"mahs.... Can you explain all of this, Ferdian asked firmly and with a serious gaze like the steady eyes of the Eagle were sharp in his eyes .

Actually, not only this time Ferdian saw them making out and looking closer to each other but because Ferdian felt that he was his real father so let it go.  and after making sure Smith was his father, he was eager to find him so that they had no reason to avoid and acknowledge each other's feelings.
