The Heiress'S Love

The Heiress'S Love
Chapters 10. Sorrow

The castle was gripping as Romanov set foot there in the middle of the night. Flickering police car lights were already seen adorning the courtyard as soon as he entered the gate. He had received a brief message earlier that the castle was attacked but his position which was still very far from the place made Romanov could do nothing but contact the men who were nearby to give help.

The police had already moved some bodies into the bags, most of which were in the courtyard were the castle guards. With a shaky move, Romanov approached Jason, who arrived early, was giving a statement to the police chief. Behind him, Daniel walks with Quentin as shocked as he is.

Jason, aware of Romanov's whereabouts, asks the police chief for a minute to meet the castle's owner. Jason had already come as fast as he could when he received the message the castle was attacked, but Braga's attack was short enough that he had to gulp realizing how late he had come.

“Romanov, forgive me.” Jason said with regret.

“You've tried your best J.” Romanov patted his friend on the shoulder, “how are Bella and Tasya doing?” his tanyanya almost stuck.

“Bella still inside.” Jason answered without explaining anything.

Romanov decided to enter followed by Jason, Daniel and Quentin. The view inside was not much different from the outside. Blood splashes adorn every corner of the room. Romanov could still see the police moving the bodies there. Not even the castle's servants escaped the slaughter of that ruthless man.

“Bella in family room.” Jason said to show me the hallway on the right.

He could only nod slowly. Inwardly, Romanov still wished Bella well. As he walked into the living room, he saw a policeman stuffing Nathan, his adopted son, into a body bag. Daniel who saw it immediately ran to the police to see Nathan.

Somehow Romanov felt his hopes evaporate as soon as he saw Nathan's blood-soaked corpse lying stiff in the doorway. Inside the room were several other policemen who immediately turned their heads and looked respectfully at the arrival of Romanov.

Slowly Romanov approached a corpse that had been covered in cloth. In his heart he kept making hopes that the corpse was not the corpse of his wife. As if understanding the situation, the police gave room to Romanov. With trembling hands Romanov opened the covering cloth. Instantly he fell limp. The bells went in a horrible way.

“I'm sorry Bella, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you.” Isak Romanov clutched Bella's body in a hug, “I shouldn't have left you.”

Romanov's tears fell to the ground, seeing that his heart was dead. Daniel, who had just approached his mother, wept beside Romanov. She kept calling her mother while shaking Bella's body.

“Bella!!”

Romanov's thunderous roar broke the silence that night. All who heard could only be bowed down felt a deep pain. Anyone in Moscow knows that Vladimir's future successor loves his wife and children. This horrible massacre must have torn his heart apart.

After things calm down and Romanov starts to get in control, letting the police take Bella for an autopsy, Jason approaches to strengthen his friend and wants to ask his niece who has not been found until now.

“Tasya...” Romanov muttered as if awakened from sleep, “where is Tasya, where is my son?” he looked at the people around him.

“We have not found Natasha and James until now Romanov.” Answer Jason.

“No! I will kill that bastard if I take Tasya away!!!” wrath Romanov.

“Let's rest, I've had my men search for Natasha and James around the castle.” Entertain Jason.

Romanov seemed to be squeezing his hair and walking back and forth trying to think clearly.

“Dad, James and Tasya often hide in the back garden. Maybe they're there.” Sela Daniel's.

Arriving at a bridge that was about to collapse, Daniel showed the path to go down under the bridge. Aided by Jason holding a flashlight for light, Romanov went down to check.

A sense of relief and happiness immediately approached Romanov as soon as he saw his two children curled up there. James raised his hand to block the blinding light. In her arms, Natasha was still asleep.

“James.. Tasya Call Romanov extend his hand.

After making sure that came was their father, James started to shuffle forward, “daddy.” Follow him with a hoarse voice.

“Come on dear, all is safe.” Romanov said in a choked voice, helping James lift Tasya up.

Jason, who was holding the light, extended his hand to help James out. The two boys were almost hypothermic there due to the cold weather with water almost touching their bodies. After all managed to board, the police pulled up blankets to warm the children up.

Romanov's tears came back to see Natasha doing well. He hugged his little princess tightly into the castle. She is very grateful to have James, thanks to the boy Natasha managed to survive.

Two days after the horrible incident. All of the dead began to be buried in public cemeteries simultaneously. Many of the victims were guards and servants of the castle. While the guests who happened to be still there at the time of the incident, were buried separately by their respective families.

Cloudy weather has been covering Moscow since morning. The snow is falling slowly even though it is already in early spring. Mourners filled the funeral to pay their last respects. Romanov could only stare blankly at his wife's coffin as it was slowly lowered into the burrow. Daniel was the only one who attended Bella's funeral. His little daughter is still in intensive care in an undisclosed location, while James is still undergoing medical treatment to recover after being exposed to mild hypothermia. In front of Bella's grave, Romanov promised to take Braga's life with his own hands.

There was a terrified roar from one of the hospital wards. It's been going on for a week and it's always coming from the same place. The only one who could stop the scream was the doctor who gave each patient a sedative special was sober and started shouting.

“We can't let this keep happening Romanov.” Said Jason standing in front of Romanov who was bowed down, “you must move him immediately.”

“Tasya is not crazy!!!” bentak Romanovs.

“Natasha isn't crazy, but she's depressed. He needs special handling elsewhere.” Pinta Jason who began to worry about the progress of Natasha's health after the tragedy.

Romanov squeezed his hair in frustration. He had not expected his little princess to be so shaken. He wanted to know what Braga had done to Natasha at the time so that her daughter would not stop crying hysterically and screaming in fear every time she opened her eyes.

“Do it for Natasha, it's the best.” Persuade Jason.

“Prepare all needs for Natasha, prepare the best psychiatrist in the whole world.” Pinta Romanov. He could not see Tasya tormented for longer even though it meant they had to part ways for some time.

“Keep watching Natasha don't let your guard down a bit.” Romanov orders before heading to Natasha's ward to see how things are going.

Later that night Natasha is transferred to a secret place for mental therapy after experiencing a violent shock after the massacre and murder of her mother in front of her own eyes. Only a handful of people know where Natasha was transferred to. While the information was distributed to the public, Romanov stated that there were no survivors during the attack. His wife and daughter and two adopted children were among the victims of the attack.

After a sudden press conference held in the castle grounds. Romanov shut himself down for months. Drifting in deep sadness. The once cheerful castle is now a silent place. No more cheerfulness and warmth every time you enter the place, there will only be a gloom that greets anyone who enters there.
