..."Dear Lady Quinn, I've got all the information you want. Hopefully we can work together again someday....
...I have all the evidence in it. If I'm happy, can we meet again? I'm very interested in doing business with you."...
^^^—Blackrose^^^
About that was the sound of a short message Quinn received from Rupert. Not only that small note, in the envelope there were several sheets of reports that Rupert had finished investigating. Just last night he received the shipment that came along with a letter from Penelope.
On his first arrival to Blackrose that night, Quinn did not ask Rupert to investigate Vincent but rather Gray Morrison. Quinn felt that he could use Penelope to search for data and evidence because she was the one who lived in the house with Vincent. In order to shorten the work, Quinn finally had Rupert investigate the matter of the greatest drug thief in the Helldelune.
Gray Morrison is married to Kaisen's distant cousin. For the royal family, a female member of the family if married to a man who is not from among the nobility then must give up her noble status and is not allowed to stay in the palace anymore. Not that it's hostile, it's just a rule. Not all families hate members who prefer to get out of the royal luxury life.
From her marriage to Kaisen's cousin, she was awarded a son whom she named Christian. However, due to a dispute that occurred not long after the celebration of the victory of the war, someone overthrew Gray's wife who then got the stamp of rebel. He was dragged back and somehow his fate is now.
To save himself and his son, Gray puts Christian in an orphanage close to the temple and for a while Gray needs to hide himself. During the preparation period, he often returned to Helldelune to supervise Christian's development by pretending to be a teacher in teaching about treatment through processed herbal plants.
That was Gray's journey to finally be able to work in the palace. The most prominent speculation is that Gray is trying to find his wife either alive or not, he needs to know the news of the wife.
The main thing Quinn knew was that Gray was instead trapped inside the palace without being able to move freely because he did not know he was going to face the great wall. All Gray's information is in Raiden's hands and the poor man's life is now in the Crown Prince's hands.
Quinn lived in a dungeon for six months before he was sentenced to death. There was one cell opposite him, filled only by an equally shabby woman. He looks like a bone covered in skin. Her purplish hair was already very tangled, just like her worn-out dress.
"Mr Gray, can I help you?"
The man with the mustache allowed his glasses to barely fall and stand up again upright. "You seem to have mispronounced. I didn't need any help and about my student, he was such a smart kid that I was trying to explore his potential. To be honest I've considered him like a real child myself." Gray's rebuttal looks natural. For people who do not have evidence may be fooled by the calm nature of the man.
Quinn handed Gray a small handwritten letter stating to the parlour to name him after Christian's birth name and raise him well.
"Then, can you still deny even if you wrote this letter and put it in Christian's baby basket?" Quinn took out a small paper containing a note of the new potion that Gray had placed on the table and aligned it with the letter he was carrying. Both posts are very similar because the one who wrote them is indeed the same person.
Gray clenched his fist inside his pants pocket. Silence is not the right way to avoid Quinn. "You must also know that handwriting is the same as newspaper printing, it can be exactly the same. Not that the one who writes is the same person."
"The picture of this tulip is exactly the same as the flower you displayed there," Quinn pointed to the tulip in the vase. The girl continued, "If not wrong, tulips are flowers that describe the affection between family members who love each other. This flower is suitable to be used as a gift on mother's day. Mr. Gray wants Christian to remember his mother with the flower even though he doesn't know what it means."
"..."
"Have you gotten the results of the struggle of being a drug dealer here? how's your wife doing?"
There was nothing more Gray could deny. As a result, the man can only comment on a sad smile. "Lady, you really have investigated me, yes."
"Not really. I know very little about Mr. Gray" Quinn took back the letter Rupert had lent from the orphanage. "There's a chance Princess Leticia's still alive."
His heart stopped for a second. His eyes opened wide when he heard Quinn say his wife's name. "How can you conclude that? in all the years I worked here, I never once had any information about my wife" Gray was not scolding Quinn, he just wanted to make sure that Quinn had evidence of Leticia so that the glimmer of hope that appeared in his heart did not immediately fade away.
"Have you forgotten? no one dares to say anything to you because this is the palace and Princess Leticia is a member of the royal family, even though she has already given up her status. As much as possible they cover the disgrace caused by the royal lineage."
"You said my wife was alive. Where do you know that?" Gray looks very impatient. The wait seemed like it had met a bright spot.
I can't tell you that I saw it in the past.
Quinn raised her hand to invite Gray to shake each other, saying, "I'll tell you everything I know. It's not free, you have to do what I want. Hows it? still interested in continuing this discussion?"
