I Will Be The New Me

I Will Be The New Me
CHAPTRE 48

Sruk

There was a sound of someone just coming down from a tree branch in front of Quinn's balcony. A man standing in front of the balcony door in all black clothes and face coverings, he glanced back and forth before opening the door.

"He's sleeping. It's the perfect time to kill him." the man's eyes flashed in the darkness of Quinn's room.

He slowly approached the large bed where a girl was sleeping on her side and turned her back. Judging from his body moving regularly, the owner of the room was clearly asleep. He did not even wake up even though the man with hidden identity landed quite steadily on the balcony floor.

The man made Quinn's half-covered body of the blanket recumbent so that he could stab the girl in the chest.

"Death now!"

He raised his sword blade up high and gathered the energy in both of his hands.

Jleb

In his shadow he had already managed to hit Quinn's heart, but the opposite happened. The girl opened her eyes wide, her golden irises lit up brightly and looked at him with a murderous gaze. The blue dagger that Quinn was holding had already managed to pierce the man's waist.

Quinn pulled out her dagger and as quickly as lightning kicked the deep marks of the puncture to the point of making the man groan in pain and finally fall to the floor. "Don't underestimate your opponent if you don't want to end up dead" Quinn stomped on the neck of the man whose face-covering cloth was now exposed. "Tell me who sent you!"

The man groaned painfully, he had no intention of answering Quinn's question and tried to injure the girl's leg. It was a pity that his sword was not reached by his hand.

Quinn crouched over the head of the man who was a murderer while putting a dagger right in the middle of his forehead, "I might be able to figure it out myself by pulling out your brain." Quinn threatened with a sharp glare.

"Curtain! you will be more useful when you are no longer alive! your departure will bring peace to the world!"

"Hm, is that it? but I don't know yet what kind of hell suits me. Can you check it out first?" Quinn hurt the man's neck to get him to open his mouth.

"Aragh!"

"Uncle Vincent's been moving this fast, yeah. How else, he won't calm down until I disappear from his sight."

"Hm? why is it so quiet?" Quinn looked down at the man who was already sprawled. One eyebrow raised, "I didn't make a fatal wound to let him know who ruled over him, but why did he die so easily?"

Quinn turned Vynx into his original form, "Thank you. You can come back."

"Wait on! has he been biting poison in anticipation of being cornered?!"

Quinn immediately opened the lifeless man's mouth again and a small pearl rolled out. "This is installed on the back teeth that have been removed. If he pressed the pearl into his hole it could make someone die."

{It contains spirit power, Quinn.}

Quinn chuckled, "Raiden huh? though he hasn't seen my new appearance, yet he still insists on seizing my power with these sacred objects."

Quinn breaks Raiden's neck and drops him from the balcony of his room, he did additional damage to the corpse to cover up the fact that Quinn had fought him off and made others who discovered it assume that the man had fallen down on his own.

"It's weak. Raiden will definitely ask for a more talented person after knowing I've always escaped his emissary."

Next morning...

Emily had already finished preparing the bath water and now it was time for Quinn to get ready before breakfast.

"Your Highness Quinn, it's time you built it...n, you know?" Emily was surprised that Quinn had changed clothes and was sitting down reading a book on her bedroom couch. "Have you been up since?" ask Emily.

Quinn waved hinting at her servant to get closer, "pour the nightgown down there. Let no one see."

"Okay, Your Majesty."

Emily walked to the bed and pulled a dress that was just lying down there. The girl gasped in surprise when she saw that the white dress had been soaked in blood, "Y-Your Majesty..."

Quinn placed her index finger in front of the lips that formed that smile, "can you burn it in the fireplace of this room? I'll give you a ring."

Emily gulped with great difficulty, "S-I understand, Your Majesty." There was nothing he could do but obey. Well, after all he did not lose it was very profitable.

The ones who found the man's body were the remaining servants of Raiden's spy. They were indeed tasked with helping the man by keeping away the people who were protecting Quinn so that the messenger Raiden's men could kill without anyone interfering.

"W-how can it be like this?"

