Missing In The Heart

Missing In The Heart
Chapter 49.Meet Granny.

The next day...

Rachel, Mahavir and Bryan visit Grandma Rachel and Bryan's house. The older woman called Granny greeted them warmly and joyfully along with two beautiful women who were cousins of Rachel and Bryan. The first girl was Anna, she was two years older than Rachel and the other girl was five years older than Bryan. They are the children of Pak Wijaya's older brother who now lives in the Cambridge area. They have lived with Granny since birth, so when her parents moved due to job demands, they preferred to stay with Granny.

Mahavir was anxious to meet with Rachel's other family, especially the old woman. Because among Rachel's closest family, only Granny doesn't like her. Mahavir had even felt the heat of the old woman's wand beating him blindly when he found out that she was the one named Dirman. But seeing the Granny who was currently being warm made Mahavir a little able to breathe a sigh of relief. Although still with his head bowed, avoiding his gaze. They are currently chatting enjoying green tea and some colorful macaroons in the hallway of the house.

"I'm sorry Granny well baby is not present at your wedding." Granny said as she rubbed the back of Rachel's hand sitting next to her.

"Iyya Forgive us too..." Compact Anna and Lily chimed.

Rachel smiled gently, "It's okay Granny, Rachel knows that Granny is not strong with long trips." Paused for a moment, then turned to look towards Anna and Lily. "Dont worry sister, I get it. You guys keep granny here. What matters is that your prayers are always there for me."

"Of Course, my best prayer is always for Rachel's sister." Lily hugged Rachel's neck from the side. Then moved to sit on the same sofa as Bryan.

"Granny's prayers will always be with you" spread her gaze to her grandchildren and stopped at Mahavir. Staring at Mahavir for a moment with a view that is difficult to understand and then looking back at Rachel.

"So, when are we gonna hear the news about our niece-to-be?" Anna smiled at Rachel and Mahavir.

"Sister Anna, we're just getting married." Rachel replied casually.

"We're still trying. Just pray for it." Mahavir finally made a sound, after just listening. But then looked back down as Granny looked at him with an intimidating look. From his gaze it can be known that Rachel inherited the cold nature from her grandmother.

While Rachel only blushed embarrassed to hear Mahavir's words just now, she immediately remembered the incident last night that her efforts failed miserably.

Anna cleared her throat and continued to tease Rachel with somewhat mature talk. Lily and Bryan are uncomfortable with their conversation.

"Bryan let's just go, looks like their conversation doesn't suit us." Lily got up from her seat and pulled Bryan. "I kidnap Bryan first." Continue with a chuckle.

"Where are you going?" Ask Anna

"You need to take a walk to Trafalgar Square." He looked at Bryan. "You coming?"

Bryan raised both eyebrows. "Yes, I happen to want to go to the Waterstones bookstore."

"We can get out, can't we, Granny?" lily asked permission.

Rachel looked at Bryan and Lily. "Don't wait for lunch?"

"We just ate outside Rachel's sister" Lily clasped her arms around Bryan's. Afraid that Bryan would change his mind.

"Yes you can go. But Bryan's coming home in a minute. Nginep at Granny's." Granny said to her only grandson.

Bryan agreed to then move from that place with his cousin Lily. This is what makes Bryan uncomfortable. Every time he went to Granny's house, he would be invited by Lily and taken around, exhibited to all his friends as if Bryan was a limited edition item. Whether it's from his daddy family or his mommy family, Bryan has always been a subject of struggle by his older cousins who are more dominant women. And maybe because of that habit, Bryan is not awkward dating women who are older than him.

After Bryan and Lily died, Granny invited Mahavir to speak together. Anna invites Rachel into the kitchen to prepare lunch.

Mahavir looked down deeply, not daring to look at the face of Granny who continued to look at him without blinking a single bit.

"Hmmm..." Pounding and then rising with a half-supporting body on his staff. "Granny wants to take a walk to the front garden."

Mahavir who immediately caught the intention of Granny quickly stood up and helped Granny walk until she reached the front garden of the house. Under the Maple tree, on a white iron garden chair, they sat side by side.

