"Wake up, it's morning"
I heard my brother's voice calling. I also felt like I had a small hand hitting my cheek. I woke up and smiled at Ha Na. It feels lazy to wake up. But my stomach is hungry.
"You okay?" Ask the worried sister. I yawned and shook my head. "It's okay". I went downstairs and saw my sister-in-law sitting at the dinner table. I greeted him and started eating my breakfast.
"Is it true that artist Chang Min Jung came here yesterday?" I smile. "Sister-in-law is really missing. I just met him." I replied cheerfully. My sister sees me worried.
"He's not that handsome," Dad mocked him. "I'm still a lot more handsome than he is." Mom laughed. I saw my ankles. The swelling is somewhat reduced.
"Is Jin Ae going back to Seoul?" sister-in-law opened a topic that made father and mother speechless. "I have to finish what I started. Isn't it Dad?" I hope Dad and Mom don't get in my way anymore.
"Go back to Seoul but I don't want you to be a maid anymore." I was silent and thought a lot. I had to heal myself before I started working again. "Dad will help you with your tuition, the others you're looking for yourself". I don't believe what I'm hearing. My mother smiled happily. "Thank you Dad."
I've been home a week. My wounds are slowly healing. I never knew about Mr. Chang. She must still be in Busan for the drama shoot. But I don't care anymore. I'm not his maid anymore.
"Are you sure you're back in Seoul with that kind of feeling?" My brother's voice surprised me. "Is there anything else I would expect?" I smiled, hiding everything. "I saw Min Jung was actually worried about you, but he was a great artist who had to keep his image." I stopped packing my clothes.
"I don't want anything from him. I thought he was going to make me a more special person than others, but I was wrong." That was the lesson I had to take from this incident. I must not be lulled by sweet treatment and sweet words.
Brother hugged me with Ha Na who kept smiling prettyly at me. I am happy to have a family that loves me. "Auntie will finish college and be a tough lady. Okay Ha Na?" Ha Na replied with an adorable laugh.
I finally returned to Seoul. I went back to my rented house in Gwangjin-gu. It's only been a week since I left this house, but it feels like I haven't been home for a month. So messy.
I cleaned my room for a full day. I threw away some unimportant things. While cleaning the closet, I found the clothes I was wearing at Mr. Chang's house. I have to give it back.
This morning I had to go to the doctor to check the rest of the wounds. My feet can be moved as before. But I'd better keep checking so as not to leave any bad wounds for me in the future.
Waiting at the hospital reminded me of Mr. Chang sitting next to me when I got this wound. Mr. Park's status indicates that filming in Busan was smooth. While Mr. Chang only posted a scene on his status. Their numbers haven't been erased. Maybe later, if I'm ready.
The follow-up test showed that my wound had healed completely. No bruises have become worse. The wound in my leg has also improved. Mercifully. I can find another job.
Tonight I will meet Ha Young at one of the theobboki spots near the University. Maybe I can buy some clothes and go for a walk before I get home. I haven't been out for a long time and buying stuff.
I bought a light green lacy dress, a blue miniskirt and a cute patterned top. I also bought a wide-cut jacket and trousers. Satisfied with the shopping, I went home with some fish cakes.
After hanging clothes in the closet, I turned on the tv and made hot tea. Eating fish cakes and drinking hot tea is a little happiness for me. TV shows celebrity news. When I was about to change the tv channel, there was news about Mr. Chang. Reportedly Mr. Chang loves the location with co-stars in his new drama. They were caught in the media exiting the same hotel in the early hours of the morning in Busan.
The silhouette of Mr. Chang shown on tv made my heart ache. I turned off the tv and started eating my fish cakes while playing games on my phone.
In the evening Ha Young took me out to eat and we spent almost 2 servings of teokbokki and fried. I don't drink alcohol because of my bad habits that come up when I'm drunk. I destroyed a little shop in Chuncheon for getting drunk in High School. Dad was furious and forbade me to drink a drop of alcohol until now.
Ha Young took me to karaoke after eating. We had fun and went home tired.
I went home at about 10 p.m., after driving Ha Young to her apartment drunk. There's a car in front of my house. The car I know. I was silent and did not dare to approach. Is that really Mr Chang's car? Not likely. Mr. Chang is in Busan and dating a fellow artist.
I dared to walk back home, past that car. I did not look at the car and went straight into the house. Not long heard the sound of a car leaving the front of the house shortly after I entered the house.
It can't be Mr. Chang.
Tomorrow I see Mr. Park's status. He likes to post Mr. Chang's activities on his phone. This morning it looks like Mr. Chang is filming early in the morning in Busan. Means yesterday's car must not have been Mr. Chang's.
I will go to Mr. Chang's house to return the clothes and keys to the house. I sent a message to Mr. Park. Mr. Park said to leave it to the new aide they hired in Itaewon. That quickly they replaced me.
I was wearing a mini skirt I just bought yesterday with a sweet lacy top. This time I did not go as a maid, but as a guest. So I dressed up a little. My curly hair was long, with a thin make up making me go back to being a teenager again. I wear the 5 cm right which makes my legs look long.
I got out of the house at 10am and went on a subway train to Itaewon. Some men glanced at me and someone asked for my phone number. It turns out that dressing up I'm pretty too. I laughed in my proud heart.
The view on the street near Mr. Chang's house remains the same as when I worked here. So quiet. I stopped in front of Mr. Chang's house and rang the bell. Not long there was the sound of someone half running and opening the door.
A 50-year-old aunt opened the door. "I'm Jin Ae, yesterday I contacted Mr. Park to give you something" I said and handed him a bag containing clothes and keys. At first this aunt was a bit confused, then she told me to come in. "I just want to hand this over, not go in." I subtly refused.
But this aunt didn't seem to understand and let me in anyway. I hesitated to put my foot into the house.
