Once they reached their destination, Qiuyue ordered the flying ship to descend.
"That mortal in the middle of nowhere?" Su Yang looked down as they descended, and the only ones in his sight were the dry trees and dead earth without any green color even on the horizon.
"This is the environment for most of the Southern Continent, with half of the population living in an ancient lifestyle" Qiuyue told him, as he had crossed the continent more than once.
As they got closer to the ground, Su Yang could see many figures standing below with their gaze towards the flying ship.
There were about 50 people, and all of them were women with tanned skin.
"They…?" ask Su Yang.
"They are from a tribe that has settlements around here. Portals are also in their area. I only know them a little, so I don't know much" Qiuyue said.
"Hmm ..." Su Yang nodded.
As soon as they landed, everyone waiting below approached their flying boat and made a prostration on the ground.
"Welcome back, Goddess!" They all shouted in a respectful tone.
"Goddess…?" Su Yang and Hong Yu'er turned to look at Qiuyue with a strange face, whose face was flushed red now.
"Um ... I can explain this ... sort of ..." Qiuyue quickly spoke in confusion. "I don't know why, but they started calling me that when I first showed up, and I didn't bother to fix it."
"Calling you a Goddess is not wrong, because you are from the Temple of the Holy Moon." Su Yang spoke with a smile. "By the way, where's that portal?"
When Su Yang spoke casually to Qiuyue, the people there looked at him in shock. In fact, everyone there looked at him with a puzzled expression. It was almost like they had never seen a man before.
"What's wrong with them?" Hong Yu'er raised his eyebrows. "They see you like they want to eat you."
"Because they live mostly in isolation, they don't often see guests. Most importantly, almost everyone living in the Southern Region has a tanned body, so our jade-like white skin is rare, especially in this area."
"And also ..." Qiuyue looked at Su Yang's handsome face and charming appearance. She will draw attention wherever she goes and whatever she does, especially with women.
A while later, Qiuyue took the two of them to the 'portal', and a group of natives followed behind them.
"This is the portal …?" Su Yang looked at the portal that was shaped like a huge mirror in front of him.
It was a silver mirror that was slightly larger than its own size, but instead of the glass in the middle, it was pure darkness.
"What do you think, Lingxi?" Su Yang asked her after checking the portal for a moment.
Hong Yu'er nodded and said, "Although it is only a little, I can, without a doubt, feel the spiritual energy possessed by the Four Divine Heavens emanating from it."
Su Yang nodded, "Now we have to find out its origin and how safe it is—"
Just as he said those words, the portal began to tremble.
"W-What's going on?" Ask Qiuyue.
A few seconds later, the mirror began to spin and bend, as if it was being devoured by space itself.
And right before their eyes, the mirror disappeared into thin air.
"W-What just happened ?! Where did the portal go?" Qiuyue was confused by the sudden situation.
"Goddess, if it may be .." One of the natives suddenly began to speak, "The mortal that the Goddess referred to is called the Mirror of Darkness, and the, and it shows up every two years and only for a few hours before it disappears again."
"No way ... So we have to wait another two years before it shows up again?" Qiuyue.
"I'm afraid so .." The natives nodded their heads.
"Tell me more about this Dark Mirror," Su Yang suddenly approached him and said. "What is the origin of the mirror?"
"Y-Y-Yeah!" The natives suddenly began to blush with agitated movements. "Although we don't know when it first appeared, it was first discovered 500 years ago. It would appear every two years for several hours, before disappearing, and had been following this routine at all times for the past 500 years."
"Do you know where it leads?" Su Yang continued to ask.
"T-No!" The natives quickly shook their heads. "Thousands of people from various tribes over the years have entered the Dark Mirror, but no one has returned to this day."
"Although some speculate that the Dark Mirror leads to the other side of the universe, there are others who believe there is no purpose and only death awaits those who enter darkness." said the resident.
"I understand .. thank you." Su Yang nodded and continued. "While it is unfortunate that we will have to wait another two years before the Dark Mirror reappears, at least we have a clue now. For now, we should try to investigate as much as possible regarding this portal and place."
Qiuyue nodded.
"Hey baby." Hong Yuer suddenly said. "I have to get back to my original body in half a year. If you don't return after 2 years, I will use all my resources to try and find this place so that I can bring you back. If you think the portal is too dangerous, I will organize a search group as soon as I return."
Su Yang nodded, "Thank you, but until I investigate more about this Dark Mirror, I won't try and come back carelessly. After all, my greatest concern and reason for returning has been resolved."
"You mean ... The Asura God Clan against a Heavenly Emperor?" hong Yu'er said.
Su Yang shook his head and said with a smile, "No – I worry about you."
"Darling ..." Hearing such words, Hong Yu'er flushed and cried a little.
"…" Qiuyue watched them with a serious expression, feeling envious of their relationship.
A while later, Su Yang turned his head and looked at the natives who were secretly watching them from a distance and said, "If you don't mind, then, can you tell us more about this place and anything related to the Dark Mirror."
The natives looked at each other before one of them stepped forward and bowed, "If you have any questions, feel free to ask us."
Su Yang nodded and said, "For a start, why don't we change the location?"
"In that case, allow us to guide you to our settlement" said the native girl.
