Chapter 23: The Death of Duchess Broglie (2)


"Geez, ma'am, you don't have to go that way. Huh... All right, just for a minute and it's only allowed on the veranda of your room. You can't stay out too long, ma'am, because it's spring to fall, so it's not good for your health to be out there for too long." Said Anne while helping Duchess Broglie stand back up.

"Please give her attention for a moment. Today I want to tell you the good news."


"Good News? What is it, Dad?" Eugeo asked curiously.


"Now I will hold an engagement ceremony between...." Said Duke Broglie who was cut off by a female servant who broke into the dining room.

"Mother, don't go, I'll feel lonely without you, as well as this residence. We all need you, Mother." Eugeo said in tears as he held the hand of Duchess Broglie who began to cool slowly.

Please wake up, open your eyes, Helena." Duchess Broglie's words that could not hold back her tears saw the deteriorating state of Duchess Broglie.
