Chapter 37

The breath interlocking. Gerald's sweat had already begun to wash over his face. His group of friends were almost out of breath. Everyone looked tired and upset. Gerald stared cynically at the few people before him.

"Basic jerk," he murmured. While the person in front of them was only smiling triumphantly.

What the hell's going on? Let's go back a few minutes ago. As Gerald and his friends walk down the school aisle in search of the core makers of the other group.

At first they walked around joking. Their steps were accompanied by laughter. No one thought that they had entered into a trap. Their bodies are getting heavier. Their feet were no longer raised, it was like climbing a mountain whose slope was very steep.

The one who first came to his senses was of course Lacy. The girl was the only one who had ever felt this way. Yeah, especially if it's not gravity magic. Lacy instantly shifted her gaze, looking for the person using this magic.

"Do you feel like your steps are too heavy?" ask Kannon.

They all nodded. Emil said, "I think I'm the only one who feels it. Well~ you know, my stamina isn't very good."

"It's gravity magic" whispered Lacy, but it was still heard by the others.

Automatically, they all put up a standby stance. They circulate the view, looking for the culprit. Before long, there was the sound of footsteps echoing in that quiet passageway. A shadow was seen approaching towards them.

The figure walked while clapping. Over time, the figure showed his face. Of course, who else if not Konnie. Although still wrapped in bandages all over his body, we can still recognize him with faded green hair sticking out between his bandages.

"Well, he's like a mummy" whispered Kannon.

"Hello my friends from the group are outcast."

"Well, he's still being arrogant after being mummified by Gerald" whispered Emil.

"Shut up!!!! Because of you my handsome face is covered in this bandage. Shit, if only I didn't let my guard down, I could finish you off quickly," Konny yelled in frustration.

"Yes, that's what losers say after losing to people he thinks are weak" chirped Emil who increasingly made Konny angry.

Konny instantly added the gravitational pressure on them and made them slightly duck so heavily.

"It's because you're Emil. If you don't make him angry, this shoulder won't feel heavier" exclaimed Mage.

Emil bent his face. He was upset at being scolded by his friend, but he also tried to balance his body so as not to get hit with the ground.

"You're getting noisy. Never mind, just hand over your group's core maker. We're going to release all but the core makers, how about an attractive offer, right?" said a girl who was two-pointed next to Konny.

They all exchanged glances, and before long they all laughed. Why are they laughing? It was no big deal, just because the girl's eyes were small and her lips were shaped like a number three.

However, unlike the others, Lacy is still trying to escape from Konny's magic. While everyone is still preoccupied with laughing, Lacy manages to stay away from Konnies magic area. The girl immediately darted behind Konny's friends and knocked them unconscious.

Sounds like broken glass were clearly heard in their ears. Gerald and his friends stopped laughing. Konny and a girl next to him turned her head back. There, the two of them could clearly see their friends who were already lying unconscious on the ground.

Konny looked at Lacy's anger. He instantly made the girl fall to the ground with his quite powerful gravity magic. That of course made his magic that suppressed the movements of Gerald and the others detached.

Without warning, Gerald darted away to save his girlfriend. However, his movements were stopped by the strange-faced girl beside Konny. His body felt stiff and could not move at will.

"You're pretty cute. How about you just be my puppet?" the girl said as she moved her fingers like a marionette doll.

"It's a pity but she's mine."

Kannon casts her water magic into a boomerang and cuts the thin thread that controls Gerald's body.

The strange-faced girl hissed in annoyance. He became even more angry that Kannon dared to challenge him.

"How dare the holder of elemental magic fight my magic contoller!!"

"Ha, you're the one weaker than me. The owner of the magic controller can also lose to the owner of the magic builder. Don't you remember why the person next to you was wrapped in a bandage like a mummy? It's because he lost to the magic owner you guys thought was weak."

Kannon could no longer stand being treated like a weakling. He continued to provoke the strange-faced girl until she finally directed her magic at the still dumbfounded Mage.

Just like Gerald before, even the Mage's body could not move at will. He kept shouting for help as his body approached Cecilia for no reason. Of course, it made Cecilia panic. The girl didn't know what to do. He could only stand there staring in tears as he looked at the approaching Mage.

Emil who could not bear to see that, immediately darted towards the strange-faced girl to make her faint. However, before that happened, his body had also been controlled by the girl. So did Ladon and Kannon. Ladon even took out his bomb magic without cause and slapped the bomb right between Cecilia and Mage. Made the two men bounce and hit the wall.

Emil took out his net magic to bind Kannon and threw her quite far away from the place. The strange-faced girl clucked in annoyance. He is angry that Emil managed to get out of his magic thanks to an explosion from Ladon's magic. The young man even distanced Kannon from his magic range.

