Chapter 16

Early in the morning, Ms. Ismiyati was in the stall as usual to buy kitchen needs. For the umpteenth time, the mother of Dimas was back to meet Adam who was busy shopping.

So often met at the stall, it seems the task of shopping is indeed charged by Adam. "Shop again, Mum?" greetings to Adam Ismiyati.

"Yes, Mom. What are you cooking today?" ask Adam to talk.

"The perfect cook. Cook the soup like a good one" said Ms. Ismiyati. "Where's Manda's sister, Mas? Lately, why is Adam shopping so much?"

As usual, Adam always gave a casual answer whenever Ms. Ismiyati asked for the whereabouts of his wife. "It's home, Mom. Again playing with children," said Adam lightly.

Ms. Ismiyati looked dumbfounded. Yesterday Adam still gave excuses about his wife who was busy or had other business. But this time it was easy to say that his wife was at home and playing with her toddler son. Obviously Manda was not busy, but Manda still asked Adam to shop for kitchen needs.

"Why didn't Manda go shopping?" ask Ms. Ismiyati later. "Mother Manda just keep the kids at home?"

Adam smiled at the smile. "There's no harm in me shopping, right, Mom?"

It's not wrong. But if his wife is just relaxing at home, why should Adam still take care of the kitchen needs? Why isn't Manda shopping? Why is Adam so spoiling his wife? That's what Miss Ismiyati thought.

"There's nothing wrong, anyway. But it's more fitting that Manda's mom goes shopping, right? Moreover, Manda is also not busy at home," said Ms. Ismiyati.

"According to Mom, men don't deserve to shop at the stall?" ask Adam.

"Well, if you have a wife, you better take care of the kitchen, right?"

Ms. Ismiyati immediately left after she finished shopping. On the way home, the middle-aged woman continued to grumble at the thought of Adam's family who was considered strange by him. "A husband should not overindulge his wife to all her, right? He really wants to shop, while his wife just relax and play with children" grumbled Bu Ismiyati.

At midnight, Ms. Ismiyati awoke from her sleep due to an attacking thirst. The woman who had rested got up from the bed and rushed to the kitchen.

However, Ms. Ismiyati's steps stopped as soon as she heard the sound of someone speaking. Out of curiosity, finally Bu Ismiyati turned and preferred to find out the voice that he faintly heard it.

"Dimas hasn't slept?" muttered Bu Ismiyati as she stepped into her son's room.

Whose other voice is heard in his ear if not his son's voice, considering that Bu Ismiyati is only at home with her son.

"Who are you talking to?"

Ms. Ismiyati also deliberately eavesdropped on her son's conversation with someone. Looks like Dimas was talking to someone over the phone.

"Tiara, where are you?" asked Dimas in a faint voice.

"Who's phone?" mummy Bu Ismiyati is curious.

Dimas pleaded with Tiara to tell him his address and asked his wife to come home. Ms. Ismiyati heard clearly the voice of her son who mentioned the name Tiara.
