FONDLING

FONDLING
PAREVAKAN 30

*Dug, dug, dug!

Although my hair began to stand when I heard the dimple sounding again. But I dared to look back at the house while the dimple was still ringing.

I walked slowly to the backyard. The cold air in the morning and the fog that blocked my view did not make me undo my resolve.

I deliberately just peeked behind the tree to see who was hitting the dimple.

I clenched my hand so I was ready to face whatever happened. Especially when I see creatures that always make me sleepless.

Luckily the mist began to shift so that I could see a woman who was ringing the dimple.

She wears green clothes with long, black hair. I can't even see his face, but I'm sure he's not a ghost.

Finished ringing the dimple the woman also put something in front of the warehouse.

Suddenly I heard the sound of my mother screaming making me immediately run away from the place.

I was afraid something might happen to Mom so I went straight to see Mom in her room.

I saw Mom screaming in pain.

"Ah, pain, pain, please, help!!" he screamed while clawing his face

"Mother why Mom," I said immediately holding both of my arms against hurting herself.

"It hurts, it hurts Fikri!" exclaimed Mother while thrashing trying to escape.

"Call Ma'am, let's follow Fikri's reading," I recited the seat verse slowly so that mother could imitate it.

But instead of mimicking my reading, my mother screamed out the heat.

"Hot, sick, hot, stop Fikri, stop, mom's not strong!" she cried with her reddened and glaring eyes.

I don't know why I feel like someone's controlling my mom. As Abu Musa said, I read again the verse of the chair to drive away the subtle creatures that rule over my mother's body.

But just as I opened my mouth, my mother managed to get away from me and strangle my neck until I had trouble breathing.

It felt tight, my chest felt hot as if it was burning because I really had trouble breathing. Sweat soaked all over my body trying to survive.

When it was almost dark, I saw someone coming into the room. He calmly read the old Javanese mantra to make my mother slowly let go of her strangulation and fell unconscious.

I don't remember anything after that. When I woke up I saw Bik Sumi combing my mother's hair.

"You're aware of Fik?" the question is so friendly

I nodded then sat down on my mother's bed. Mom came up to me and looked at me.

"Why daydream, he said you want to work?. You better take a shower now, then let Sumi make you breakfast,"

"Yes ma'am," without thinking for a long time I immediately got up and rushed towards the bathroom.

I took a hot bath because it was cold this morning. I heard Bik Sumi cooking in the kitchen. There was no suspicion whatsoever at that time, I instead thanked Bik Sumi who was still loyal to help our family even though I could only pay cheaply for her services.

I don't know why I refused to go to work today. Although the mother already looks healthy, but why there is something stuck in the heart.

My little heart doesn't allow me to leave my mother. But the contents of my wallet required me to go to work, let alone this Tuesday Kliwon where I had to fetch the flower water that was routinely used to bathe my mother.

With a heavy heart I decided to go to work even though my little heart told me to stay at home with my mother.

I saw my mother's face looking welcoming me and invited me to have breakfast together.

He even fed me, until I shed tears. It's been a long time since I've missed my mother's feed. The last time my mother bribed me was when I was going to college in Jakarta, and after that she never fed me again because she was in a long illness.

And this time I've been treating my longing. Oh God I am so grateful to you because I can finally feel the joy of Mother's mouth again.

"Sorry Mom, Fikri's moved,"

"Yes Le, I'm sorry mom because it's been a hassle for you, I promise if given long life mom wants to bribe you every day before you are fed to your wife later,"

"Amijin,"

I opened my mouth wide at the last mouth.

I hurriedly gulped down a glass of warm white milk when I saw my watch showing at seven in the morning.

"Fikri went to work first, ma'am," I said, then kissed the back of her hand

"Yes, be careful Le,"

My mother took me to the front of the house. I drove my motorcycle through the streets that started to get jammed due to the rush hour.

I deliberately chose a route a little far away to avoid traffic jams. At eight o'clock I arrived at the workshop.

I see some technicians have opened the workshop and tidied up the storefront.

I went straight to Bu Dhe Suryati's office to fetch some water.

"Astaghfirullah," I was surprised to see the figure of Bu Dhe who suddenly appeared in front of the door

"Why is it so shocking to see the devil!"

"Yes Miss Dhe, abis I don't think Miss Dhe is, uh nongol is a serem,"

"I'm just curious, Fik" replied Ms. Dhe

He then let me in and sat in his chair.

"Why is Miss Dhe?"

"The same question as the person who sent ingon-ingonne nganggo mateni me anyway," replied Bu Dhe Arsih made me surprised

"Is that why Ms. Dhe stopped treating her?"

"Not that,"

He got up from his seat and held the flower water in the jug.

"It seems because of this," said Bu Dhe

"Now my mother is healthy, Ms. Dhe, Alhamdulillah, she can talk, has been able to walk and move again like before,"

"Thankfully, at least he does not need to bathe in the flower water again, after all this flower water is just useless," said Bu Dhe Suryati with a disappointed face

"I mean??" I'm not really understanding

"Have you no need to know, which is clear now you better just go home, because your mother needs you more."

"But I'm healthy, Ms. Dhe, besides, there's Bik Sumi, who's looking after her,"

"Never leave your mother to someone you don't know" replied Ms. Dhe

"But I already know Bik Sumi,"

Ms. Dhe just smiled cynically listening to my words like she was hiding something.

I saw Ms. Dhe walking limp and her hands were covered with bruises.

"Just obey your heart, Fikri, do not let you regret it later" said Ms. Dhe then left me alone in the room.
