"Am I disgusting? I just asked you this because not many people know me here. If you know them, don't bother."
Edgar looked at Nicole for a bit and then refocused on driving.
"I have no right to judge others and I am not a saint. Every human being must be wrong as well as me. Maybe my past is darker than yours." Edgar and Nicole answered smilingly.
"It's good to hear that people can change, right? And I don't want to disappoint those who gave me a second chance." Nicole and Edgar smiled faintly hearing that.
"But it turns out you talk a lot, you used to be very quiet." Edgar chirps unconsciously he slipped.
"You know me first?" Nicole asked in disbelief.
"No, just saw you a few times on set. I was a film crew and stunt double in an action drama." Edgar and Nicole replied.
"I used to be busy practicing and learning to be on par with other artists until I forgot to enjoy life and make friends. Until I fell there were no friends by my side there was only family. Now I'm conscious and want to enjoy my life and make sincere friends." Obviously Nicole was at length and Edgar understood, she was the same.
"So why did you move here?" Nicole asked a little.
"Maybe the same as you, change and enjoy life." Edgar and Nicole replied.
"It's over." Said Edgar and Nicole immediately down, Edgar also helped Nicole bring her things.
"Thank you for the ride, next time I'll buy you coffee." Nicole and Edgar smiled and nodded.
.
.
Nicole and Edgar's first meeting was good enough that it had been a month since they were getting close. Nicole was comfortable with Edgar and vice versa.
But Nicole doesn't know the real reason Edgar is here. He only knew that the 34-year-old man was heartbroken and wanted to forget his love.
"You've been to the garden and the lake a lot, met Edgar?" Merry asked as they met in the back yard.
"Yes, we're friends now." Replied Nicole who was still busy harvesting her crops.
"Maybe you guys are a fool." Chirps Merry.
"Don't joke Auntie, we're just friends." Nicole said with a small laugh.
"But I'm sure." Merry continued to know and then returned to his home. Nicole just shook her head and continued working until the sound of the car horn sounded.
"That's Edgar." Nicole ran out and right Edgar was waiting for her in front of the house.
"What's up Ed?" Nicole asked because they didn't have any appointments today.
"Can you please?" Edgar and Nicole asked.
"Meet me tomorrow to my ex-boyfriend's wedding." Said Edgar and Nicole rounding her eyes.
"No Ed, I'm scared." Nicole said, but Edgar did not give up until Nicole agreed.
"But don't blame me if you bear the shame of taking me." Nicole said.
"No, trust me." Edgar replied sure.
"When do we go and where is the show?" Nicole and Edgar asked the invitation in the mailbox.
"He know your address?" Nicole asked as she took the invitation.
"It wasn't my best friend who sent, my ex tucked it away." Answer Edgar.
"Crazy, should we go back there?" Nicole asked in disbelief and Edgar nodded.
"I'm back there? Can I?" Nicole murmured and she would believe Edgar this time.
The airport was a 4-hour drive away so Nicole decided to get a ride from now on.
\~\~\~\~
Traveling for hours from departing in the afternoon they finally arrived and returned to their birthplace in the early hours.
"Just rest, I'll wake up when I get home." Edgar and Nicole said she closed her eyes and leaned against the car seat Edgar had brought from the airport to his home.
Not long after, Nicole opened her eyes again because she knew that the car had stopped.
"This is where Ed is?" Ask Nicole whose view remains unclear.
"This is my house come on." Answer edgar.
"You're rich it turns out." Nicole said she was amazed by Edgar's enormous and luxurious home.
"I can't believe you used to work as a film crew." Nicole continued when she entered the house.
"Yes, after I repented, I went about my usual work." or Edgar made Nicole even more curious.
"Can you tell me? I'm not a stupid woman who was invited to an ex's wedding just as a show, am I?"
Edgar laughed, "Alright but don't be afraid if you know who I really am." Nicole nodded.
They sat together at the kitchen table hungry and Edgar would cook whatever was there. Although no one lived in the house, there were still maids who cleaned and stayed in the back pavilion so there were still groceries.
"I used to be a street kid and steal to eat, then helped by a young man and since childhood have been taught martial arts. He was also a street kid like me the difference was he was almost an adult at that time. I'm 12 years old and follow him everywhere, we steal, we snatch sometimes rob until I'm an adult our crime is increasing. Until he finally died from being shot by the police when he robbed a bank."
Nicole is still listening, she is not afraid because this story is still ordinary, he said. While eating he listened to Edgar who was done in his last feed.
"Then all my friends were caught and went to prison, I got away with it because of my greatest martial skills among them. I went back to the streets because our base was surrounded."
"For a few years I was hiding, it turns out the police didn't come after me for some reason. Then I worked for a mobster for a couple of years and that's where I became a killing machine for a living. As long as I can kill anyone targeted then I will earn a lot of money. It was only a few years that I was there until I got out, that mob boss was killed while I was on duty and that's how I got out of the mafia boss."
Nicole started to be surprised, she was pecking. Edgar, who knew Nicole was scared, laughed a little.
"You scared?" Edgar and Nicole asked.
"I've been converted." Edgar said, then Nicole nodded again.
"Listen until it's over." Nicole nodded again.
"I got out of the mafia but some people who once knew me were looking for me again and offered me a job, killing me again. I was a hit man until I met Letty, the son of a businessman who was my target. I disguised myself as his bodyguard because it was very difficult to get close to his father who was a famous businessman in Italy. Long story short I didn't carry out the murder out of love. But his father still dies at the hands of another hitman. Since then I stopped and wanted to focus on our relationship."
Nicole looked even more surprised, she was so scared but also sorry for Edgar.
"Last year, Letty, she knew it all. He's broken because his father died and then their company went bankrupt and knew that I was a hit man and was a street kid. He couldn't accept my past and just leave me. He threw me out like disgusting trash and chided me like I was the ugliest of creatures."
"What makes me angry and hurt the most is not that, because I realize the insults he made were true. I'm such a disgusting piece of trash."
"Don't Ed, humans can change and deserve a chance. Maybe it's your chance and you've lived well." Nicole said and now she was not afraid, the look of Edgar's eyes changed that there was only sadness and sadness. Nicole sat down next to Edgar and stroked the man's burly pudak to make him calmer.
"Thank you." Edgar.
"Then you went to the village and lived there to forget it?" Ask Nicole who still wants to know.
"I've forgotten my love for him but can't forget it. He could have dropped his womb. Our son, because he's disgusted at me he could do that." Edgar's eyes turned red and his hands clenched tightly.
Nicole immediately hugged him to give him a sigh, she did not expect that Edgar had such a poignant story.