Then, where's Gerald? Of course he went to help the girl of his heart. But stupidly, he entered into Konny's gravity magic range and made his steps even heavier. Yeah, it seems like he's not thinking straight now.

Konny smiled at his smile. He said, "Pevi, quickly finish them off. I'll make this fool regret for challenging me."

"Basic jerk," whispered Gerald.

"Ha, blame yourself for attacking the wrong person. A weak witch like you shouldn't challenge a person who's been blessed since birth like me."

Gerald's anger is mounting. He started to grit his teeth. His hands were perfectly clenched. His pale yellow magic light began to envelop his body.

Seeing that, Konnie laughed out loud. He again scoffs at Gerald. He said that the light of his magic is what indicates the ability between him and Gerald is very different.

"I don't know why you're so obsessed with this nulla."

Konny approaches Lacy who is still on the ground due to her gravity magic. The young man raised Lacy's face by holding her chin. Can be seen behind the bandage, if he is smiling cunningly see the beautiful face of Lacy's.

"Don't you touch Lacy's face with your dirty hands" Gerald cried.

"Dirty hands? I just didn't do anything. Why are you getting so angry?"

Konny lifts Lacy's body easily and makes her face Gerald who is still having trouble walking. While displaying a sly smile that could not be seen due to the bandage, Konny took out a small knife from her magic bag and placed it right on the edge of Lacy's neck.

"I wonder if I hurt this girl, would you go on a rampage like that?"

"Stop it" said Gerald slowly.

Konny began to press the tip of the knife into Lacy's beautiful neck. A speck of blood started flowing from the wound. Lacy was silent. He can't wiggle. His body feels heavy. In fact, to take the sword that was slung around his waist he could not.

Lacy swore in my heart. In the end, he came back useless to his group. He can only be a burden. Suppose he had magic, he would have already escaped from this cheap gravity magic.

"Hey, you're interrupting my path."

A voice turned their eyes all away. Konny turned his head towards the voice that was right behind him. There, he could see a tall man in a dirty and shabby robe staring at them.

"Do you know where the principal's office is?" ask the man.

They all just fell silent. No one wants to answer the man's question. They seemed to feel an extremely terrifying air coming out of his body.

"Are you mute?" ask the man again.

The man looked out his eyes. His eyes immediately fixated on Gerald who was still struggling to walk. Pointing at Gerald, he said, "Oh, I remember you. You're the one who got lost in the woods, right? Do you know where the principal's office is? I have important business with him."

"D-at the end of the corridor, then turn left," he said hesitantly.

The man nodded his head. He passes Konny, Lacy, and Gerald with ease. Though, Konny's gravity magic is still active and the man is in his magic range.

Seeing that, Konnie could only stare. However, he did not want to bother about the man just now. The bandaged young man pressed Gerald to the ground until he was unconscious. Konny also hits Lacy on the nape to knock her unconscious.

Casually, Konnie and the strange-faced girl left them unconscious on the cold floor of the hallway.

Suddenly, the sound of a flick of a finger rang out in Konnies ears. The sight of Gerald and his fallen friends, turns into Gerald who is ready to hit him in the face.

"Huh?"

Haven't had a chance to react to anything, Konny's been beaten by Gerald. So even with the strange-looking girl, she was tied up with a thicket belonging to Mao and made unconscious by Lacy.

"What's going on? Why am I getting beat up by this loser? He should have lost. Why is it like this?" konny shouted inwardly as he continued to be beaten by Gerald.

Konny can't dwell because he's too confused. He continued to be beaten by Gerald until he fainted, and a sound like shards of glass was heard again.

Before long, there was a sound like an announcement coming out of the flying creatures above their heads.

"Konny and his friends fell in the test. Konnie and his friends fell in the test. The remaining groups: 18 groups. The remaining group: 18 groups."

Gerald and Lacy stared at the creature. That sound is disturbing. I want them to destroy that device.

"Let's go. How long are you guys gonna pretend to faint?" exclaim Gerald.

"Pretend to faint you said? I was actually thrown by that pink head. My body hurts all" Kannon complained.

"Still mending you I saved. You don't know thank you" said Emil.

"Oh, I'm so grateful you saved me. But, not in a way thrown far away. What do you think you're a long thrower?"

Gerald scratched his ears which he heard the babbling of Emil and Kannon. They were too noisy, he thought. Their quarrels are like a couple who have been married for decades.

"Here you go, let's continue this test. We can't lose" said Mage, who mediates Emil and Kannon, who are like cats and dogs.

"Yes, let's continue the hunt" said Gerald excitedly.

Finally, they all walked away leaving Konny and the others lying just like that on the floor of the corridor. They did not even realize that they had been noticed by the mysterious man in a shabby robe earlier.

While smiling, he said, "You owe me for helping you."

His eyes were red, burning brightly in the darkness. He pulled the hood of the robe to cover his face and went towards the headmaster's room while chuckling.
