Chapter 3: Building the Foundation [2]

"Oh..."

A warm breeze greeted me as soon as I stepped out of the mansion. It offers a great view, as it is located on a fairly high hill.

An empty street is visible, where there are no people or cars. Speaking of "abandoned", this description of the mansion fits perfectly with that word.

Apart from this mansion, there was only one building here. This hill is included in the residential area, although quite far from other buildings and isolated, so this place is arguably located on the outskirts of the city.

"It's still Tengu City, judging by its appearance from above."

I can confirm this for sure. Tengu City, however, had a unique appearance.

These are the names of the people I found in the basement. Yukiko, who turns out to be the mother of two children - teenager Rei and his sister Tyson. Also, they seem to be of mixed foreign descent, with the exception of Yuriko, who may be of Japanese blood judging by her name and appearance, which I recognize.

Yukiko is a single mother who does not have a job due to the large number of resumes with job applications available. He is 32 years old and has just moved to this city. He may try to get a job in town after he finishes settling down in their new home.

Tyson, who was the youngest child, was only 4 years old.

And finally, this person interests me the most.

Rei, the eldest son, is 16 years old and is a student who has applied to join Raizen High School this school year as a transfer student. Her appearance is similar to mine.

Now my new identity is Rei Ainsworth, a 16-year-old boy trying to live life to the fullest.

I started renovating and managing the items in this mansion, which had two floors and a basement underneath.

Okay, enough of this shit. Continuing with this thought, I tried to do my best to train and familiarize myself with my abilities. And there's progress...

No, to be honest, progress is very slow. I felt like I was a baby struggling to learn to stand and walk ...

I don't have a "System" or anything that can help me with this. After all, what you expect in such a short time, is only a month.

It had gotten to the point where I had always used my [Gate] or portal to return home so that they could not trace my location.

Oh. If you guys are wondering, [Gate] is the only stable ability I can use without too much trouble, though, the reason for that was because it was the natural nature of the [Spirit] to be able to create something like a portal. The downside was when It created a space gap.

But there were [Spirit] who were able to use it without causing a dimensional rift, or even if it did, the gap would not be strong enough to cause damage or set off an alarm about a dimensional crack.

[Spirit] all I know can do this is Kurumi Tokisaki, Code: Nightmare. Other examples of such people are Natsumi Keno, Code: Witch, and Nia Honjo, Code: Sister, and some other [Spirit].

In the case of Natsumi and Nia, they lack the strength to cause a strong dimensional rift that would trigger a dimensional rift alarm.

However, in Kurumi's case, it would be more reasonable to say that she could control her [angel] power, and her [reireku] better compared to the other [Spirit], so he should be able to control the damage from manifesting his [Astral Cloak] to the point of not damaging the environment.

Returning to the topic, you could say that I, who had just become a [Spirit], was still unable to control my abilities stably compared to Kurumi and the other Spirits. That's why I still make small dimensional surprises whenever I try to summon my [Astral Cloak] and my [Angel], whose name I still don't know even after this period of time.

Up until now, I was able to use my abilities like [Gate] as a vehicle, which was very convenient both in battle and in everyday life.

I can also use telekinesis or psychokinesis without complications.

In summary, the basis of this was originally to strengthen my position as part of human society, to have a source of income in the form of money, to have some kind of base or headquarters .. or rather a mansion, training my Spirit ability to the best of my ability in the face of the impending threat of ambush almost anywhere. There are many other things that I have done, but it is not worth mentioning as these are just a few small things and tasks that need to be done.
