The Winter Man

The Winter Man
#92 Coma (2)

They're preparing a device to retrieve Magma's spinal cord. Magma slept sideways on the bed staring at the bed beside her, Yura with her pale face lying helplessly weak with all sorts of life support tools.

"Wake up Yura .." call Magma.

His outstretched hand was about to touch Yura's hand but was unattainable, the man could only reach the side of Yura's bed.

Magma gave a rough snort she was about to get out of her sleep to approach Yura but Doctor Leon held her back.

"Sleep, we need your marrow now."

Magma went back to sleep with a lethargic face. Even when the needle went into his back, there was no pain. Because the pain was replaced with a sad feeling of staring at his sister.

Build Yura. I was just my first big brother, you're in a coma.

There was actually a feeling of pleasure when Magma had a fight with Yura. Magma who had always been lonely as if getting a new color in her life when she knew Yura was her sister, plus now she has complete parents.

Everything would come back different if Yura wasn't around.

After completion, the doctor immediately replaced the infusion fluid with bone marrow obtained from Magma.

"Akkhn ..." Magma was shocked when her back felt so pained when she was about to wake up from her sleep.

"Slow down if you want to wake up," said Doctor Jemi helped Magma to sit down.

Magma sighed. He was a man but could feel the pain when the injection went into his back, he could not imagine the pain Yura felt.

Winter opens the door when Doctor Leon comes out telling the bone marrow donor process is being done.

The man walked straight to his wife. Staring and stroking Yura's head gently. It hurts, that's how he feels now.

"Is he still in a coma?" winter asked Magma who was sitting on the bed to look at Yura.

Magma turned towards Winter and nodded her head.

"This is the last thing we do. Hopefully after this his condition returns to normal .." said Doctor Jemi who was answered nods from Winter.

The donor process has been completed but there have been no signs of Yura's condition returning to normal. He is still in a coma making Winter who is always calm is now angry at the two Doctors who handle Yura.

"Didn't you say the recovery rate after the marrow donor was 70-80℅? where's the outcome?!"

"We're just trying to do our best to help Yura. But healing is not in our hands, sir." Doctor Jemi.

"Doctor Jemi was right Winter ..." Benjamin continued to pacify Winter who looked so angry, disappointed and sad.

"Healing is not in their hands. God is still healing. You can't blame them .." continued Benjamin.

Winter breathed a heavy sigh and sat in the waiting chair, covering her face with both hands.

A feeling of fear enveloped his body. Yura is still in a coma when the last way and considered the best has been done by the Doctors.

Maxime stood stroking his son's shoulders. "Calm Winter ..."

Bayuni and Milan could do nothing but sit back and wish Yura a miracle.

Magma crossed her chest with a look up and closed her chest only to regulate her raging feelings over Yura's disease.

"How can I calm down, Dad. Why should I feel this, my wife is very sick. I wish I had the same story as you and Grandpa .. I also want to end happily ..."

"You and Yura must also end up happy like us, Winter ... Yura is still with us" said Maxime.

Slowly Winter opened the door. Walking closer to the bed where his wife was in a coma, his steps were so weak, his heart was so sick.

Winter was always calm at all times when taking care of Yura. Though this was what the man was afraid of happening, the day that Yura just slept in bed without opening her eyes.

He sat beside the bed, took his wife's hand and kissed the back of his hand with the other hand stroking Yura's head.

He spoke with tears and trembling voice. "If you don't exist .. I don't want to live anymore either Yura .. I've put my whole life at your feet, if you leave then my feet stop walking. I'll come with you ..."

"I can't live it all alone Yura ..."

There was only a sound from the monitor next to Yura's bed that was inhabiting Winter. Signaling Yura's heart was so weak.

Winter lowered her head by sticking the back of Yura's hand on her forehead. She was crying alone in the room. The figure of Winter Louis De Willson who always had a cold and flat face now seemed to change.

No one dared to go with Winter. Maxime asks the others to give his son time to accompany his comatose wife.