"He fell from upstairs?"

"His neck is pretty bad. It seems he didn't have time to attack."

"What should we do? don't let the Knights see this."

"Let's move it now. We have to dump her body somewhere else."

Quinn accompanied by Emily walked over. "What are you doing whispering there?" quinn's voice made the three maids aghast in shock.

They hurriedly covered the corpse. "N-nothing, Your Majesty. We're just having a discussion, is it good that the fence plants here are cut a little to make it neater."

When Quinn stuck out her head trying to peek, they hurriedly got in the way by holding Quinn's hand, "Y-Your Majesty, the weather outside is cold enough, you'd better get in."

"What are you guys hiding back there?"

"Nothing, there's just a bird carcass that looks like it just fell out of a tree. We'll clean it up soon, you better get in. Emily, take His Highness Quinn in."

"Okay, butler."

Quinn turned away and put on a slanted smile, "just try to hide it. I've been satisfied seeing her since last night." thought Quinn happy.

The temple will be closed for two days in memory of the Great Priest who just died yesterday. It is said that he had a heart attack and was exhausted in excess. Christian certainly feels very guilty, why have the ability to concoct drugs if the closest person can not help? his mentality was slightly shaken because there were many things he was thinking about.

"What procession does Pastor Halsen mean?" mumbling itself.

"Hey, Christian!" someone came astounding from behind. It was Jeremiah, a fellow representative of the Great Priestess. The young man sat in the garden seat with Christian. "You mustn't ponder for too long and be sad, don't we know that the gods have joined them? Reverend Halsen will not lack anything, so we must be sincerely accepting" he said in a statement.

Christian smiled as he nodded, "thank you, I've felt better."

"I don't want to say this right now, but it looks like you're going to continue as the Great Priestess because you're her representative."

"I don't deserve to be one of them. I don't mind if you fill that vacancy, "Christian's still thinking about how he'll take care of his drugstore if he changes the position of Grand Priest.

Jeremiah shook his head steadily, "Actually I am not interested in a higher position. I should still have a good sleep schedule, so if I get the offer I'll reject— as well"

"Hm? what's?" jeremiah asked, curious.

"Will in the near future in our city there be a certain procession?" Christian hopes that what he thinks is not right.

"He said the Crown Prince will soon hold the coronation procession and take over all of his father's duties officially."

Christian and Jeremiah jumped in shock. Because the answer that sounded did not come from the two of them, but from someone who whispered in their midst. "F-Finn?! since when are you in this park?" christian asked a little annoyed.

"I thought I was going to die a hanger." Jeremiah muttered as he stroked his rumbling chest.

The brown-haired youth gave a wide grin while showing a 'peace' mark with his two fingers. "You guys are serious, I think you're discussing something horror. Is this old temple starting to get haunted?" finn asked half mockingly.

He did not hesitate to sit in the midst of the high, clean priests. Christian glanced at Finn from top to bottom, "you're so dirty and shabby like a pig freshly soaked in a mud pit, you must have played with them in the woods" Christian scathingly criticized.

"Huh?! what did you say?!"

"You better be self-conscious, don't get too close to us. Unlike you who are big accompanied by wild animals, we are big surrounded by holy men. Well, your smell is amazing" said Christian with a flat face, his hands fanning his nose pretending to be very disturbed by Finn's smell.

"Huh! holy, said? there are saints who humble others. That's a commendable act" Finn sneered with an adoration, "Pfft! a person who likes to praise himself with such pride, isn't he too narcissistic? well, I can't stand people like that."

"An ancient man like yourself knows how to distinguish facts, you'll only understand how to live a nomadic life. Jeremiah, this is how a gorilla would be if given a human form."

Finn glared in shock as well as annoyance, he threw his face towards Jeremiah who knew nothing. "Hey, can the high priest talk like this?! Jeremiah, do an exorcism right now! maybe my innocent best friend is now a container of vicious demons who like to talk presumptuously. Give me back my old best friend!" finn said full of aggravation, even Jeremiah's innocent shoulder to be the target of repeated loud claps from Finn.

