Sonia snorted coldly as her eyes shone triumphantly.
Suddenly, a male employee exclaimed loudly: "Hey, he is here. The manager's mother is here!"
"Where?"
"Where's the car?" someone asked. "Why haven't I seen her?"
"The person sitting on the bonnet of the electric scooter is like the Manager Mom!" A male employee pointed at the scooter that was slowly approaching the shoulder of the road.
"Geez, that's right! Who's the guy? Definitely not her husband, is she? There was a bag of flowers on his lap. Was her husband on his way to work and dropped off his wife here?"
Felicia was shocked by what she saw.
"Could it? Didn't you say the manager's salary is a million dollars a month? With such a high salary, why does her husband have to come to work?"
A male employee frowned at the words of his co-worker.
"Hehe. You may not know but she is a very famous beautiful woman, Selena Taylor. He's the one who was kicked out by the Taylor family" he added. "His husband must have returned from the war!"
"Tell me something, yeah. You know why he's riding on an electric scooter? That's because he doesn't have any money. Some time ago, someone saw Selena with her daughter scavenging garbage for sale. No one knows for sure how he got a million-dollar-a-month job. Besides, isn't it still a month away, is it the payday?"
Felicia scoffs and spills what she knows to other employees.
"There's no way he doesn't have money. If he doesn't have the money, why would the manager invite us to a six-star hotel?"
The male employee interjected after thinking for a moment.
"I'm sure the manager must be a rich man."
"If he's rich, why doesn't he buy a car? Why is he riding an electric scooter?"
"Hey, what are you talking about? Anyway, today the manager treated us. It's none of our business if he has the money or not. We just need to enjoy tonight!"
Sonia commented smartass.
After Fane and Selena find a place to park the scooter, they go hand in hand.
Selena joined the crowd, smiling happily. "I'm sorry to keep everyone waiting!"
"Don't worry, Madam Manager. We also just got there" a female employee replied cheerfully.
"Let me introduce everyone. This is my husband, Fane! He just got home from work, so he came to pick me up!"
Sonia smiled at Fane. "Your husband's. I heard he used to be a food deliveryman, 'yeah? That's when he enlisted in the military in the name of Young Master Taylor, right?"
Selena's face turned grim but she tried to force a polite smile. "Wow, Supervisor, you know things!"
"Hehe. I do know a lot of things. I also heard that a few days ago our manager was scavenging garbage. Why are you suddenly a manager? It's so awesome!" Sonia sneering. "You two are so good!"
"Mother Manager, Sonia meant to insult, not the other way around!"
Felicia stepped forward and reminded Selena.
"really? Oh, I'm so stupid. I think that's a great way to praise people. It turns out that I'm so stupid, maybe I should learn a lot more!" Sonia said with a smile.
"Beautiful girl, did you brush your teeth today?" Fane suddenly denied coldly.
"of course. Why the hell?"
"But why does your mouth smell so bad?"
