Disillusioned
“Anna, please stop your wedding with Alan. I'm tired of all this. Alan and I loved each other but we had a hard time taking time because Alan and I were you. Alan had to divide his time to gain the trust of his parents. I think what we have is enough, finish your relationship with Alan. Alan hasn't been able to divorce you because he doesn't know what to say to his parents after you've run him down, so it's time for you to show him your role. You are the one who demands a divorce, then all the problems are solved. Alan does not need to be burdened with what reasons make you have to split.”
Anna's riveted.
“Isn't this farewell you want isn't it? You want to be free of Alan, don't you? It's time to get away from the man who doesn't love you. Let us who love each other live freely.”
“Cintya, don't burden this problem on Anna. Don't make him a scapegoat to look guilty in my family's eyes. However, I should have submitted the decision, not Anna.” Alan begged.
Anna looked at Alan. The two sat for a split second.
“Anna, plis! Nothing more needs to be maintained from two people who do not love each other, right?” Cinta clasped Anna's hand.
“Yes, I'll decide. Give me a few days.” Anna stared at Cintya's cry. The woman shed tears begging for justice, begging Anna for proof of what Anna had said.
Why is this so difficult a path Anna has to take? Anna regrets making a big mistake, starting the household by writing a silly deal that eventually forced her to follow rules that tortured her own.
Cintya hit Anna and hugged her tightly. “Thank you, Anna.”
Alan was fixated on looking at Anna, who until this second seemed unwilling to look at him.
Cintya then left after wiping her tears and gave a very sweet smile to Anna. So great was Cintya's hope for Alan that she tipped through Anna's shoulders.
“Anna!” call Alan when Cintya's car is gone from the yard.
Anna didn't want to look at Alan.
“As in our agreement. Also as you expected, marry me, and then let me go after all you wanted has been achieved. You and Cintya are united, you have also received a lot of money from Papa William. Then what else? If you have trouble finding excuses in front of your parents, let me talk.”
“Anna, I don't want to make you look bad in my family's eyes. You have helped me a lot, you entered my family well, where maybe I let you go leave a bad name by asking me to divorce for no apparent reason.”
“You have given me a home, I consider it enough in return for me.”
“But your goal in marrying me is not for that, Anna. It doesn't feel fair.”
“Isn't that what you expected?”
Alan quiet.
Anna was disappointed to see Alan who was just silent. It means Alan was expecting the divorce. Just because he was unwell, Alan convolutedly held himself back.
“Do not prevent me. You don't love me, do you?” continued Anna.
Alan gasped at the question. And he could only stare at Anna without a word spoken from her lips.
Anna is increasingly disappointed, Alan's silence shows that the man does not love her. True what Cintya said, the reason for what made Anna to stay in touch with Alan while he lived without love. Did you know, actually Anna's heart has now been attached to Alan? Should he express his feelings to a man who clearly loves another woman? If Alan had known his heart, would everything have changed?