There was silence between them for a few minutes. Then Granny came back.

Granny pulled Mahavir's right hand and patted him softly. "Don't be afraid of me, I won't eat you..."

Mahavir turned, looking at Granny's face. The face is already filled with many strokes and wrinkles and some black spots around the nose and under the eyes, but can still be seen the rest of the beauty from her youth first. The tip of his lips was slightly interested, revealing a thin smile that made Mahavir share his smile.

"Granny knows that you've always liked Rachel. Granny didn't like you because you made Rachel suffer. But the daddy told Granny everything." Take a deep breath and breathe it out slowly. Observing Mahavir's facial expression, then speaking again. "It turns out you've been looking after and helping him all this time, even though you yourself suffer by harboring your feelings."

"That's what I did with Granny, without expecting anything. I just want to see Rachel get what she wants."

"Granny knows, and maybe now it's time for you to be happy with her. For that Granny asked, forget your old identity. Let Rachel know you as she does now. Never open your identity. We'll all keep your secrets tight. Other than us his family no longer knows your true identity?

"Sorry Granny....There's two more people who know it. She's my best friend and Rachel's best friend."

"If they were your friends, they wouldn't reveal it. They'd want you guys to be happy."

"But Granny, I can't lie all the time, I feel guilty every time I'm with her, every time I see her smile, and every time I touch her."

"Granny understands. But Granny's afraid Rachel can't handle it if she finds out you're Dirman. He looks strong, but he's actually very fragile. He's gone now Dirman. So just leave it like that."

Mahavir sighed, his gaze straight ahead looking at the dried leaves falling from several maple trees that were lined up along the way. He recalled the incident when Rachel tried to drown herself in the Sea. Where his wife is very fragile.

Mahavir closed his eyes, Rachel's smile dancing in his mind. Since he was 13 years old until now, that smile has always been his encouragement. He could not imagine that such a beautiful smile would disappear from his sight.

"You want to hear Granny's request? Bless him as Mahavir."

Mahavir was silent for a moment, his hands raised rubbing the corner of his eyes that slightly more will drop a clear circle. With the weight of her lips opened and said, "I'll listen to Granny's request...."

Granny smiled with a drop of tears falling down her cheeks that seemed to have shrunk due to age. His outstretched hand pulled Mahavir's body and hugged him.

"Thank you son, please don't ever leave Rachel. No matter how he treats you, stay by his side. No one can understand it but you." Rubbing the back of his former granddaughter wholeheartedly.

"Granny.....I promise to always stand by her, make her happy, and take care of her."

"Granny keep your promise." Releasing his embrace and stomping his cane over the weeds that ran over the ground under their feet. "Well, now we're in. Looks like he's been looking for us." Pointing with her staff towards Rachel who was standing in front of the door that was looking crazily looking for them.

After lunch at Granny's house, Rachel and Mahavir say goodbye in order to return to the office.

From Granny's home they continue their journey to Oxford Street's shopping mall where Rachel's Boutique and Fashion offices are located. An office with a futuristic modern design named Rachel Langdon in accordance with the name of the label design.

In her office, Rachel gets a surprise from the entire team she works with. The models who often work with him also appear to be present all, vying to congratulate Rachel and Mahavir's marriage.

Not to forget also Rachel introduced Mahavir to those who have long been curious about the husband figure of her boss. Some of those who had seen Mahavir's face during Video Zoom some time ago were now seen interrogating Rachel with various questions.

"Vir... Sit down for a while well, I'll just check their work." Pull Mahavir's hand and let him sit in his chair.

"It's okay, I'll be patient waiting baby. But why am I sitting here? You'll sit down, let me sit down......." Circulating his gaze looked at the sofa filled with several folds of materials and fabrics.

Rachel laughed a little. "Sorry, kind of a mess. I purposely forbid them to clean it up. Fear will be mixed with other ingredients. You just sit there." Pushing the chest of Mahavir's field to sit back. Then walk towards the row of mannequins and check all the dresses attached to the mannequin.

