Chapter 3. Caste Gorge

"Khal, I'll take my mother and Dania to the relatives' house later. I want a family event."

"Mother's relatives?" Khalisa who was arranging clothes into the ironing cabinet early this morning, stopped his activities and threw a question word at Dion who was tidying his hair in front of the mirror after a morning shower. "What other event is there? Why do you often hold important events lately?"

"Eitherway. I don't know what event there is either. Mom just told me last night. But you should just wait at home with Afkar as usual. Pity Afkar if it has to be brought. Know for yourself the boy is always stricken with motion sickness. But since it's far away, I plan to stay the night. About three days. Just take it when I go back and forth."

"Why so sudden?" A disappointed tone sounded very obvious ejected from Khalisa's tiny lips. "Where is the show to stay all?"

"At Cilacap. At the house of my cousin's sister. We used to go there when you sniffed Afkar. Still remember, right? The journey there takes three to four hours. If I go back and forth to make anther and pick up mom, I'm gonna be really tired. That's why I want to stay the night" explained Dion still in front of the mirror while styling hair using gel.

Exhaling violently, Khalisa closed the wardrobe and approached her husband who had been at home in the mirror while talking to him.

"When the red date holiday was continued this weekend I wanted to take Afkar to the zoo with you, Mas. For a long time we have not gone together to babysit Afkar for a walk," complained Khalisa lirih. He had been waiting for this moment for a long time, but it seemed that his wishful thinking had to run aground again.

"Well, how else, Khal. Mom's important family events are not every time. If the walk can be another day. Know for yourself, mother does not want to travel far with others, should I deliver. You must have memorized very well about this," he said lightly, pretending not to see the look on Khalisa's face full of hope so that he remained.

Their chatter came to a halt as a stormy knock interrupted behind the door. Khalisa galloped quickly grabbed the doorknob as his ears heard his mother-in-law's voice calling out.

"Yes, Mom. What's up?"

"Khal, look at the wall clock, what time is it?" ketus Wulan with an unsightly expression. "Why haven't you prepared breakfast yet?"

"So you mean, if our holiday is also breakfast off?" the middle-aged woman's debate was fierce.

"It's not so, Mom. But isn't Dania in charge of making breakfast on every holiday? As we have talked about before, which mother and Mas Dion agreed also in order to train Dania to be more independent, " explains Khalisa as it is. Although not infrequently in the middle of Dania making breakfast, Khalisa still have to finish it.

"Yes but you still have to know the situation. You don't know Dania's gonna be taking her semester exam any minute. What kind of an in-law are you? You said Dania was your sister too after you married Dion!" his cerocos with a high tone.

"Why else, Mom?" Dion chimed in, headed for the doorway.

"Your wife is always insensitive. Dania is busy studying, should be more understanding to her own sister-in-law who is seriously preparing for the exam even though your wife never went to college!" wulan's annoyance was not denied by Khalisa.

"True, Mother, Khal. You should be sensitive to situations and conditions. Do not equate college exams with semester breaks during High School. Dania must be very busy right now. As someone more mature than Dania, please you must learn more understanding." Although without high intonation, again Dion defended his mother and sister.

Expanding patience in the chest was all Khalisa could do at this time, followed by a thin nod. In every opportunity has become a subscription always himself is wrong. Also the strata of education that did not get a college seemed to be a gap in this house, like a gap caste gap.

In his little heart, Khalisa wanted Dion to occasionally defend him and of course it was just wishful thinking that erupted in the air. Every time Khalisa complained, the reason of filial piety to the parents was also the reason for Wulan's old illness that Dion threw at him always managed to beat back the urge to voice an opinion, making him lose. For him who grew up in an all-starved home without ever having a parent, very appreciative of the figure of Wulan as Dion's parents even though he swallowed coals in husks.

"Sorry, Mom. I'm mistaken. Then what do you want for breakfast? I prepared," bargained Khalisa still with a smile even while holding a piece in the chest.

"If cooking is long. Just buy breakfast. Mother again wanted to eat ketupat vegetables Bu Marsih sold at the end of the road. Hurry up, don't let go" said Wulan arbitrarily as he breezed away. No matter the increasingly depressed Khalisa facial water to hear the name of Bu Marsih.

Seriate.
