Early in the morning, Ayu was surprised by Naura's body which suddenly became hot, but last night her adopted son was still fine.
Immediately the woman took a towel and water in a small container, to compress Naura.
At first he only wanted to see Naura before performing the night prayer, but, all of that made him surprised, while getting his son's body shivering with a pale face.
“Astagfirullah, you why, baby?” lirih Ayu, while checking Naura's body temperature. There was worry on that pretty face.
So busy and too focused on taking care of Naura, Ayu did not even realize that it had been a few hours to leave the room, until now the dawn of the morning had reverberated.
In her room, Ezra had just wriggled trying to gather her consciousness, one of her hands touching the other side of her bed, which was usually occupied by Ayu.
His eyes frowned as he felt that there was no body of his wife there, even that place had felt cold, it seemed that Ayu had left him long ago.
“Honey!” he called out his gaze to the whole corner of the room, but there was no wife there.
“Honey, are you inside?” Ezra knocked on the bathroom door, although there was no water splashing.
There was no answer, Ezra opened it slowly, his eyes were again looking for Ayu.
“Cosong? Where is he?” he murmured, while walking towards the door.
“Bi, Nindi where ya?” her question was on Bi Yati who happened to pass in front of her room.
“Mother in room Non Naura, Sir. This I want to deliver prayer equipment there,” Bi Yati replied, while showing the folds of mukena in her hand.
Ezra nodded faintly, in his mind probably Ayu and Naura would pray together in his son's room.
“Sini, Bi. Let me just deliver.” Ezra stretched out his hand, asking for the face in Bi Yati's hand.
“This, Sir. Then I go back to the bottom.” Bi yati handed the mukena to Ezra, then went back downstairs, to get back to work.
Ezra nodded, then continued his steps towards Naura's room which was just a distance away by her study, just like at her parents' house.
“Darling, are you here? I know you, uh know it here,” said Ezra as he walked in.
His forehead puckered softly when he saw Ayu's sad gaze.
“Mas,” said Ayu, seeing Ezra's arrival made him unable to contain his guilt.
Yes, she blames herself for the pain Naura suffered.
“What's up, baby?” ezra asked, embracing his wife's body.
“Naura her body is hot from last night, I do not know why, I have compressed but not down,” explained Ayu, with a hoarse voice like holding back a cry.
“Hot? Try me to see first,” he said to take his hand off Ayu's body, then sit next to Naura, stick the back of his hand on his forehead and his son's neck.
“Mas, we go to the hospital or call Ansel?” said Ayu, he just remembered all that, because he was too panicked, he even forgot what to do.
Ezra nodded, he also felt worried because Naura's heat was quite high.
“Now we pray first, later after it is new to the hospital.”
Ayu nodded, agreeing.
Ezra goes back to his room to prepare for prayer, while Ayu prepares a place for herself and her husband.
Moments later, Ezra had driven his car out of the gate of the mansion.
Ayu sat in the back with her thighs cushioning for Naura, while Ezra was driving in the front.
Before long, in just about five minutes, they had already arrived at the nearest hospital.
Ezra directly carried Naura to the ER room, while Ayu took care of the administration.
The couple worked well together, so Naura could be given first aid and get treatment.
“How is Naura doing, Mas?” ayu asked, after finishing the administrative affairs.
He saw that the little arm had been stuck in an intravenous needle, with Ezra stroking his son's head.
“Doctors suggest for a blood test, because the heat is too high,” he replied.
Ayu nodded weakly, she could not bear to see that cheerful smiling face was now turning pale, as well as with an infusion needle on her tiny arm.
Moments later, Naura has been transferred to the hospital room, her blood test results show that she has dengue fever, but, still in the symptom stage.
Even Naura was never invited to the slums, either where Naura was bitten by a mosquito carrying the disease.
Ayu waited and took care of Naura so painstakingly and patiently. Ezra immediately called Bi Yati, to deliver their change of clothes to the hospital, as well as bring breakfast.