"...."
Meanwhile, Floyd was still sitting by the river, taking shelter while watching the bottle of serum that Quinn had given him. In check repeatedly even the result remained the same, it was indeed a bottle of palace medicine. It was not impossible that Quinn could get it easily considering the person he approached was Raiden the future King. However, Floyd's question is how did Quinn get the potion Gray made?
A guard came to break Floyd's daydream. "Mr Floyd. I heard from Nola that you have found a medicine bottle here and asked us to come. You want me to investigate her?"
The thin, sharp eyebrows belonging to the white-haired youth raised in confusion, "Who did you hear from?"
"Nola...?"
"Huh, apparently he's still reckless. I think he passed out for real." His mind surrendered. Floyd inevitably had to follow the direction of Quinn's game even though he was reluctant. "Yes, here's the bottle. I found it around here, can you ask anyone who goes here often? I'm a little tired, so I'll wait."
"All right, Mr. Floyd. I'll do it soon."
"He looks like a different person. What's he planning? I hope he's self-conscious, the one in his opponent is a prince."
Sarah, the waiter who is a friend of Nola has come to bring a dress mixed purple and black which is quite luxurious. "Who? why can't it be opened? where did Nola go? you know, that kid always messes up."
Knocks several times at the door are not heard. "Nola? Nola! you're not inside?!" Sarah clucked in annoyance. He reached into the pocket of his uniform to check that he might have a spare key, "Well there. Thankfully I have the key."
Sarah opens the door, afraid that Quinn might run away or something. "L-lady?" it turns out that Quinn is warming herself in front of the already lit fireplace, while Nola delicately falls asleep on the sofa without paying attention to Quinn.
"You've been a long time, I've been so cold." Quinn's face looked a little pale.
Sarah immediately bowed deeply, regretting her friend's very disrespectful behavior towards their guests. "Please forgive me, Lady. I took too long to get the dress. I'll help you put it on immediately, "but before helping, Sarah first wakes up Nola, who is sleeping in front of Quinn.
"Nola! Nola, get up! you don't forget your duty, dong!" whispered Sarah with emphasis. He repeatedly shook the body of his workmate and just got a small whimper response, "What the hell? you're a nuisance.." The noise is scratching your head, unaware of the situation.
"Hey! that's right! we have to help Lady change clothes!" Sarah looked down at the dirty part of her friend's skirt.
"It seems like he accidentally knocked out the ashes in the fireplace," Quinn who helped answered him. Sarah does not know what to say because she is very ashamed of Nola's behavior. If Quinn gets to report, it's their history. "No problem, you can go out with him. I'll change my own clothes."
"But Lady..."
"I can do it myself, don't worry."
Sarah had to slap Nola's cheek tightly until the owner complained of pain. "Sick, know! why did you slap me?"
"You still have a chance to get angry, huh?! look how disrespectful you are sleeping on the couch while Lady Quinn is cold and sitting on the front floor of the fireplace!"
Sarah drags Nola out of there while continuing to nag her like a mother upset by her son's behavior.
"Thankfully I came back in time. That Floyd, apparently he's still willing to take on the role."
Quinn took off her clothes that had smelled musty due to the wet, "The quickest way to conquer an opponent was to hold onto his weakness. I'm not dissatisfied, I'm so glad my plan went well" she rolled her hair so as not to have trouble pulling the zipper on her back. He smiled faintly as he recalled Gray's last expression, "if you look around Mr. Gray is already very desperate. He said he wanted to gather his family members again? what a bold dream."
{We need help again, Quinn?}
A spirit spirit with a bluish light surrounded him. He was a spirit spirit who lived in the water of the river palace, it seemed that he immediately liked and wanted to stick to Quinn. "Oh, can? thanks for helping me."
{I'm glad to be close to you. Your aura is as soothing as the spirit god.}
That spirit after helping to raise the zipper of Quinn's dress instantly sat on her shoulders. "Is it okay for you to keep following me like this?"
{I'll be back in the river when you get home. Too bad, even though I want to linger chatting with you~}
Quinn almost thought that the spirit spirit was like a spoiled pet. However, he immediately dismissed his ridiculous thoughts.
{But I can come at any time to you if you call my name, loh.}
"So the spirits also have names?"
{Of course there are, our names tend to be very short. If you know our names, we'll be able to bond with you, so wherever you are, we can reach you.}
"That's fascinating. Then may I know what your name is?"
{My name is Vynx. Remember that yes!!}
"Well, Vynx."
