David and Pearl were sitting by the river.
Pearl tells David about what she has been going through for over twenty years.
David listened quietly and did not speak.
"Trs. Lidell, am I not stupid? I give them whatever they want! If I didn't have money, I would just lend it from someone else and save up to repay the loan, ” asked Pearl after finishing.
