"Mr Lu, I'll check on you right now."

"Have the two of us met before?" ask Rey to make sure. Jessica tried to remember and then shook her head.

"I don't think so yet. What's the matter, Master Lu asked like that?" ask Jessica curiously.

"It's nothing. It's just that your voice doesn't sound foreign to my ears. I thought I'd met you before, but it seems like it's just my feeling."

"Beautiful aunt, when will Papa Laurent be able to come home?"

Then Jessica's gaze rolled on Laurent.

"Maybe next week. Papa Laurent's injuries were quite severe, and required intensive care let alone injury to his left eye. So, Laurent has to be patient again ne."

Laurent immediately bent his sad face after hearing Jessica's explanation. "That means Laurent has to stay with mom alone, Laurent doesn't want to, Laurent doesn't want to be bullied by her anymore. Mama's so terrible." Both of Laurent's eyes were back in tears and ready to drip.

Seeing it makes Jessica's heart as if in a squeeze. The woman approached Laurent and knelt in front of him. "Or put it this way, as long as Papa Laurent is still in the hospital, what if Laurent lives with his Aunt and Kevin? Auntie doesn't mind, how?"

"Did Papa allow it? Laurent won't if Papa won't let." Then Laurent's gaze rolled on Rey who was also staring at him.

"Mr Lu, I hope you can allow Laurent to stay with me temporarily, at least until you get out of here." Jessica tries to persuade Rey that she will allow her daughter to stay with her for a while.

Rey sighed heavily, seemingly having no choice but to agree.

"Alright, Papa allow but on one condition. Laurent shouldn't be naughty let alone bother a doctor's aunt." Laurent nodded enthusiastically, he looked so happy that Rey allowed him to.

Rey had never seen Laurent behave like this before. He can at least be close to any woman including Tiffany who notbainnya is his biological mother. But it's strange that Laurent has shown a different attitude since he first met Jessica.

Rey really felt weird, but she didn't want to think about it either, it's possible that it happened because of Laurent's thirst for affection and the embracement of a mother he never got from Tiffany.

"I'm going to ask someone to deliver all of Laurent's needs to your home like clothes and other necessities" Rey told Jessica.

"BOSS." Breaking at the door and shouting loudly someone made everyone in the room almost have an impromptu heart attack. Chan appeared to approach Rey with a panicked look full of anxiety.

"Bo-Boss, what happened to you? Why did you get to be like this? Who would dare to do this to you? Tell me, I will definitely beat that guy up for you!!" Ask curiously.

"Nothing, everything that happened to me was purely an accident. And are you tired of living, Chan? And if it's true, what way do you choose to die? Shot or mutilated, I gave me the freedom to choose." Rey said in a low tone but it sounded so dangerous.

Cold sweat instantly glided at Chan temple. "Amit-amit seven derivative, I don't want everything. Oya, Boss, who is this beautiful lady? Is he a doctor at the hospital? Can we meet?" Chan tried to tease Jessica who had not left there "Include the doctor, my name is...!"

Chan's hand was immediately brimmed by Laurent who was now standing in front of Jessica while stretching out his two hands. "Uncle pole. Rey really felt bad for Jessica because of her daughter's words, and Rey never thought that Laurent would say such a sentence in front of Jessica.

Chan hurriedly shook his head. "Starting tonight, Laurent will be staying with Jessica's doctor for as long as I'm in the hospital. Go and take them home, meet all the needs Laurent needs while he's there. I can't let my daughter stay with that female fox as long as I'm still here."

"Okay Boss, it's not a hard thing. Then I'll go first." And then Chan's figure had disappeared behind the door, telling Rey alone in the room.

Jessica tried to persuade him but of course it was not easy considering how arrogant Kevin was.

"Mi, why did you have to bring this short boy to this house to live with us? Doesn't he still have a family and after all he's none of us, he's just a stranger so you'd better get rid of it." Pinta Kevin who openly shows his dislike for Laurent.

"Why do you even mind me here? After all, the beautiful aunt herself invited me back to this house, even she begged and asked Papa for permission so that she would allow it. So you won't be able to kick me out. I really like a pretty aunt and I want to be close to her."

"Why do you have to like my mom?"

The sound of the door opening from the outside distracts Rey from the laptop screen on her lap. His right eye squinted at Kevin's arrival there

"You're Astoria's doctor's son, right? What are you doing here? Are you looking for him?" ask Rey without further ado.

"No, mommy's home and I'm here to ask uncle one thing, and this is about your chatty daughter."

"What happened to Laurent? Did he make trouble during your stay with you?" Kevin shakes. "Want to?"

"I'm straight to the point. Can you, Uncle bring Uncle's daughter home? To be honest, I feel uncomfortable staying one-stop with a stranger, and I don't guarantee that your daughter will be okay from being cared for by a lame woman like Mami. My mom sucks at everything, she can't do any work at home let alone cook. So how's he gonna feed your daughter?"

Rey turned her eyes back. Seeing Kevin's nature reminds Rey of him when he was six years old. Kevin was 11-12 with himself at the time. And like Kevin, Rey can at least stay one roof with strangers, and it takes years for her to get used to and accept the presence of strangers around her.

"So because of that problem you came to see me these nights?" ask Rey, Kevin nodded.

Rey held onto Kevin's shoulder and locked his iris. "Listen, Son! Not everyone who is around you is bad. Uncle was in your position and just like you, Uncle rejected everyone around Uncle because Uncle felt dislike for them. But finally Uncle realized, if Uncle can not live forever alone and need others to stand firmly."

"Maybe it takes time but you'll get used to it. And the food stuff during Laurent's stay there, you don't have to worry. I'll ask the house people to send food to your house. You'd better go home now, your mom's really worried about you."

If only Lee Chan had been there and listened to what Rey had to say, he would have cried hysterically to hear Rey talk all that time.

If he usually acts cold, haughty and arrogant, but tonight he was so wise and full of gentleness when talking to Kevin even though the look in his eyes remained flat.

Kevin was heavy. "Okay Uncle, I'll go now. I appreciate your advice and I won't throw your daughter out." Then Kevin put both his hands in his pants pocket and left.

Rey picked up her phone lying on the table and immediately contacted someone."Take the little boy who just left my room, and take him home." Pinta Rey then disconnects her phone just like that.

Rey pressed her left chest. Somehow he felt a strange thump when he looked into Kevin's eyes, there was something in Kevin that made Rey have a feeling of affection for him since he first looked into his black eyes.