Mahavir seemed to support his chin on Rachel's desk which was filled with drawing paper and several colored pencils with complete colors. Both eyes did not blink looking at Rachel who looked seriously at each dress she was holding.

"What are the dresses that you will display during the event?"

"Looks like. In the long run I have prepared a lot. I just want to double-check again."

"Well, nimble is also the designer of this one......"

"Thank you....." Smirk towards Mahavir and refocus on what is before him.

"I just don't want to make sense. Otherwise it's possible that right now I'm going to be overwhelmed, you know that for almost three weeks I've been missing because of our impromptu marriage." Clenching his eyes and snorting in annoyance towards Mahavir.

"But you're happy with her impromptu marriage?" Chuckles softly at Rachel.

"Cih..happy what...." Little mutter while flipping the dress in her hand.

"The dresses are perfect, what else is checked?" Curious to see Rachel repeatedly flipping through the same dress.

"Well everything, the neatness of the pieces, the way of sewing. You know, if one thread that sticks out in the seams will be a material of gossiping fellow designers, and maybe even will reach the fashion media world. If it's like that it'll be a disgrace to the fashion designer."

"Ohh.. That's so..." Beards understand sign. Though he did not listen at all, his gaze was focused only on Rachel's face. While her hand involuntarily grabbed the pencil and doodled on the paper, drawing the serious-looking Rachel.

Almost two hours long Rachel struggled with her work, once finished Rachel was a little tidy up the room.

Rachel sighed as her room looked better, she then stretched her shoulder muscles and turned to look at Mahavir who had not spoken much from now on. When he turned around, he was surprised to find Mahavir who had fallen asleep sitting by leaning on his work chair.

Slowly Rachel approached to surprise her husband, but finally stopped him when his tail saw a piece of paper on his desk. His smile grew to see an image of himself with a small note below it that read 'My beloved spirit.' with additional emoticons love.

"It turns out you're good at drawing too, there's one more advantage of yours that I know...." Lirih Rachel gently rubbed the image of herself, then the picture was Rachel put in the folder of her file very carefully. After storing her file map into a drawer on her desk, Rachel wakes up Mahavir.

"Virr....." Rachel patted Mahavir's shoulder gently, but Mahavir just squirmed softly.

"Virr.." call him again.

"Virr darling.uuu......" Whispering quietly into Mahavir's ears and his soft voice successfully brought Mahavir to his consciousness.

Mahavir quickly pulled Rachel into his lap.

"Hey I'm heavy, your legs will hurt again." trying to get up.

Mahavir pulled her back, her hands instantly coiling tightly around Rachel's waist. "My feet are fine. Try calling like that again...."

"This is the office, will anyone see how?" swat Mahavir's hand asking to be released.

"Call first like that....."

"There's no re-broadcast..."

"You want me to do it here?" flirting with Rachel's shoulder.

Rachel frowned then immediately turned her head in light of last night's incident, quickly Rachel took off Mahavir's hand on her waist and immediately got up from her lap. "Don't fuck around here."

Mahavir chuckled softly. "Handering, how can you do it here. I don't want to be seen with them." Pointing at the rows of mannequins facing towards him. A little shudder in horror at the faces of the mannequins who he thinks are creepy. "Aren't you afraid of being alone in this room?"

Rachel laughed while covering her mouth with her hands. "Well, let's go home. You'll dream if you keep seeing it."

"Your job is done?"

"It." Pulling Mahavir's hand to stand. But Mahavir didn't move a bit. "You still want to live here? Want to date them-they?" A little laugh pointed at his mannequin.

"Call the kayak first. I'm gonna...." Say it with spoiled.

Rachel shook her head at Mahavir's indulgence. "I just found out that you're this pampered..."

"I'm still waiting.." still in a spoiled tone.

Rachel sighed, then kissed Mahavir's cheek quickly. "Let meanggkuuu..." Emphasizing his tone on the words dear to Mahavir satisfied. And it is proven that Mahavir smiled with satisfaction.

"Your dear...." Rise up from her seat, and hold Rachel's hand.
