CHAPTER 31: THE ARMISTICE

Not yet at the front door, Ari's mother has already picked her out.

"Please come in, well, it's great to have guests." Welcomed friendly.

"Know, ma. This is Nelly, Ari's friend. Nel, this is my mother." said Ari. "Call me mother. My name is Susanti." said Ari's mother shaking Nelly's hand. "Happy birthday, ma'am" said Nelly, handing over her card.

"Wow, bother you, this Nelly boy. Come on Ari, let's go in dong." Said Ari's mother.

Pandu then introduced one by one his family members who were gathered there all.

The evening meal was simple, vegetable stir-fry shrimp, fried tempeh, sambal terasi and ca kale. Nelly has added kale twice. He really enjoyed the atmosphere of Ari's house that night. Maybe because at home he rarely, or arguably almost never had a dinner together. Especially because Ari's family so kindly accepted it.

They seemed not to think of Nelly as a guest, but rather like the arrival of an old friend. Seeing Ari's family so harmonious, Nelly actually felt inferior. But for a moment the sense of inferiority was gone, because it was fun chatting with Ari and her brothers.

Just this time Ari saw Nelly's face so close. From near the gini so the sweetness is more obvious. Nelly's face was clean without a stain. No pimples, boils, or ringworm.
