THE CHOICE IN MY LIFE

THE CHOICE IN MY LIFE
SECTION 36

“What!” Tia felt more surprised by the news of Cindy's pregnancy than the news of her husband's affair. Tia wiped away the rest of her tears and looked at her best friend sitting next to her.

“You sure? Since when?”

“I found out just before we met at the cafe that afternoon. I used a pregnancy test before leaving to see you.”

“Why didn't you tell me?” tia's words sounded very worried.

“How can I increase your burden when your household problems are being destroyed. I don't want to add to your mind, Tia.”

“Oh, Cindy.” Tia hugged Cindy warmly and rubbed her back. “You must be suffering alone because no one can listen to your grief.”

“You know that only you I trust. I can't believe the others because they're always two-faced in front of me.” Cindy let go of Tia's embrace slowly. “And I'm fine. Now the most important thing is your problem. You have to solve your problems first, Tia.”

“How many weeks is your pregnancy?” Tia did not listen to the words of her friend.

“I don't know yet, but if I count from the last time I menstruated, it's been week four.”

“Means you're probably about two months pregnant, Cind. From the previous article that I have read, usually the day before the next menstruation it also counted the age of the womb. What if I take you to check today. Also you are permission.”

“Hey . . . hey . . . What the hell is this? Isn't your current problem more important? Why even take care of my pregnancy.”

“Are you getting stupid after you got pregnant, Cindy? Your pregnancy is more important. You will give birth to a child that you must take responsibility for in the future, his health is the most important.”

“Already, rest first. Besides, I've given the doctor's letter to the office so that I can get permission for the next three days. We still have time to check my contents. Go to sleep in my room. We'll chat later.”

Tia followed the advice of her best friend. Tia went into Cindy's room and laid her body in that soft, hardened mattress. It takes time to put his eyes to sleep because too many thoughts are perched in his brain. Not to mention the heartache that is still so strong. With great difficulty, Tia was finally able to fall asleep with the help of the therapeutic scent candle that Cindy had just placed in her room. Cindy realizes that Tia has trouble sleeping. The candle is powerful enough to calm all thoughts that are stricken with worry and sadness.

“Awake up? No more crying?” ask Cindy to Tia. Cindy went into her room with some sandwiches and some warm tea.

“I'm too tired to cry. I think my eyes will be dislodged because of the swelling.” Tia sat leaning on the bed.

“Eat.” Cindy gave me a tray of food and sat down on the bed.

“Fill bread for lunch?”

“Do not protest much, just eat. You are quite chatty for someone who will soon become a widow.”

“Haahhh . . . Is that my next status?” Tia breathed out her heavy breath.

“But I really didn't expect. I thought all this time you loved that jerk guy so much.”

“And you easily want to remove it?”

“I'm not the one who wants to take it off. But it was Mas Gilang who didn't vote for me, Cindy. Why would I keep someone who doesn't want me. That'll make me worse.”

“I was very surprised by Gilang who could so easily leave you.”

“Moreover with me, I don't think I want to believe it, but it's all happening in my life. And you know, Cindy. This morning when I was about to leave the house, Dera was already inside the house and jokingly joked with everyone in the house.”

“Crazy!!! That whole house is crazy. They don't think about your feelings at all.”

“It's okay, Cindy. That way I can be more sure to step away from that house. I was so fragile, I could have just collapsed if Gilang apologized and asked me to come back. But thanks to that I solidified my choice to go.” Tia started to shed her tears.

“Already, Tia. Remove your tears. Your choice is right. You should indeed leave behind a trashy man like Gilang. I'll make him suffer at the office.”

“Do, Cindy. Don't you do that. If you do, you are the same as them. Cautious heart.” Tia looked at Cindy and looked for the truth in her eyes at the words Cindy had just said.

“Iya . . Yeah, I won't do it. You take it easy.” Cindy answered with a sigh.

“Then, what will you do next?”

“While waiting for divorce, I will find a job. I don't have anything, Cind. Everything I have is gone. House, car, money for sale both, even I am not allowed to bring my own things other than my bag and suitcase. Including my motor, stay inside that house.”

“You can stay at my house as you like. Or forever no problem for me.”

“And look!!! That was my word first. If only .. . “ suddenly Cindy's emotions spewed.

“Sssstt! I'm not ready to accept your rant, Cindy.” Tia covered Cindy's mouth with her hand.

Cindy let go of Tia's hand violently, “I don't care. This time I want to be angry with you. If only you listened to me and didn't become a stupid girl.”

“Iya, I am indeed a stupid girl. Already satisfied! And regulate your emotions. You are pregnant, do not let your prospective child imitate your bad habits. Be careful in doing and talking. It can affect him. He is innocent. Don't get sick from her mother's bad disease.” Tia stroked Cindy's stomach which started to slightly enlarge.

“Nak aja, lo!” Cindy threw Tia's hand away from her stomach. They both laughed together because they were grateful to be able to get through each other's grief.

“Thanks for being my best friend, Tia.” Cindy this time grasped Tia's hands tightly and spoke softly.

“I should thank you more. Because you still want to be my best friend.” Tia hugged Cindy with a feeling of gratitude.
