I Love You, My Bodyguard

I Love You, My Bodyguard
Chapter 46

"Question ... what is it." Marshel scratched his own cheek using one finger, feeling a little uneasy over the silly question Xavier had given him. "Of course I'd be happy that young lady Jasmine is getting married to another gentle man like you." Marshel continued while putting on a thin smile, not fully knowing what to respond in the most appropriate way in front of Xavier who he knew very well liked to insult someone else.

Of course Xavier could tell right away that Marshel was lying when he said so. How not? Somehow it feels impossible to be half dead if people who are very, very possessive of Jasmine can-can take off Jasmine married to someone else like that. "What's true, Marshel, even to this point you're still lying. How ridiculous, why would you lie like that, hm?"

It was foreseeable by the man that Xavier would answer like this. I mean, who the hell has ever really managed to lie to this cunning Xavier? Even a class of CIA members like Marshel was difficult to trick Xavier who not infrequently run his business in a way that was really sneaky half-dead. But this does not mean that Marshel will give up easily, the man will of course kink once again to escape from Xavier's talk.

"Why? You wonder? A possessive person like me can let young lady Jasmine marry someone like you? You are so funny, young master Xavier, you may not believe my words. I feel hurt." Marshel tries to tease Xavier, taking advantage of a small gap called gaslighting - where the man tries to flip the conversation by blaming Xavier for not believing it.

Xavier immediately put on a cynical smile while listening to the ridiculous defense that Marshel had presented to him. Sure enough, Marshel could have blamed the man when Xavier chose not to believe the answer given by Marshel at that time. "Hey, hey, don't blame me like that, Marshel! It would be only natural if I did not believe that you could let Jasmine marry someone else, let alone me, given how possessive you are to Jasmine. I mean ...." Xavier let out a long sigh, then looked straight at Marshel's green eyes.

The man who had a tall and stocky body and reddish-brown hair and eyes that had a sea-blue color immediately put on a cynical smile, again, before finally continuing his own words. "It doesn't feel right in my eyes if a guy like you really wants to let Jasmine marry someone else, let alone the fact that whether you're aware of it or not, not infrequently you show your possessive nature towards Jasmine, and again one of my other considerations is the fact that you, too, harbor very strong feelings about Jasmine."

Checkmate!

Sure enough, how could Xavier know how possessive the tall and stocky man and the brown hair and green eyes were to Jasmine? Is it clear from his attitude that he has been showing lately? But it feels impossible too, though, given that lately also Jasmine much prefer to go with Xavier instead of with the bodyguard who always ensure the safety and comfort of Jasmine for twenty-four hours per seven days.

"Well ... I think caught, huh? Well actually of course I will not be willing, even half dead I will never be sincere if young lady Jasmine marries someone else. Whoever it is, but considering my position here is only as a young lady's bodyguard, obviously I have no right to forbid young lady Jasmine to marry anyone." Marshel laughed a little, then sipped canned coffee in the left hand of the bodyguard at that time.

Xavier responded to Marshel's remark with just a faint smile. It seems that when it comes to feelings, for that one man, almost no one can lie to Xavier. Remembering how often Xavier works with women and of course, it is not uncommon to find some type of woman who often hides her feelings or moods about something. "You gave up so quickly, Marshel. Why don't you try first about how you feel about Jasmine? Even if you say that it feels impossible if a bodyguard has a different relationship with his own boss, a lot of you know, women who secretly undergo a different relationship with their bodyguard."

"Stay ..." Marshel let out a long sigh again, as if the burden that the man had felt very, very heavy. "You see, as I have said before, it would not be appropriate if I still forced my will to go through with young lady Jasmine." The bodyguard then finished the canned coffee that he had sipped a little, then looked straight at Xavier's blue eyes that glittered full of insecurity. "Because I am not you, who dare to oppose the social rules that exist only for the sake of your personal will."

I don't know why, though, what Marshel had told the Chief Executive Officer was far more striking than what the tall, stocky man and reddish-brown hair had expected eyes that have the color of blue sea. Well, it does seem like Marshel has a point in this kind of situation, given how often Xavier breaks a rule or a norm, either one that was indeed made or something that subconsciously appeared and ended up being considered as a rule just for the sake of his own sheer satisfaction.

"Hey, hey, Marshel, that was your talk .. It was purposely meant to stab me like this huh?" Xavier chuckled as he opened the sheet, wearing it like a big jacket. "Huh ... The two of us are completely different, huh? You are strict with the rules and I am relaxed, you show your attention by doing something and I use words. Like a coin." Xavier put on a faint smile, previously staring at Marshel straight. "But still you won in Jasmine's eyes and not mine."
