I Love You, My Bodyguard

I Love You, My Bodyguard
Chapter 51

"Well I guess it happened because I seemed to forget to sharpen the knife, so I found it a little difficult to cut the fruits. Sorry, young lady, this time I was being careless." Marshel put on a faint smile, nodding his head, as if avoiding to tell what was the real cause behind the fruity cutout for Jasmine's lunch salad this time.

Jasmine could only nod her head slowly when she heard Marshel's reply, sounding strange and stupid, actually, but what could I do? Marshel would definitely not want to tell her the truth. "So .. Then remind me to buy you a good knife sharpener, so I don't think you'll forget to sharpen the knife once in a while."

Awkward, again the awkward atmosphere occurred between the two people of the opposite sex, for some reason since Jasmine realized that Marshel began to give distance between himself and the man, that one, Jasmine increasingly rarely found the right topic to talk about with the bodyguard, so it was not uncommon for the conversation they both had everyday would not be far from just pleasant words like good morning, good morning, what to eat or what the schedule is today. Making Jasmine go silent again, not knowing what to chat with Marshel using the topic.

"So .. huft .. it's been a long time since we've actually been chatting familiarly like this. I feel awkward half to death ...," Jasmine muttered as she ate the salad carefully, I don't know, ever since the woman was in a relationship with Xavier, somehow his relationship with Marshel also felt stretched and cracked little by little, whether Marshel realized it or not.

Moreover, Jasmine who had originally chosen to slightly move away from Marshel for the man to come to his senses instead seemed to turn into a weapon of master eating, the effect of which was even more pronounced when Jasmine could not travel with Xavier. "I don't know what kind of topic you like, nor do we both rarely talk."

Marshel could only nod his head a few times, what Jasmine had told him was indeed true and for this time, it seemed that there was no longer any gap for Marshel to escape, obviously it was the same as it meant that Marshel would inevitably have to accompany Jasmine in conversation, while remaining aware that he seems to have no chance at all to reverse the situation according to what Marshel wants. "Yes, young lady .. We rarely talk to each other, and I guess it's my fault, young lady." Marshel said full of resignation.

"That! That's the one I want to talk to you about, Marshel. Wh why? Why did you choose to stay away from me instead of the two of us being able to talk about this matter so well? Did you come back .. I don't know, hating me because I was in a different relationship with Xavier? Or how?"

Jasmine asked as she put back the salad bowl she had eaten a little, though, then looked straight at the man who had a tall and stocky body and brown hair and green eyes with a gaze that absolutely could not be interpreted at all by anyone. "Let's just say, Marshel, Xavier is not here," forced Jasmine once again on the bodyguard.

"But why do you feel like you're starting to keep a little distance from me? I mean, why don't you have any effort at all to get me to talk, or at least maybe get close to me again?" Jasmine asked while pulling Marshel's collar, looking at the man with a straight look, as if she was forcing Marshel to give the woman an explanation that felt plausible to Jasmine at the time. "Answer me with your plausible reasoning, Marshel! Don't be silly like that!" force Jasmine again, staring at the green eyes that seemed reluctant to be half-dead to display any emotion, making Jasmine feel even more furious just to see Marshel like that.

Marshel could only laugh softly when responding to the anger that had been revealed by the beautiful woman who had hair that had a nearly white yellow color that looked to have eyes that had the blue of the sea, gently, the bodyguard then removed Jasmine's hand from her collar, and allowed Jasmine to sit back in her original place.

"Look, young lady. I just feel that the difference in social strata that we have is felt even further away, not to mention that the existence of young master Xavier has explained everything to me. It's just, it doesn't mean I hate you or young master Xavier just because you two have different relationships with each other, either, but more in the direction because I just want to give you and young master Xavier a place,  at least the only thing I can do after I hurt you is how bad it was a few months or maybe a year ago."

The man then let out a long sigh, then pushed the young lady's salad bowl towards Jasmine while putting a thin smile on her handsome face. "You understand why, don't you? So why don't you continue your lunch? You know very well that it's not a good idea to let apples and some fruits just like that in the open air, do you?"

Those silly questions had indeed been deliberately issued by Marshel to at least turn Jasmine's attention in the other direction, because for now, it was, the bodyguard who was half-dead reluctant to display his emotions and moods, was reluctant half-dead to talk about his feelings with Jasmine, and what was the real reason behind Marshel deciding to start keeping a distance from both Jasmine and Xavier.

And, at least this time the man could feel grateful as well as lucky because Jasmine did not speak anything, but just continued her food at that time, stopping the conversation just like that.