"ouch! ouch, sick! stop beating me up like that. You two are arguing, why did I get hit?!" jeremiah said as he protected his shoulder.

Christian snorted, "By the way, the Prince's coronation procession is right?" ask her back to the main topic. "Isn't the King still alive?".

Finn nodded his head, "I don't know when it will happen. Just try you two think, what kind of procession will other nobles do? come to think of it, the King has long been rumored to be dead. If the Prince's position is not immediately formalized it will not be good for the image of our kingdom."

Jeremiah nodded in understanding, "right too. After all the Crown Prince had already replaced the King's duties since a year ago, what was the difference with being the King?"

Christian already understood what Finn meant, he himself had already thought of the same answer before asking. Finn tilted his head to look at Christian's distressed face, "What's wrong? why are you asking about the procession?" finn's question made Gray Morisson's biological son gasp.

"No. I was just wondering, I heard a priest mention a procession."

Jeremiah scratched his non-itchy temple. "But it could be that the procession in question is your coronation to be the next Great Priest," murmured Jeremiah still hesitated in his own opinion.

"Ah if it's about that, I'll reject it. I never imagined myself on the pulpit and leading the crowd to pray. Especially to receive the Word of God directly."

Finn nodded in agreement with Christian's words, "If the Great Priestess is a sharp-mouthed person like him, I think this temple will be a place of heretical flow. Jeremiah, if that time comes, I'll move to another country."

Because Finn ruined the seriousness of the atmosphere, Christian kicked Finn's leg slowly. "I'll probably offer you to the devil."

"Jeremiah, see? he's not sane. Don't support him to be the Great Priest."

Jeremiah chuckled amusedly, "yes, Christian better not be one of them."

Finn took out a small gift box and gave it to Christian, "there's a deposit for you. I intended to give it to you earlier, but I hurriedly went to Verenity."

Jeremiah hands, "by me?" ask her.

"Here, I brought a leaf from a tree growing in Verenity, I don't know when this leaf is in my hair."

"Tck. You suck." Jeremiah pursed his lips.

Christian thumped to receive the box when he had not opened it at all. Finn just smiled, "open it so you're calmer."

The private knight Quinn stood up while carrying his backpack. "I have to go home now. Someone must have been waiting for my return."

Christian, Finn's childhood friend, catches something different from Finn. The young man with the wound in his right eye looked so happy when he mentioned the words 'home' and 'have waited'. The calm young man smiled, "thankfully now you have a place to go even though it seems like 'someone who waits' is just a delusion."

"Hey, don't get sucked. That's right, I don't imagine."

Finn was not imagining, because Quinn was the person in question. Although Quinn is actually waiting for Finn's return for the information he gets, not specifically for the person.

Christian opens a box that has a letter with a distinctive lily scent, "Teacher..."

Finn Han Blackbird no longer wanted to waste more time. While Christian mentions the Word of God, his heart is already uneasy to want to see Quinn immediately. "He wouldn't die for his own stupidity, would he? where possible," he said monologue.

Quinn was looking at the sales data on the first day of her bar soap release. Everything went smoothly, it was even smoother than Quinn had imagined. Only someone with a good image in the eyes of society can influence people that quickly.

"In retrospect, I don't know Julie at all."

Why did he investigate me first? there's something he wants from me.

Quinn moved from her study desk to open the curtain that closed the balcony door. The girl was aghast in shock as someone suddenly appeared near her face. "Lady, I'm back" Finn waved his hand.

"Welcome back, Finn."

Finn lowered his backpack and put it on the sofa table. "I've got a lot of information. In fact, we can speed up the filing process to the Court."

Quinn smiled "really?" her question was waiting for Finn to finish taking out everything in the bag.

"Before that, there was something I wanted to ask you." Finn stopped taking out Julien's envelope.

Quinn looked at Finn with an innocent expression, "hm? what's?"

"Did that Baron not do anything bad to you?"

"Baron?" quinn's eyes widened, "how did you get to know him? did you meet her somewhere?"
