I HATE YOU, BUT

I HATE YOU, BUT
#46

A few days later, Davian escorted Alena to visit her mother who still occupied her family's old house. They're not just the two of them because it turns out, Malvin asked to come along. The man was as curious as Alena. He wanted to hear the story directly from his biological father's side.

Nia-Mother Alena was surprised when her daughter came with her husband. But he was even more surprised when he saw Malvin coming with them. Now they were sitting in the living room with an awkward atmosphere. Heavy and stuffy air envelops a large room with large open windows. Nia sighed before starting her story. He already knew the purpose of Alena's arrival after his daughter begged him to tell her the love story of her late father with a hearty face.

“I know Sarah,” Nia said in a low and warm voice. He gave his smile to the three people who were looking at him with tense faces.

“She is a beautiful woman and very lucky to be loved so much by your Father,” Nia looked at Malvin for a moment and the man blinked his eyes.

“They loved each other even before your father was betrothed to Mommy.”

The three people gasped and held their breaths together. So, they really loved each other in the beginning?

“Your father promised to marry Sarah and that's what made her so passionate about building the company she started. But everything went awry when Grandpa Alena asked your father to marry Mother. She is very disappointed and starts to oppose the idea of marriage.” along with it Alena like looking back on events in the past like a movie that was played back to her family version. The fact behind the hostility shown by his father and Malvin's family and all the events made it even harder to breathe.

*Flashback*

David stared angrily at the girl in front of him, while Nia was only able to stare blankly at the tea glass before him. He could not say, even breathing was difficult. He knew his decision to agree to this match was foolish but he could not refuse his own father's offer when he found out the man he had been betrothed to was David, the man he had secretly loved. Nia knows David who is one campus with him as a persistent man, friendly to anyone, kind, and loved by everyone. That was the basic thing that made him fall in love with David.

“Don't I tell you I love another girl, why do you still approve of this marriage?”

Of course I know that, Inner Nia. He had heard rumors that David was in a relationship with a girl from the same college. But once again it seems like this matchmaking is a destiny that God has outlined for him so he agreed without thinking about David's feelings.

“Classical reasons,” ruk David spiteful. He turned his face the other way. Nia ventured to raise her head and that second her heart also fell when she caught a look of despair and regret on the face of the man who would be her husband. By the time he realized, he had already incised a wound in the heart of his most beloved person.

“I'm giving you another chance to think. I hope the answer I get next is a rejection from you. If you still persist too, don't blame me if I use hurtful means to make you end this match,” David said in a cold tone.

Trying to ignore David's threats. He is willing to take the risk of not getting the man's love as long as he can marry her. It's okay if people say she's a selfish woman because love is always able to make something bad good.

A few days later he accidentally saw David taking a girl into the man's house when he was about to deliver something on the orders of his future mother-in-law.

“Who is the girl?” thought. Could it be Sarah, the girl David loved? Apparently their relationship has not ended even at the time of her marriage and David is two weeks away.

So far Nia has remained adamant on her desire to be David's wife. He does not care about the fact that there are two hearts hurt because of his selfishness. Despite his doubts, he still approached the house and settled down like a thief. From the open window, he could see David sitting side by side with a girl he believed was Sarah. The expressions of both of them were both anxious, furious, and desperate.

“Please wait a minute, Sarah. I'm sure Nia will definitely cancel the wedding plans and by then we'll be married.”
