"Son, so are you guys going straight to Jakarta?" ask Rashid's father to start a conversation between the families.
One question from Father-in-law, made Rey change her sitting position. Right now, all eyes were directed at him. Everyone must be curious, where will he take this house's daughter away. It is natural because marriage happens without knowing the ins and outs of the family in depth. As parents, they must be worried about the safety and comfort of the princess.
"My house is in Jakarta, and so is my business." Helaan breaths deeply with eyes glancing at the wife who looks so exhausted is leaning back by holding Adi who is asleep in the lap.
"If I could be honest. My initial intention was to invite Mom and Dad to come with us to live in Jakarta. That too, if you are willing because Asthma does not want to impose. My wife explained that the family shared affection. Although distance is separate, it does not mean leaving."
Everyone just quietly listened trying to give flexibility in the deliberation of young daughter-in-law with their Father. Until finally the deal is reached. After talking with all to reach the end of the family debate. Rashid's father decided to stay in Kebumen.
As a parent, Rashid's father wanted all his children to have a place to go. Where time keeps turning, so does life without guarantees. A breakup after marriage is no longer inevitable. After the reception ended and also held alms with the orphans. It has been seven days since the newlyweds settled in the city of Kebumen.
Today, Rey, Asma and Bagas will return to Jakarta. Not using a car, but the vehicle falls on the choice of train. Of course after taking care of all the letters and also other documents officially. Not the whole family, only Asthma parents who take the bride and groom to the station.
Departure time was ten o'clock fifteen minutes, and now it was only nine and fifty minutes. All items carried are only those that are considered important. Including some Asthma clothes stored in only one medium suitcase. It looks like the girl is struggling to cuddle her mother's body.
"Mad, take good care of yourself and always remember all the advice of parents. Don't forget to tell mom." Zulaikha's mother said she endured her sadness, as a mother and friend. He never thought it would be this fast away from his daughter, "Now you have to make your own coffee."
"Mom, your son won't go, you know. Kasian was her husband when she was left alone. There's still Dad, right?" Father Rashid encouraged his wife, although he was aware of the relationship between mother and child that could not be separated.
The small debate between Father and Mother, made Asthma just smile warmly. Again, he tried to strengthen his heart. After today, who would nag him? Who would bother with picking his favorite food? Every memory is getting stifling chest.
While waiting for the train to arrive. Asthma just sits in the middle between her parents. The girl did not give up one last chance to enjoy the family togetherness that she will miss so much later. So close without distance.
Rey and Bagas are just observers. Occasionally join in when getting questions, until the sound of the train sounds so loud. Some people have the same schedule. Already waiting in line to show tickets to be able to go inside, but Asma was just willing to let go of his parents' hands. When the train stops right in front of your eyes.
"Ndu, remember to pray on time, do not stay up late. Especially late to eat." He pecked his forehead, then the princess' cheek. Then hand the girl over to Rey the daughter-in-law. "Son, I'm leaving my naughty daughter to you."
"Dad, please take care of Mom. Do not be busy yourself in front of the house for gardening, because after today. Your time begins to knit together again. Sorry, all this time stole a lot of Mom's attention just for me. I love Mom, and Dad too. Assalamu'alaikum," Asma's saying grabbed Zulaikha's mother's hand giving a solemn kiss.
Farewell is real. In the train car. Asthma sat staring out the window with tears flowing without a sound. The city of Kebumen is a city of memories. All stories do not start from one corner of the city, but there they are. His soul will always beat. Leaving loved ones to move forward into the future.
"We can visit Mom and Dad at least once a month. If you feel like you can't stay away for too long. How's it?" Tawar Rey tried to comfort the wife, but the woman remained silent.
The six-hour journey would be a long one for the three of them. Bagas sat next to her, and let Rey just sit alone with Asthma. The silence that greeted the sound of the train. Sure enough, the trip was no joke. Especially laughter.
Six hours passed. The train finally stopped at the last destination station. Bagas hurriedly picked up the item which was only two suitcases and one tote bag. While Rey was busy holding Asthma's hand to stay near her. A new city with a different way of life. As soon as the foot sets the station floor.
Many people offered to deliver the new passengers, but Bagas quickly refused. The man looked different when he reached Jakarta. Strict attitude with true bodyguard style. Why look so guarded Rey. It's not just that. As soon as they get out of the station. There were already three parked cars picking up with several people in uniform waiting.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Aditya. Please come in." said a man who dressed the most differently in a white shirt and hair drizzle.
Rey nodded her head, then opened the back door. "Asma, comein. Our journey is still two hours away. Mr. Doni, let Bagas take the car!"
The employer's orders are absolute. Mr. Doni, according to him, gave me the car keys. Then close the back door of the car so that the master does not bother himself. The reception was quite astonishing, but Asthma still chose silence. Though the head was filled with many questions. Her husband's identity looks so vague.
A third convoy of cars began to walk out of the station area. The sound of the roar of the engine that is mutually simple befriended the dim twilight rays. Bagas focused on driving, while Asma stared at the streets crowded with skyscrapers. Who would have thought, fate brought him back to the place of the Capital with a different purpose.
Rey doesn't understand. Why did his wife become so quiet. Is it because he is surprised by his life that is inversely proportional to the world of the wife or is there something else that disturbs the mind of the woman? What kind of anxiety continues to attack, to be unable to express frankly.
"Ekhem!" Bagas cleared his throat hard enough to distract Rey and Asma simultaneously. "Are you going to be quiet all your life? Come on, welcome your new life with happiness. Remember, I'm the one who set you up. I have the right to advise."
"Nobody's banning you, Ka. Isn't that right, Mas?" sahut Asma without a smile, but asked for the approval of the man sitting next to him.
Rey nodded, wanting to know the continuation of her life story. During this time, no woman was a part of her life. However, there is currently asthma. The village girl who managed to steal some of her peace of life. A wife who will balance imperfections in the course of life's destiny.
"Asma, don't you want to ask about your husband's life?" Bagas stared through the rearview mirror, for a moment he saw a thin smile on his back adorning the face of Asthma.
