Behavior in Class D slowly begins to improve, except Sudo. Hirata decides to create a study group to help the class prepare for the upcoming midterms.
He invites everyone, but Sudo, Ike, and Yamauchi are not interested in joining. Moments later, Horikita invites Kiyotaka to lunch. Using free food as bait, he made her listen to him.
He had noticed that the Idiot Trio refused to join the study group created by Hirata, and want Kiyotaka to get them to join a study group created by him instead so that Class D can pass the midterms and potentially increase their grade points.
Since he could not accept no answer, Kiyotaka sadly agreed to invite them to join.
Horikita's study group, was unsuccessful because they did not take seriously the situation and the effort required to study. Now out of options, she gets the idea to ask Kushida for help in order for the three of them to join the study group.
After class, he proposed his idea to Kushida. He gladly accepted on condition that he was allowed to join the group as well. Receiving this, they exchanged contact information.
Not long after, Kushida tells him that he managed to convince the three to attend. Kiyotaka tells Horikita that she must enlist Kushida's help to convince them to join, and after a while, she accepts.
the next day, Kiyotaka and Horikita went to the library to prepare for a study session. Sud, Ike, Yamauchi, Kushida, and Kyosuke Okitani arrive to study.
Soon, it was clear that the Idiot Trio was far behind in their studies than originally believed, and Horikita's harsh attitude discouraged them from trying any further.
They begin to argue, which causes the Idiot Trio to lose interest in the study group despite Kushida's efforts. Everyone other than Kiyotaka, Horikita, and Kushida left the study group.
Horikita stated that she lost interest in teaching them further because she saw it as a hassle to teach them anything that moves forward.
Kushida is desperate about the outcome and leaves shortly after thatWith Kushida's gratitude for the work he's done to help the failing study group, Kiyotaka pursues him.
He noticed that he did not leave the library, but instead headed to the roof so he followed her quietly, curious about what she was doing.
He finds her cursing Horikita, which surprises Kiyotaka and she quickly tries to leave. Making a loud noise with the door, he was told of his presence on the roof.
He immediately confronts her asking if she heard anything he said, which Kiyotaka does not deny.
He threatened her to keep quiet about what happened, took her hand and put it on************ to use the fingerprint as a form of blackmail.
Kiyotaka vows to be quiet, and then asks her about her behavior and why she is so upset with Horikita.
She expresses her desire to be friends with everyone, which Kiyotaka asks if she and Horikita knew each other before coming to high school. He took the topic away from it
quickly and ascertained his silence for the last time before he returned to his usual self and left.
Tired of the situation, Kiyotaka ignored her phone and recalled the situation that led up to that point.
At night, after being unable to sleep, Kiyotaka heads to the dorm lobby to get something to drink from the vending machine.
He saw on the CCTV elevator, after he finished, that Horikita was heading to the lobby as well. He hides her and follows her out of the building where he finds her meeting with an older student.
After listening for a while, the older student turned out to be Manabu Horikita, who was confirmed to be his older brother.
Suzune tells her brother that she came to this school to pursue him, and also says that she will actually reach A-grade.
Manabu scoffs at his drive and taunts him before pushing him against the wall of the building. He tells her to leave the school and prepares to throw her to the ground.
Kiyotaka quickly moved in and held Manabu's arm. After a few word choices, Kiyotaka releases Manabu's arm.
Manabu immediately took a few swings at Kiyotaka, all of which could have been avoided expertly.
Manabu tried to fake it with a handshake, but Kiyotaka looked through this and slapped his hand.
Manabu realizes that Kiyotaka is quite skilled and opens a quick dialogue, stating he is surprised to learn that Suzune has become friends and expressed interest in Kiyotaka.
He left after saying this, leaving Suzune and Kiyotaka alone. Kiyotaka begins to leave herself behind but is stopped by Suzune, who tries to interrogate her about her true skills, once again accusing her of deliberately lowering her test scores.
He continued to deny this, and he later regretted having shown his weakness. He once again began to depart until the topic of the study group emerged.
Kiyotaka asks her what she wants to do to advance, where she declares that she has given up on the Idiot Trio, seeing them as a heavy burden for her goal of reaching A-grade.
Kiyotaka countered by saying that schools base things on merit rather than purely academic success, and that there may be punishments they are unaware of if a student is expelled.
He stated what his flaws were and went one step further by saying that there were things that the Idiot Trio was better than him.
Finally convincing him to change his mind, they agree to try to stop the Trio of Idiots from failing the upcoming midterms.