{There's a come!}
The little spirit immediately disappeared a moment after Quinn could already hear footsteps approaching the door.
"... Raiden?"
The door of the guest room was wide open and revealed a tall figure as high as Raiden, his hair looked a little messy but his clothes were still very neat. Her flat face as usual looked at Quinn in front of the fireplace. "I heard you fell into the river."
Quinn nodded innocently, "Yes, I fell down from not holding on. Raiden, are you done with the meeting?" quinn asked with a smile.
"It's just finished and I'm heading straight here when I hear you're falling."
Raiden closed the door and removed the tie and brooch that felt suffocating. "Huh, I'm pretty tired of dealing with those delinquents." The delinquents in question are members of the palace ministry consisting of several nobles of various castes. They often complicate a problem that should be quickly resolved. Raiden could have taken full control of the meeting, but it would have shown clearly that Raiden had shown no sign of being a good Ethereal King.
Raiden suddenly rested his head on Quinn's boat while sighing, "Quinn, do you think I can continue my father's work?"
Quinn's face turned cold, "Of course. You'd be great, anyway if you ran away from your responsibilities it looked really uncool."
Want to act like you want to give up on the throne? that's ridiculous. I'm sure you've realized that I'm no longer chasing you too much, which is why you're drawing my sympathy so I can stay by your side to take my life.
Raiden raised his face, his two large arms moved to hold two sides of Quinn's tiny shoulders. "Your body is still cold. Did they just light a fireplace for you? I have to punish them for not being able to take good care of you."
"No, no, Raiden. You misunderstood. They've taken good care of me, I can't stand the warm temperatures so I just got closer to the fireplace so the new dress doesn't get wet."
Quinn clasped both hands of Raiden, her cheeks slightly flushed. The girl continued to turn her gaze towards the floor, "S-actually if you're not tired, I'd like to invite you to pick a dress for me to wear later during your birthday party."
Raiden showed a shady look, a soft smile imprinted on his thin lips. Quinn always looks so cute when she's shy. The young man reflexively kissed Quinn's forehead briefly before finally answering, "Wait what else? we better get going now, Quinn."
The young man did not hesitate to hold Quinn's hand out of the room towards the front door of the palace. Raiden asked his servant to prepare a horse carriage immediately.
Honestly, Quinn had felt an old tremor in her heart appear again. "That seems sincere. Don't be fooled, he's a man of falsehood" Quinn thought.
"By the way, Lady Penelope has no intention of going to Helldelune again?" ask Raiden.
Quinn shrugged lightly, "Maybe he'll come again on your birthday. I heard she was busy working on the flower business in her glass house again," Quinn's firm grip made Raiden look up at her. "You're with me, why do you talk about other people that easily."
"Sorry, sorry. I'm just curious, he's a good guy. I just want to add a friend."
Soon the palace chariot was ready and they did not delay the time to leave for the boutique near Bastien's painting studio, which had now been handed down to Quinn.
The shop is a pretty famous boutique. In addition to its strategic place, the dresses sold are very fashionable. The noble ladies often gathered there to all ask for recommendations.
The arrival of Raiden along with Quinn became the spotlight of many people. The two are often seen together on various occasions but do not formalize relationships such as engagement or marriage.
Quinn's overt attitude towards Raiden led public opinion that the Crown Prince deliberately did not formalize the relationship because he felt Quinn was not a suitable partner to be a companion, especially filling the Ethereal Queen position.
"Raiden, I'm confused as to which dress to choose. Can you help me? everything is so good."
"Then, why don't you just buy everything that catches your attention?"
"That's the same as waste."
Raiden chuckled softly, Quinn would pout all day if she did not comply with his wishes. "Alright, well, I'll help you find a dress that suits you."
Raiden also came closer to the row of soft pastel-colored dresses to match the personality of the wearer.
For a while I hid you here. I have to be the bait first.
Quinn took on another row that was darker in color. The dress was placed near the entrance. The wide window of the boutique allows anyone out there to look inside.
The long-haired girl gave a faint grin when she felt someone was looking at her from the window. Quinn just pretended not to see. "So she's finally here" Quinn said, lifting a blue dongker dress from the hanger.
The doorbell hanging at the top of the door rang, indicating that another customer had entered.
"Well, look who's buying the dress. Long time no see, Lady Quinn."
A woman with a menor dress up covered her mouth with a hand fan, she greeted Quinn with two other friends.
"Oh, there's Baroness Viridescens. Good day."
