Sent To Isekai As Demon King's
Eps 7: Witch Guild

Morning time. The atmosphere inside the Adventurers Union Building is very lively–or arguably, quite noisy. The adventurers were gathering together with their respective groups or parties. Most chat while spending their breakfast is still warm, visible from the hot steam that is still steaming from their rice, soups, and side dishes.

Laciel was seen going down the stairs as Hana called out to him.

“Ah, Laciel. Come here,” he waved a sign asking him to come over.

Hana had currently secured two dining chairs for the two of them. Although the first Laciel woke up from sleep, he came late for spending his morning on the roof. Pay attention to the daily life of the population and breathe in the still clean air.

Laciel really likes mornings. That's because his name has the meaning of light. Light is usually associated with the morning. Well, after all he got the name because he was found in front of the orphanage in the morning.

Approaching the place that had been secured, Laciel sat down at that spot. Then Hana stuck out her hand. There's something there. An adventurer card in Laciel's name. It says something different than yesterday. Yes, he had risen one rank after the hunt yesterday.

Laciel looked at his card. Only the letter E has changed to D.

[Name : Laciel

Stage : D

Special Note: None]

“You hunted again on the spot yesterday?” ask Hana in a flat tone.

“No. I need more money.” Laciel replied before putting in a spoonful of rice along with the broth meat from the soup in front of him.

“Then, how about Dungeon's Dragon. I heard, until now no one has been able to reach the deepest part. Which means, there is still a great possibility that there are many valuable treasures inside. What say?”

“Hmm.” It is full of food in the mouth. Laciel swallowed his food and then started to speak again. “If so, then we will try. I haven't tried any serious versions of my real power either.”

“Ho oh's. I can't wait to see your magic power. I can't wait to see your strength in bed, too, if you want.” Hana said with a meaningful smile.

“Puft!” Laciel squashed a lot of food out of his mouth. He was very surprised by what he heard from the innocent-looking but mischievous woman. “I'm done.” He said he finished his little remaining meal.

“Already? Why not spend? Said the devil likes to eat leftovers, loh.” Hana stood up to see Laciel standing up as well.

“Yeah, what's wrong with feeding fellow.”

“Ah, I forgot that you are the devil.” He muttered with an annoyed face.

From the Adventurers Guild Union, Laciel turned left. To the place where he left “kudanya” yesterday. There was a bit of chaos when he brought the Blade Tiger home. Starting from the security issue at the South Gate before entering the city, the reaction of the people and the excessive soldiers inside the city, the, then the reaction of the adventurers and the Adventurers' Union employees when he was about to leave it in the stables.

Just by hunting a few strands of Gray Wolf feathers and one ear of Orc was not enough to raise the adventurer rank from E rank to D rank. And the “kuda” problem that he brought was able to convince and smooth his ranking increase which only occurred in less than a day. Well, even though there is a lot of money needed to take care of these issues, such as ownership issues and everything else to smooth them out. But, it's worth it, yeah.

“Hey hey hey, did you sleep well last night?” Laciel greets “kudanya” who can not stand by waiting for his master to come pick him up.

“Well, he slept well. But not with the other horses.” Said one of the Adventurers Union employees who was working and getting shifts guarding the stables.

Hearing him, Laciel swept his gaze across the stables. He could see the horses moving uncomfortably. Some even fainted on the spot.

“Well, how else. He he.” Laciel just laughed.

Laughing over the suffering of others. It is really like a devil. Inner officer that. If Laciel had heard it, he would have laughed immediately and said he was a demon, even if the clerk would not have believed it. But also, he would not be able to do that, especially the latter.

Laciel walked beside Blade Tiger who was walking slowly and looked elegant. It was very much like an emperor walking around with his extraordinary pet.

Actually, he wanted to ride it. But if so, then he would let Hana walk alone. It would be very damaging to his pride as a man. And if the two of them were to ride together, it would probably burden his pet. Even if not, he still won't do that. And if Hana is the only one who rides it, then what is the point of having a pet but not ridden by herself and even others?

For various reasons Laciel chose to walk.

“Come, go.” Hana led the way after seeing Laciel coming.

They did not go to the South Gate or the North Gate. But they're walking west. Entering a wide road in front of the Adventurers Union Building. When viewed in its entirety, the Adventurers Union Building is at a busy intersection. To the west was the Merchant Association, and to the east was the Alchemy Union, and across from the Adventurers Union Building, there was a mansion surrounded by a small fortress. It was the residence of the mayor, Count Blackwood.

“Is there no Witch Guild?” laciel asked opening the conversation while walking.

“There was, when the Zamara Kingdom was still a vassal kingdom of the Zaenia Empire, under the rule of Emperor Evander and his successors.” Answer Hana.

“Oh. Then, now?”

“There are several reasons. The most well-known and widespread reason was because the witches preferred to make money from hunting monsters. It was easier and surer than doing research and just getting an award. Because of this, the witches mostly registered as Adventurers and put the Witch Guild out of business. Well, it happened about 200 years ago after the Zamara Kingdom broke away from the Zaenia Empire and became a sovereign kingdom.” Obviously Hana.

“Yeah, if you want to get into the Witch Guild, in the Zaenia Empire there are still many in cities of the Count level and above. That was because the Zaenia Empire greatly encouraged the advancement of magic, especially the Alixiar Kingdom and the Johnson Kingdom which were both in the north and were subordinates of the Zaenia Empire.” Further.

“But you better be careful. Since they are very skilled in the field of magic, you better not be seen by them. Perhaps someone knows that you are a demon and then they will hunt you.”

Glucose. Laciel swallowed his saliva. He could not think what would happen if he was chased by a superpower. It was the same being a wanted fugitive by the United States government. There's nothing good about that.
