Memory Of Love

Memory Of Love
The Part 32

Since it was early in the morning, all of them had woken up, and had taken the time to have breakfast together, before Aaron and Lionel returned to their respective homes.

In the dining room, which was left behind by Casey, Daniel and Steve, the rest of the time before leaving for the office, Daniel used to invite Steve, to talk to him.

"According to his educational and professional background, Steve had a very critical mind" Daniel chirped, as Casey accompanied him to the garage.

"Is that what you're trying to bring her here? You want him to help you?" ask Daniel.

"Yes, Grandpa ... I want to have a comparative opinion before I make a decision on R&H" Casey replied.

"But the final decision, I will definitely ask you, Grandpa," Casey continued.

"Will he help you?" ask Daniel, again.

"Yes ... Yesterday I tried to discuss some ideas with him, and he wanted to give his opinion. But...."

Casey, hanging up his words, made Daniel ask, saying,

"But, why?"

"For the reason that he doesn't work at R&H, so he seems to still be hesitant, to tell him everything he can think of" Casey replied.

Daniel nodded his head, as if he was thinking of something.

"You'll know how good it will be. Grandpa just trust you" said Daniel, then hugged Casey.

"Grandpa go first! Today, the Grandpa schedule is quite solid. But later in the afternoon, maybe Grandpa can go home soon." Daniel then rushed into the car.

"Now! ... Bye, Grandpa!" said Casey.

"Bye, my dear!" daniel said, before closing the car door, and immediately passed away, with his personal driver.

When Casey turned around, Steve seemed to have walked up to him there, then said, Steve,

"You haven't left for the office yet?"

Casey saw the watch in his hand. "Yes, I'm leaving now. You're coming with me, aren't you?"

Steve nodded his head. "Yes, of course!"

At Steve's offer, when they went to the office that day, Steve drove Casey's car.

Steve said that he may be a bit stiff when driving, because of the difference in the location of the steering wheel of the car, with which he usually wears, in the country where he lives.

But according to Casey, Steve's way of driving was still pretty good, and seemed to get used to it soon, after a while they were on the way.

"I had another dream last night" Casey said.

Steve, who was arranging his car, in an exclusive parking lot at the R&H Corp office, glanced at Casey for a moment.

"Hm ... What do you dream of, has to do with your lost memories?" ask Steve.

"Maybe it is or may not be" Casey replied.

"Then, this is the fourth time, huh?! ... It looks like it's true *you're guessing, '" said Steve.

(*Steve is talking about Casey's conjecture, that Casey would dream of seeing the past, if she interacted intensely enough with Aaron.)

"To be honest, I'm jealous. But I don't know what to do. Moreover, he is your fiancee" continued Steve, who seemed to be forcing himself to smile.

Casey, who had removed her seatbelt, leaned toward Steve and kissed him.

"I'm sorry I just hurt you ... But I can confirm that my heart is not for him" Casey said, reassuring Steve.

Staring at Casey fixedly, Steve smiled broadly, then kissed Casey again for a while, before someone knocked on the car glass door beside Steve.

Aaron was seen standing near the car, and looked a little hunched over outside.

Casey, furious, wanted to curse Aaron at that time, but Steve, who seemed to realize Casey's annoyance, then said, I'm sure,

"It's okay! ... You can't scold him. I'll kiss you again, when there's another chance."

"Huuffft...!" Casey gave a rough snort, then got out of the car, along with Steve.

"What are you doing, lingering in the car?" ask Aaron.

"Is that your business?" Casey asked back with a faint tone of voice.

Aaron is seen trying to get to Casey, who is walking next to Steve, leading into the office building, until Casey is finally between the two men.

"Where's your lover? Isn't it too early for you now, to piss me off?!" Casey.

"He's been inside since then" said Aaron, sounding without burden.

Aaron's attitude these days is really annoying, according to Casey.

