"The new task you have in the future is to scout the front lines. A few months ago, I came across a group of other races that attacked the nests of several small races on the south side. I was stalking the group. After a few days of observation, I discovered that the leader of the group was very strong. There were at least 5 very strong people in that group." Boro explained the situation to Venix.
Venix silently nodded and continued to listen.
"The group had about 400 soldiers. I don't know a definite number. If I stalk them any further, there's a good chance I'll be found and it'll be very hard for me to run after that." Boro said and continued: "Because the strength of the enemy is uncertain, we sent some men to scout the south side. In the past few months, two Purple Level Martial Masters were killed in this mission due to being discovered by the enemy. And we also received information that it looks like this group has other powers that we don't yet know about. So when you do this job, make sure your own safety."
Venix nodded obediently.
Afterwards, Boro took out a roll of leather paper from his desk drawer, and spread it across the table: "Here is the territory you will guard in the future. Of course you have to investigate a little further if necessary to find traces of the enemy, but safety is paramount. If you do not find any trace of the enemy within a month around the area you are guarding, you should report it to me. If that happens, we will form a new team to explore further areas to see if the enemy walks away from our village or not."
Boro paused for a moment and continued: "To do this task, you must have concealment or lurking skills. If you don't have that ability, learn one. This ability is very useful to you while exploring the Dark Continent in the future."
"I understand." Venix said while nodding.
"That's it. You bring this map, and you learn everything. This is the latest map our village has." Boro handed over the map scroll to Venix.
Taking the map scroll, Venix bowed his body to Boro and thanked her: "Thank you."
"All right, you can go. If you're ready, tomorrow will be the day of your duty." Boro.
Venix nodded. Saying a few polite words, Venix said goodbye to Boro and immediately returned home.
Inside his house, Venix forms a plan in his mind.
"Do you want to learn hiding and reconnaissance skills?" Tanya Nero who was beside Venix.
"Indeed, I also have plans to purchase some concealment and reconnaissance techniques in the credit points exchange hall. But not only that, I also need to prepare many other things." Venix.
"For concealment and reconnaissance techniques it is quite easy. I have that ability and you can learn the basics of that technique from me. Although the techniques of the Beast and Man are different, they are essentially the same." Said Nero.
"You're right. Thank you." Thank you." Venix.
Nero was quite adept at reconnaissance and concealment. At first, Venix had no idea that Nero was an expert in this field. But after they arrived at the Dark Continent, Nero showed his skills.
After that, Venix made plans with Nero on that day.
The next day, Venix walked out with his combat gear.
A leather armor worn by Venix. On both of his waist, a long iron box hung on both of his waist which contained eight Venix sword needles.
On Venix's right shoulder, Nero was casually lying on Venix's shoulder.
Walking towards the village gate, Venix greeted some of the soldiers and the village gate guards.
Telling the gatekeeper that he will be doing his duty, the gatekeeper reminded Venix to be careful upon learning that Venix would be stalking the front lines.
Out of the village, Venix holds a map, and determines the territory he must guard.
Stripping his feet on the ground, Venix immediately flew through the air, and jumped from one tree to another, heading towards the territory he had to guard.
After running for half an hour, Venix arrived at the territory he had to guard.
During his journey here, everything was safe. He found no enemies.
In fact, the area around the village was full of other races roaming around. But as long as it was only an individual and not a group exceeding the 20 mark, the village warriors would ignore it.
After all slaughtering another race carelessly would only bring revenge from the other races around him. If the village warriors diligently slaughtered the other races in the vicinity, the remaining living beings of the slain race would unite with the other races to attack the village. After all, if village warriors were to frequently slaughter other races around the village, sooner or later, they would also be targeted. So why not fight?
It can be said that there are unwritten rules in the Dark Continent for small races. So in general other races did not dare to form groups of more than 20 people, including the human race.
"OKAY. Let's make it now." Said Nero.
Soon after that Venix and Nero set up a trap formation in this area.
Although Venix's job is only to scout, reducing the enemy's strength is also a good thing. Venix understands this, and Boro doesn't say it before for fear of Venix making a mistake and putting his life at risk.
But Venix is aware of this. So in addition to stalking the enemy, he also set a trap.
If he encountered enemies, Venix could trap enemies into this formation and kill them before running off and returning to the village.
Setting up the formation for half an hour, Venix and Nero finally completed the trap formation.
"It's all done. For the next time, I'll count on you." Venix told Nero.
"Give it to me." Nero said with a small smile.
Immediately after that Nero jumped into the air, and flew away leaving Venix who was still standing at the center of the formation.
"Now I just need to hide and wait for news from Nero." Venix Mumbles.
After that, Venix chose a large tree, and hollowed out the inside of the tree so that his body could fit inside the tree.
Getting into the tree hole, Venix used his strength to form a simple illusion on the hollow part of the tree.
If others saw the tree Venix was in, they would only see the shape of a normal tree without the hole that Venix had made before.
Of course this only applies if the other person is weaker than Venix in the illusion technique.
Closing his eyes inside the tree, Venix immediately cultivated.
Half of his consciousness was diverted into Nero's body, so Venix could also watch over the area Nero's body saw and communicate with him.
Since his synchronization level with Nero had reached 75%, his telepathic range and direct information sharing between the two had a range of 5 kilometers.
As long as Nero was within 5 kilometers of Venix, Nero and Venix could communicate via telepathy and share viewpoints.
In Nero's view, Venix saw Nero who had currently turned into a Black Tiger running on the ground. But even though Nero ran, it did not make much noise as Nero ran on the ground.
And as Nero ran forward, every now and then Nero would throw something out of his mouth, and throw it back.
It was one of Nero's abilities to detect enemies. With that ability, Nero will form an invisible thread that binds between tree one and tree two.
If any living thing were to pass by and touch that invisible thread, Nero would detect it and determine how many living things passed through it.
This was why Venix's patrol duties were largely dependent on Nero.
Nero was not bored of doing this either. Because for Nero, this also trained his skill skills further.
"If you meet an enemy on the road, don't fight. Immediately reduce your soul power to a minimum so that you don't suffer much loss if you die." Venix gave a suggestion in Nero's mind.
"Am I just going to raise my hands to the enemy and let them kill me? Do you think I'm that low?" Nero complained unhappily.
"Don't forget, your current condition only has half your original strength. You can only be beaten by me. Do you want to fight them and die while adding injury to your soul?" Venix reveals a terrible fact to Nero.
Hearing that, Nero fell silent.
Just tell me my soul is hurt, okay? There's no need to bring up about me being beaten by you! Nero complained in his mind.
