Feeling alone in the crowd, that was what Mirza was feeling right now. The number of people who passed in front of him did not heed. In fact, the voice of the phone that had been ringing since did not distract him.
He sat glued staring at the white building that loomed before him. Slowly, he leaned his head against the back of the chair. Trying to calm his heart and mind, which today feels increasingly tangled with no meaningful way out.
Still ringing in his ears, the soft voice of Om Handoko shortly after he woke up from a coma.
"Om trust Gweny with you" said Om Handoko with a breath of breath. Oxygen hose and heart rate trigger device is still installed in his weak body.
"Om scared, can't take care of her anymore." The look of those hopeful eyes could not make Mirza speechless.
"Om wants to see Gweny happy .. with his loved ones." Om Handoko's voice was heard getting louder in Mirza's ear.
"Mir ...," Om Handoko paused her speech.
"Can Om ask for one request?" om Handoko's hand slowly moved. He grabbed the hand of Mirza who was sitting next to his bed. Only Mirza and Om Handoko are there, because Om Handoko wants to speak only four eyes.
"What Om ?" ask her with a frowning forehead.
"Married to Gweny." one sentence that left Mirza agape.
Mirza squeezed her hair, she felt frustrated. His head was getting throbbing pain. How can he promise to marry Gweny, while he should be responsible for his mistakes to Alula.
He does not want to be considered as a breng sek man who does not want to be responsible. But, he also did not want to be considered as a man who broke his promise. Then, what should he do at the moment.
If Mirza is honest, admitting the mistake he has done to Alula, he is afraid that Om Handoko's condition is getting worse.
And what he was more afraid of was the reaction of Mama Indri when she found out her only child made a big mistake. He was afraid that he would make Mama Indri disappointed, until anfal, and ended up in the hospital because he was too surprised.
But, if he were to marry Gweny, it would be very unfair for Alula. Just because of his blind jealousy towards Yanuar, Mirza had made a fatal mistake.
"Argh .., "erang Mirza. He rubbed his face rough.
"You don't have to fulfill my Papa Mir's wish !" gweny's voice sounded from behind. Mirza turned her head, finding Gweny standing while looking at her.
"I don't want to be a burden to you." continued Gweny with a sad look.
Gweny was sure that the Papa must have talked about their matchmaking. Gweny wouldn't, if Mirza married her out of compulsion.
"Gwen," called Mirza to Gweny who was still in her place.
Mirza looked at Gweny's sad face, looking deeply sad from her eyes.
"I .., "Gweny did not continue his words. Her tears have now broken from her mouth.
Mirza invites Gweny to sit next to her, she understands Gweny's current feelings. Losing the most loved one makes him more sensitive to the feelings of others.
"I'm .. I'm just afraid of losing my Papa Mir." Gweny could not help but stifle her grief, and she finally cried in Mirza's arms.
Not even his cries subsided, the sound of the phone ringing distracted the two. Mirza took the phone in her pants pocket.
He was stunned, when he heard a trembling voice mixed with the mother across the phone.
"I .. Yes Ma," Mirza replied in a choked voice.
Mirza turned to look at Gweny with an unreadable look, before finally saying,
"Gwen, we have to go to Om Handoko's room immediately" he said to Gweny, who was looking at him questioningly.
...****************...
"Huh?"
"WELL." RIGHT."
Although in a simple, sudden condition, it is also held in a hospital room. And only attended by a few staff doctors as a witness, an ustadz, also a penghulu. However, the atmosphere of a simple wedding took place solemnly.
The sense of haru, sadness, also deep loss mixed into one in Gweny's heart. Well, she was moved because she finally got married to the man she loved.
On the other hand, Gweny also felt sad. Because at that time he had to lose the Papa as his first love for her. Never before had Gweny had to lose the person she loved the most so quickly.
If you can choose, of course Gweny will release Mirza than have to lose the figure of Papa who since childhood treated himself tirelessly.
But fate played itself. Because when Gweny really wanted to let go of Mirza, he was tied up in an impromptu marriage before the Papa left.
Gweny resigned, speechless. He could only cry when he heard the Papa again asking Mirza to marry him. However, he finally felt relieved because this was the last request from the Papa before he left for good.
The funeral procession is over, the people who helped deliver the body of Om Handoko to the final resting place have also dispersed. Including Pa Sanjaya and also Mama Indri who since the first day Om Handoko was hospitalized continued to accompany Gweny.
Gweny was still silent, staring at the wooden slats with the name of the Papa carved. Although he was calm, he still cried in silence. It was hard to accept the harsh reality he had just experienced.
Mirza sat down beside Gweny, accompanying him in silence. He stroked the shoulder of Gweny who is now his wife. Giving strength is also encouragement for him. No matter how cold Mirza is, he is still a man who can never see a woman crying.
"It's late in the afternoon, we go home" said Mirza Lirih right in Gweny's ear.
Gweny was stunned when Mirza said the word 'we'. She forgot, that from today, she is the wife of Mirza Permana Mahesa. The man he loved since he was in school.
Shouldn't he be happy ? but I don't know why it feels so meaningless. Because it should be, the Papa is happy with this day. The day I have been looking forward to for many years.
"I .. yes," said Gweny stiffly as Mirza helped him to his feet.
They returned to Mahesa's residence, Mama Indri and Pa Sanjaya welcomed Gweny's presence as a daughter-in-law in their home.
But not with Mirza, he is still with the same attitude. Cold, and not caring. He prefers to go into his room, and leave Gweny with Mama Indri just like that.
The mood of grief still Gweny felt, plus Mirza's indifference made his heart even more depressed.
Mama Indri escorted Gweny to her son's room, the room that Gweny belonged to as well.
"You're why Mir, my own wife was left behind." Grutu Mama Indri when opening the door of her son's room. However, Mirza was not seen inside her room.
After the departure of Mama Indri, Gweny felt confused about what to do. It felt awkward, because this was the first time he had entered Mirza's room.
Gweny circulated his gaze, researching into every corner of the room. But he found Mirza nowhere. Where did that man go ? Could Mirza be avoiding him ?
Gweny turned to the curtain cloth that was exposed because of the wind, he saw the door to the balcony open.
Slowly, Gweny stepped towards the door. He was stunned when he found Mirza asleep on the sofa on the balcony of his room, the corner of his eyes look wet. Did Mirza just cry ?
But Gweny's tears suddenly decayed, when he accidentally heard Mirza's voice in the middle of his sleep.
"I'm sorry, La," said Mirza with her eyes closed. "i.e. .. dear to you."
