Opening Eyes Without You

Cold, dark and very quiet. Pain and stiffness throughout the body, making women who have been in the coma for more than a week reluctant to open their eyes. However, there was a strong urge within him that required him to open his eyes and confirm one thing.

The weak movements in the eyelids made someone who had been waiting for him suddenly smile with relief.

"Kyra."

No, it's not this voice that Kyra wants to hear. There was a heavy, haughty voice that Kyra longed for, one that led her back to the world and scared her to death when she said she was leaving.

A middle-aged man was caught by Kyra's retina when both of her eyes had fully opened. His first love in the world.

"Oh my God, thank you! You're finally back, son!" Roni hugged her daughter with tears. "Dad misses you so much, Ky!"

A man dressed in white and two sisters on his left right side convinced Kyra that the man was the Doctor who handled it. The doctor smiled kindly and removed the stethoscope that had been stuck in both ears.

"Welcome back, Kyra! Just this time I believe that miracles are real."  The young doctor watched his female patient with an amazing look of amazement.

Kyra's entire body still feels stiff, she can't respond to anything other than through eye movements. When he did not find the figure he was looking for in the room filled with various kinds of tools, the light in my eyes slowly turned soft. He closed his eyes again and hoped Bara would come to see him soon.

But, wait... With all her remaining strength, Kyra touched her stomach with great difficulty. The pain that he had only felt in the body, now radiates into the heart when the stomach that had been distended was now flat. Nah! Don't tell me Kyra lost her baby!!

"We tried our best to preserve your womb, but the bleeding put both of your lives in danger. We apologize" explained the doctor with his head bowed.

"Patiently, Ky. Your baby is calm with God."

Kyra shook her head weakly, the hose on her nose made every head movement she made painful. But now there is nothing more painful than hearing this sad news. The dripping tears soaked the two corners of Kyra's eyes, she had lost her baby. The baby is desperately guarded by Bara, the baby she slowly loves wholeheartedly.

If I could scream, maybe Kyra would do it right now. In fact, only tears were a response to the pain in his heart. Very painful, even more painful than just leaving Bara.

"Suster, please monitor the situation for the next 24 hours."

"Okay, Doctor!"

Kyra watched the three men dressed in all white walk out of her room. Only Roni and her are left. They both cried with different tastes. When Kyra cries in mourning, Roni cries out for the joy of seeing her daughter back.

"Rest, Ky. Your condition is still unstable" Roni asked as she wiped the tears at her daughter's temple.

Either because it was completely unstable or due to being too shocked, Kyra finally went back to sleep a few minutes later. Seeing the state of his daughter who seemed very hit with the death of her baby, Roni could only wipe her forehead sadly.

Flashback.

Bara had not really left when the sisters ran into his wife's room. She was still walking through the corridor when one of the sisters shouted and clearly Bara heard her from the unclosed door.

"Patient positive response!"

And Bara's steps came to a halt instantly, a shudder of hope instantly sticking out in his heart. Quickly, Bara turned around and ran back towards Kyra's room. From behind the glass, she could see several sisters inspecting every cable attached to Kyra's body. Kyra's weakly moving index finger made Bara gape in disbelief. Tears wet his cheeks, tears happy and happy!

"Thank you, Ky. Thank you, God!"

Many times Bara said those words of gratitude while rubbing her face with relief. When a Doctor checks the monitor and smiles at Bara who is outside the room, Bara is convinced that her Kyra has returned.

"Wake, Ky. I promise to leave as long as you open your eyes and live happily as before. Please, wake up."

'Did you wake up because you heard my promise? Do you really want me to go?'

A pinch of pain back pierced in Bara's chest. After being satisfied to see the Sisters and the Doctor deal with his Kyra, Bara rubbed the glass wall with poke. At least even though they can no longer be together, Kyra still lives and breathes in the same realm.

Still with the rest of his tears, Bara turned around and strengthened his heart to leave the room. He has to keep his promise, right? Bara does not want God to return to wrath and take Kyra from her world.

Not yet at the end of the corridor, Bara's footsteps came to a halt when Roni suddenly stood in front of him. With a kiss, Bara quickly wiped her tears and bowed in honor of her in-laws. He continued his steps and acted as if nothing had happened.

"Aren't you going to see Kyra? Isn't he awake?" search Roni when Bara looks very rushed.

Bara stopped, he turned his head and watched Roni who was also looking at him sharply.

"Dad, I gave my love back to Dad. Please forgive me, I feel unworthy to take care of Kyra."

"Why do you think so?"

A drop of Bara's tears dripped again but she swiftly wiped it. "Please don't ask why, Dad. I was more afraid to see Kyra go than I had to leave her. Forgive me!"
