New Tasks

The day passed quickly.

Spending a few days on vacation, Venix finally finished his vacation. Although living in the Dark Continent was not like vacationing, Venix still appreciated it.

Today, Venix walked towards the village warrior camp that was in the center of the village.

On his way, Venix bought light snacks that were sold in the village.

In this village, there is no real currency. All transactions use credit points.

For those Martial Masters who were doing tasks from the village, they would get free food three times a day. As for ordinary people, they had to work for the village, or sell within the village.

Ordinary people generally farm or cultivate the land. The village leader would give them food every day for as long as they worked. Of course, not a few people sell to get more credit points. And the Martial Masters also liked to shop around to entertain themselves.

Venix walked towards the village warrior camp along with Nero who walked beside him in the form of a black cat.

Nero's current body situation was quite miserable. Some parts of his body were battered by sparring with Venix over the past few days.

Although Venix knew Nero was not in top shape, it would not reduce the efficiency of Nero's healing speed. After all, Nero's main body, his body in this world was like a clone, and had no direct impact on Nero's main body unless his body in this world died.

Therefore Venix did not hesitate to use all his abilities to bully Nero.

Nero's main body is more powerful than Venix's.

The two of them had often practiced sparring amongst themselves in the past. The main goal is to know each other's weaknesses and improve cooperation between the two of them.

Mostly, when the two practiced the match, the result was a draw. And Nero took more wins than Venix, and Venix only won a few times in the past.

Walking closer to the Village Fighting Camp, Venix came to the entrance of the Village Fighting Camp. Greet the officers who were around the Village Fighting Camp.

Going deeper, Venix finally arrived at a simple little house.

Entering it, Venix saw the figure of a middle-aged man sitting at a simple work desk.

Bending his body slightly, Venix paid his respects to the person in front of him. Nero on the other hand just stood still with all four of his cat legs next to Venix.

"Venix right? I've been hearing about you for the past year. Reaching the Purple Level at such a young age is enough to prove that you are one of the best. Even in the Dark Continent, the results you achieve are within the ranks of geniuses in this Continent." The middle-aged man sitting in front of the table smiled as he praised Venix.

"Please sit down." Said the middle-aged man.

Venix obediently sat across the middle-aged man's table.

This middle-aged man is named Boro. He was one of the strongest Martial Masters in this village and was also the Captain of the Village Army Camp. It was reported that Boro level was at the peak of Purple Level. But no one knows for sure his true level.

Hearing Boro's earlier praise, Venix smiled humbly: "It's only natural that the resources in this village are so abundant. Even I would be very difficult to obtain these things in the Continent of human power."

"Source is important, but other people who come here with you are not able to keep up with the pace of development you have, right?" Boro said as he shook his head and added: "The original citizens in this village have faced suffering since they were born. So their minds and resolve were much stronger than outsiders. While you are from the territory of human power, live comfortably. After you came to the Dark Continent, not only did it stop your development, but you progressed quickly here. Although resources are important, the fact is that you yourself are very influential to achieve this result."

Venix listened and could only nod. What Boro said is true. But Venix didn't want to show off.

Ever since he was young, he focused on training with Nero. Even he could barely catch up to the level of his friends. Therefore ever since he was young, Venix had a humble personality. Even when he was selected as the top 100 outstanding disciples in the previous Azure Bull school, many of his friends and others did not expect Venix to achieve such a feat.

The silence passed briefly as Venix did not reply, Boro instantly changed the subject: "By the way, since you have reached the Purple level, are you aiming to sign up to the explorer team?"

For Boro, for a person like Venix who came from the outside world and was trapped in the Dark Continent, it was already natural for him to want to go out to find his way home.

In fact, this village is the remnant of the village that was destroyed 20 years earlier.

Because the village in the past was destroyed, many people fled far to other areas.

After gathering many survivors, they finally formed a new village again, the village that Venix currently lives in.

"Of course I have such a purpose. But traces of potential enemies attacking the village were found a few months ago. So I decided to overcome the enemy attack first. If I survive, I'll sign up for the rover team by the time it's all done." Venix said humbly.

Hearing Venix's words, Boro showed a look of appreciation with her eyes on Venix.

In the Dark Continent, it was extremely difficult to find humans who really wanted to help each other and unite. The environment here is very harsh. It is not impossible if there are selfish people who just want to take advantage of this village without wanting to unite and help this village.

If not for the difficult living conditions in this village, Boro would not have wanted to bring all the outsiders into the village. However it was impossible, this village lacked both fighters and humans. So Boro accepted all the outsiders in. Of course Boro and the other village officials were watching everything in silence.

The resources in this village are very rich for outsiders. It was fine if they exchanged those resources for credit points, but stealing resources was a hard offense.

It's a pity that Venix doesn't know. In fact, there are some people who steal the spoils of war from fellow villagers outside the village. There were even some people who had the same origin as Venix who did just that.

After knowing that, Boro and the village officials of course immediately sentenced the man to death. The higher-ups of the village give all the resources as long as it is in a legitimate and fair manner. If it harmed the other party, to the point of injuring a fellow villager, that fellow would only make things even more chaotic if it continued to live inside the village. Therefore, the death law has been ascertained if it happens.

Venix had no idea that some of his friends were trapped by the Goblin Beast Race in this Dark Continent, some of them were killed by the village's security enforcers.

Even if Venix knew, it wouldn't change anything.

For Venix, that makes a lot of sense. Stealing and attacking fellow human beings is extremely unlawful in the realm of human power. Especially in the Dark Continent, everything was a normal thing.

Moreover, Boro and the other village higher-ups were already very good at allowing outsiders like them to join the village.

Thinking about everything in an instant, Boro smiled and said: "It's good if you want to help this village again before you go explore the Dark Continent. Since you have reached the Purple level, what if I move your task elsewhere? This task is quite dangerous. If you fail, you may die for this task."

Venix frowned and thought in silence.

"Take that job." Nero said in Venix's mind all of a sudden.

"Are you sure?" Venix asked Nero in his mind.

"Just take this task like an exercise for us." Nero said casually: "Exploring the Dark Continent, Purple Level is just the bottom standard to have the chance to explore the Dark Continent."

Venix was silent, and continued to listen to Nero.

"Do you think the dangers we will face out there will not exceed this task? If we take on this task, if we succeed, it will increase our chances of survival slightly in the future. But if we fail and die, that means the same thing will happen while we explore the Dark Continent." Nero explained everything and added: "Don't you ever think it's better to die fighting for something?"

Venix fell silent and thought of everything.

In a short time, Venix's eyes were firm. He lifted his head and cupped his fists towards Boro while saying: "I will accept this task."

"Good." Nero said with a small smile.

It is as Nero analyzed it. Boro gave this task to Venix to train him before going to explore the Dark Continent. If Venix managed to pass this task, his chance of survival would greatly increase while exploring the Dark Continent.

Of course if Venix fails, it is the same as what Nero told Venix before.
