Laciel is moving fast. He headed in the direction where the guards were walking. He followed the path until he finally saw a city whose outskirts were protected by fortifications.
At the end of the road there is a gate. On both sides of the gate were a pair of twin towers that were quite tall, perhaps to look into the forest. The tower was connected to a fortress that stood firm as far as the eyes
looked.
In front of the gate, there was a group of people waiting in line to enter. The guards also checked the identities of everyone.
“I can't get in through the usual lane. Must use this method.”
Laciel then muttered a flying spell and an invisible spell. It infiltrated into the city through the top of the fort, then down in a narrow alley. He was still wearing his robe when coming out of the alley and blending in with the citizens and pedestrians.
Si! I have no items and no money. Laciel cursed in heart. Actually, my goal now is to find information. I better take a walk first.
“Woah, we're flooded with tasks. The explosion that occurred a while ago made many monsters frightened and came out of the forest.” Someone's wrong words to his friend.
“Yeah, this is a blessing. Thanks to that, even the low-ranking of us are also called to help. At least, we can drink good now.” Timpal.
Hearing the two people's conversation made Laciel want to follow them. They both walked towards the city center. The road is getting wider, so that it can be passed by many horse carriages at once. The building is also high, although only level 4 to 5. Then, the two men walked into a rather large building. On the board were inscribed the Adventurers Union Building with a crossed sword and spear logo, a shield in the middle, and an arrow in the middle of the shield.
The building was four-storied and made of red brick. Entering the building, Laciel was greeted with probing gazes from the people. Ignoring them, he stepped towards the reception desk facing the entrance.
Behind the table, there was a woman wearing a black dress. His face smiled brightly, making others feel at ease.
“There can I help you with, Mister?” ask the female staff kindly.
“I want to register myself as an Adventurer.” Answer Laciel.
“Good. In that case, please fill out this form.”
The employee handed him a piece of pencil and a piece of paper. At first, Laciel did not care. But, as soon as he looked at the paper, he only realized one basic thing that allowed him to deduce this
really another world.
Language .. different. At least, writing. Inner surprised.
He can talk to other people, he can read it too. But, he was not used to writing because his actions were very different.
Is this the language-translating ability as found in fantasy isekai novels? Ask in the heart.
For a long time he was silent until the officer spoke.
“Sorry, can you not write?” tanyakanya.
“Ah ... ah. Sorry, I haven't been able to write.”
“It's okay. Let me write it for you.”
Waiting for a while, the employee made a card containing Laciel's identity and gave it to him. Laciel accepted and then looked.
[Name : Laciel
Stage : E
Special Note: None]
“Master can take requests or missions that are one level above the rank of Mr.” The officer explained.
Switching to Demand– Wall the place where the request is pasted by the employee and will be taken by Adventurer–, Laciel look around at any request that is there. Kill the Gray Wolf, eradicate the Goblin nest, complete the Dungeon, and many more similar requests and missions are listed there.
Without taking any request paper, Lucio went outside.
I haven't been able to take that request because my rank is still low, even though I can finish it. Then, it is better to finish first and report. Thought in the heart.
A moment after exiting the building, there was another person who also came out and approached him.
Laciel stopped and turned his body. Wh who? Her thought.
She was a girl who was about seventeen years old. Wearing a magic robe and carrying a magic wand. Even a child will know that he is a witch. His long black hair was unraveling in the wind. There were no curves in his body because he was wearing a robe.
“Who are you?” laciel asked without previously answering the question posed to her.
“My name is Hana, Adventurer Rank C. A magician capable of seeing and measuring one's magic power. Seeing your great magic power, who exactly are you?” ask her with a flat tone.
Hearing his words, Laciel froze on the spot.
“Ah, actually, it doesn't really matter. What am I really asking, going hunting with me? I need a hunting buddy.” He said still with his tone flat.
Hunting together? It doesn't seem too bad. Besides, I'm not familiar with this place either. Inner Laciel. But, is he okay hunting with strangers?
Laciel then agreed and followed him walking in the opposite direction from the direction Laciel came. Walking for a few minutes, they had already reached the South Gate. Although it is referred to as the South Gate, it is actually a bit south-west.
“What is the name of this city?” laciel asked opening the conversation.
“Eh, you're here but don't know? Where are you from?” Hannah asked back.
“Actually, I'm lost.” Laciel answered honestly. But judging from Hana's point of view, it just doesn't make sense.
“Are you a child who will get lost if not accompanied by your mother?” ask her sarcasm with a cynical smile.
“Can you just answer my question.” Said Laciel whose heart was hurt as a child.
“This is Blackwood County. To the north to the east was the Blackwood Forest, and there was often the enslavement of monster numbers. Thus, many Adventurers who hunt and build bases here. Count Blackwood was a subordinate of Duke Zerestia, and was located to the east of Duchy Zerestia. Duke Zerestia himself is a subordinate of King Zamara, and is located to the north of the Kingdom of Zamara.” Hana explained at length. “Do you also have no idea where Zamara Kingdom is located?”
“Um, no.” Laciel replied with a plain face knowing nothing.
“Hadeuh. I'm confused where you come from.” Hana sighed, then continued. “The Kingdom of Zamara is a kingdom located in the northeast of the Zaenia Continent. Adjacent to the Zaenia Empire in the west and the Beastman Empire of Marhamzan in the south.”
“Ah, so.” Laciel answered short after a silent contemplation.
They had already reached the South Gate after conversing. Then, Hannah remembered something.
“Come,” call him.
Laciel followed Hana. He then saw a map plastered near the queue out of Blackwood County. The map was not very detailed, just writing the name of each country. But, it was enough for Laciel to be able to instantly understand.
...[.Map of Zaenia Continent]...
There are four Demon Kingdoms in the west? Imperial superpower? It seems like this is another world. Not wrong anymore. This map is not the same as the map in the game Zaenia 5. Laciel thought to himself and tried to remember the map carefully. Wait, the name of this Empire is the same as the name of the game. This must not be a coincidence.
“Can you explain about this Zaenia Empire?” Laciel asked.
“It was the largest empire in the continent. Either, whether this continent took the name of an empire, or an empire that took the name of a continent. But, some say that the name of the continent that took the name of the empire.” Obviously Hana.
“Hmm? Why so?” Laciel. A superpower empire that was even able to name an entire continent by its name? That's really cool.
“That's because, the Zaenia Empire once ruled the entire continent.” Answer Hana. “Two times.”
“A– What?!” Laciel was surprised to hear that.
“It all starts from ...”
