Part 47 - Anniversary

One week has passed after Jenny and Arjuna's proposal show. Their parents decide to speed up Arjuna's marriage to Jenny. Verlita and Linda do not want to delay any longer, according to them Arjuna and Jenny are both adults no longer have time for them to know the term dating, according to them, after all, with the presence of Cleo was enough to answer the love between them.

Verlita had found a fitting wedding date for her son. Their marriage will take place one month after the proposal. Jenny has asked Verlita not to hold a fancy wedding, Jenny just wants a simple party, even if there is no need for a party. It was enough for the marriage pillars to be present, that was more than enough for Jenny.

Although Jenny's wedding will take place in about a month, Jenny still continues to struggle with her busy work at the office, still taking care of all the wedding receptions of clients.

"The bride-to-be is busy."

Babe Franda, tease Jenny who is busy at her desk.

"Who wants to be a bride?"

Ask William who happened to walk past Jenny's desk and stop his steps.

"Sir William doesn't know?"

Franda felt strange, William should know better than Franda, because William had long put his heart on Jenny.

"Seriously Franda, I don't know anything."

William was curious.

"Mba Jenny wants to remarry sir."

William's heart was shocked to hear Franda's words just now. There was a deep sense of disappointment from William's inner self. Her hopes for Jenny are now gone.

"Is Jenn right?"

William now looks at Jenny fixedly, wanting to hear the truth from Jenny's mouth straight away.

"Yes Mr. William."

Jenny replied with a nod of her head, taking her eyes off her work monitor.

Who is Jenn?

Inner William wondered, who was the lucky man to get Jenny's heart?

William wanted to ask Jenny directly, but he paused because there were still some other employees there. Murat was disappointed in William's face.

"Good good Jenn. I hope he's the right man for you."

William thrusts his hand in front of Jenny, congratulating Jenny, though his heart must swallow a deep sense of disappointment.

"Thank you, Mr. William."

Jenny won William's hand. Actually the feeling of disappointment from William is able to Jenny feel, but Jenny prefers to pretend not to know. Jenny does not want to question or discuss about William's feelings for her. However William is a man who is always there for Jenny, it feels unable for Jenny to hurt a man as good as William.

Arjuna is busy controlling all the business developments in several branch offices, comparing all the achievement data between last month and the current month.

Arjuna opened an email containing a daily attachment report. The email was just sent this morning by several managers at Arjuna's branch office.

When opening the email, Arjuna's eyes suddenly jolted to see the current date, which is the fifth of May, the anniversary of his marriage with Claudia.

Arjuna's mood instantly changes when he remembers the date of his wedding anniversary with Claudia, his inner self still misses Claudia. If death hadn't come, Arjuna might still be with Claudia.

Arjuna closed his laptop screen and got up from his seat. Arjuna's steps in a hurry, where would he go? What is clear is that Arjuna's heart now feels uncertain.

About a half-hour drive Arjuna had parked his car in the cemetery area, carrying a bunch of flowers in his right hand. Then Arjuna steps along to several tombstones, until finally he stops at a tombstone that says the name Claudia Aurelia.

"How are you, baby?"

Arjuna muttered alone as he placed the flower arrangement on the side of Claudia's tombstone.

"I'm sorry I've forgotten you lately."

Arjuna rubbed Claudia's name there.

"I don't mean to betray our love. This love is still there for you, baby. Forgive me for not being able to fulfill my promise to you that you are my only love in this world."

Somehow Arjuna feels very guilty if he remembers the marriage he will have with Jenny in the near future.

"I didn't mean to hurt you, there was no intention for me to betray my promise to you Cla."

Arjuna had promised Claudia that her love was only for Claudia until anytime, it would never be shared with other women. Today is right on the wedding anniversary that should be the seventh year with Claudia, as if to hit Arjuna's heart.

Arjuna feels that his relationship with Jenny is part of his form of betrayal of Claudia. Especially if Arjuna remembered Cleo, making Arjuna's guilt even greater against Claudia.

"I never thought before that God would take away the love we have built together. Me and Clarisa miss you so much, baby."

Arjuna's heart is getting crowded. Especially when imagining the face of Clarisa who always says she misses her mamih.

"Look over there, Cla."

Arjuna was still staring at the inscription of Claudia's name, then he got up to leave Claudia's grave. Her guilt was still in Arjuna's mind, unable to be cleared anymore.

Today Arjuna is weakened again by destiny. The love that was too loyal to his late wife, just back to torment him when Arjuna had started to step for a new life.