Aaron even followed Casey and Steve, getting to the front of Casey's study, where Morty was seen standing immediately, as Casey walked over, and Morty said,

"Good morning, Miss! ... Good morning, Mister Hamilton! ... Mister Dale!"

"Morning!" sahut Casey's.

"Miss! ... The chairman of the audit committee, is waiting for you inside," Morty continued, hastily.

Casey who almost opened the door of her study, then immediately stopped her steps, then turned her head to the side.

"Steve! ... Ii'm sorry. But you have to wait outside" Casey said.

"Okay!" steve Sahut.

"Morty! ... Please prepare a cup of tea for my guest!" Casey.

"I delivered it, Miss!" suhoor Morty.

"Oh! Okay! ... Thank you, Morty!" Casey then entered her study alone.

The chairman of the audit committee, who was a man in his forty years, immediately stood up from the sofa he was sitting on, when he saw Casey.

"Good morning!" greet Casey.

"Good morning, Miss Roberts!" chairman of the audit committee.

"Please sit!" Casey stuck out one hand, giving the guest a chance to sit back. "Have you been waiting a long time?"

"Just now" replied the chairman of the audit committee, who immediately submitted some report files, to Casey. "This is all the data you asked for."

While reading the file in his hand, and feeling that there was less, than what he could see there, Casey asked, saying,

"Is there no new information yet, from the investigation team?"

"Not ... It seems that everything is detailed and neatly arranged. So, we are having a hard time getting evidence, if there is indeed a deviation of funds," the chairman of the audit committee replied, sounding cautious.

"Hmmm...." Casey muttered, nodding his head. "I'll still give you extra duties."

The chairman of the audit committee fell silent as he looked at Casey, seemingly waiting for Casey to continue his words.

"I have checked in at a glance, and approved the proposal for a corporate birthday celebration event....

... But I want you and the team, to keep a close eye and double-check, budgeting funds for that activity" Casey continued.

Without a look of hesitation, the chairman of the audit committee then nodded in agreement. "Good, Miss!"

Not just stop there.

Casey and the chairman of the audit committee are still talking, discussing all the information related to R&H Corp, to spend quite a lot of time.

Casey who really focused his attention on his work, even forgot Steve who was waiting for him outside.

"All right then! ... You're doing your job well" Casey said, closing the conversation standing up, then shaking hands with the audit committee's chairman.

"Thank you for your trust! See you soon, Miss Roberts!" The chairman of the audit committee, then left Casey's office.

Then, not for long, Steve is seen walking into Casey's study, and he's not alone, as Aaron also goes in there with him.

Casey, who had moved from her couch to her chair, asked Aaron, saying,

"Why are you still here? Are you not doing any other work?"

"Nobody's pressing for the next few days" answered Aaron, looking foolish, sitting on the couch, face to face with Steve.

Later, Aaron seems to talk to Steve, but Casey does not pay attention to what they are talking about, because Casey is still busy with his work.

I don't know what was wrong, so it just got weirder, when Morty suddenly knocked on the door and opened it, then said,

"Miss! ... Marketing director Julie Tosch, would like to meet you!"

According to Casey's allegations, Julie only reasoned to meet with Casey, so she could enter Casey's study.

"Send him in!" Casey gave Julie permission.

"Good, Miss!" suhoor Morty.

When Julie stepped in, she seemed to smile cynically and then greeted the potluck, saying,

"Hello, everybody!"

Julie is then seen immediately taking a seat, between Aaron and Steve.

Casey ignored him, because his work was still unfinished, and he remained busy examining the data, which the chairman of the audit committee submitted to him earlier.

"What are you working on?" asked Aaron, who was suddenly standing by Casey's desk.

Casey immediately closed the report file sheet on the table, so that Aaron would not see what he was examining, and then said,

"Don't bother me if you don't want to get kicked out of here!"

"Geez! ... I'm just asking, if only you needed help. Because it's about to be lunch break, and you don't seem to be done yet" Aaron said.

"thank you. But I don't need your help. You can join them, and don't bother me anymore!" sahut Casey's.