The day had gone by, when Naura began to open her eyes, with a small whimper of her pale lips.
“Sshh, this is Mama, dear ... Which one hurts, dear?” lirih Ayu while rubbing his forehead to the top of Naura's head.
Slowly the eyes opened with water gathered in the crackers, his nose reddened, it seemed that soon the child would cry.
“Mama, dizzy, everything was rocking,” his whine, both his hands stretched out in front of Ayu, asking to be carried.
“Sshh, patience yes, dear. Soon also healed, Naura is a strong Mama's child, here let Mama carry,” Ayu immediately stood carrying her like a koala child, he said, then he sat down in the cage that had previously been Naura's bed.
Carefully, Ayu positioned Naura to lie sideways on her lap, making it feel more comfortable. But, as Naura refused, the boy felt more comfortable in the arms of his mother.
“I want to kayak gini, Mah,” Og Naura, slipping her face under Ayu's chin. Both of his hands hugged tightly at mom's waist.
“Hem, okay. But, this is not too tight, later his hand hurts,” Ayu stroked Naura's hand with her needle infusion. Slowly the child relaxed and slowly let go of his embrace.
Ezra smiled gently staring at the interaction of the two women in front of him.
Today he will not go to the office, he will focus on helping Ayu take care of Naura in the hospital.
During the day Nawang and Garry came with worried faces.
They saw Ayu who was exhausted because all day Naura did not want to escape from her sling. Even the little girl would wake up if Ayu just shifted a little from her body.
“Darling, same Grandma used to yuk, pity Mama is tired,” woo Nawang, not long after she came.
Naura shook her head with her hands continuously coiled around Ayu's body, currently Ayu's position is lying on her side with one hand holding the child.
Nawang let out a long breath, his pushy gaze staring at the faces of his granddaughter and son-in-law.
“From when is Naura hot, Ndi?” nawang asked, his hand rubbing his grandson's hair softly.
“It seems since last night, Ma. It's because I invited him to sleep not yet hot. I also just found out at two o'clock at night, when I checked him in the room,” explained Ayu.
Nawang nodded his head, his gaze scrutinizing the face of his daughter-in-law who looked faint and slightly pale.
Her heart was indeed happy to see such sincere attention from Ayu for her grandson, but, she also felt pity when she saw Ayu who had not thought about her health in order to take care of Naura.
“Zra, you replace dong with Nindi, your wife until pale so her face,” he said turning to Ezra who was talking to Garry on the sofa.
“If Naura wants, from earlier also Ezra dressingin, Ma,” replied Ezra.
Since then he had persuaded his son to take turns hugging him, but Naura always refused, the little girl seemed to get a different calm from Ayu. Until he does not want to be replaced with himself who incidentally is his biological father.
“You've eaten, Ndi?” asked Nawang, turning again to his daughter-in-law.
“Already, Ma. Earlier while nyuapin
Naura eat,” Ayu replied. Her heart was so moved to get the little attention given by her in-laws. A mother's attention to her child that she has never felt for a long time.
“Still, Ma?” said Ayu, a smile was seen on her face, even though her eyes looked teary.
“Kok thanks, why?” Nawang frowned.
“Thank you for accepting me,” explained Ayu, as hard as she tried to hold back the tears in her eyes, even though one drop escaped as well.
In his heart he was upset with himself which was somehow very difficult to control.
‘Why am I so melow gini anyway?’ frangipani.
“Which sane old man is willing to let go of a sincere woman like you, Ndi. Only people who already have no common sense or are blind cannot see sincerity in you, dear.” Nawang held the hand of his son-in-law who was on Naura's back.
“It's not you who should be thanking us, but, we. We who should be grateful because you want to accept Ezra and Naura have also taken care of them very well and sincerely,”.
That afternoon Nawang and Garry decide to stay in the hospital to accompany Ayu and Ezra, although they also cannot help Ayu in caring for Naura.
Both of Ezra's parents decided to go home after the day began to run in the afternoon, because there will be an evening event with their business partners.
