Part 48 - Disappointed

Tonight is a very tiring night for Jenny after a day of time seized by work activities. Not to mention Cleo who is super fussy today, the more draining Jenny's energy. Tonight Cleo is very difficult to sleep early, her mouth is always calling the word papah.  Surely Cleo misses Arjuna very much because Arjuna did not come to see him today.

There's something strange Jenny thinks Arjuna's attitude is today. Arjuna doesn't intensely contact Jenny like his usual days. Arjuna also never absent to Jenny's house to see her son, but today Arjuna did not come. Jenny and Cleo were waiting for her to arrive at work.

Is it possible that Arjuna is too busy in the office? There was no time to tell Jenny. Or something unwanted happened to Arjuna?

Jenny's mind is getting more uncertain, guessing the reason Arjuna disappeared all day. Jenny wanted to call Arjuna, but her intention was to undo it. Jenny is afraid that Arjuna is still busy with office affairs, considering Arjuna who often works part-time if he finds obstacles about his business.

Finally Jenny decided to send a whatsapp message to Arjuna, after seeing Cleo who had fallen asleep beside Jenny.

:: Arjuna ::

Arjunaku, I hope you're okay there.

Cleo always calls your name, misses you.

Until I was confused looking for the right reason to answer your little whiz question.

The whatsapp message Jenny sent to Arjuna never got a reply. Tired of waiting for Arjuna's reply made Jenny feel immeasurable sleepiness. Finally Jenny was carried away to sleep with her beloved son, carried away by dreamland that will relieve fatigue in his body a little.

Let today Jenny feel disappointed, hoping tomorrow morning things will be better like yesterday. Actually, it is not only Cleo who misses Arjuna, Jenny's little heart also misses her future husband. Let the longing Jenny keep with the dream and her tiredness at the end of the night.

At about ten in the evening Arjuna had just returned from the office. There's something different about Arjuna's return tonight. Arjuna did not return to Verlita's house, nor did he meet Clarisa, he instead returned to his luxurious apartment.

Every time there was a problem weighing on his mind, Arjuna would not return to his mother's house. He would lock himself up in the apartment, just to calm himself down.

The pitch-black-eyed handsome man threw his body over the sofa, his hands loosened the dongker color tie he was wearing, then rolled his shirt sleeves up to the elbows.

Arjuna leaned his body on the sofa, closing his eyes for a moment. The life story he had been through with Claudia has now resurfaced. Memory was like playing back, starting from the first meeting with Claudia, until Claudia was snatched by death. Everything is still vividly reflected in Arjuna's memory.

The promise that Arjuna made to the late Claudia haunts his mind even more.

"Why does our destiny have to be like this Cla?"

The whisper of Arjuna still closed his eyes.

Claudia's shadow is now gone to change into Jenny's figure in Arjuna's mind. Then Arjuna got up from his sitting position leaning on the sofa, grabbing the phone that was in his pants pocket.

Arjuna opens the phone screen, there are some message notifications that have not been read. Messages on Arjuna's phone almost all discuss office matters, ranging from whatsapp groups to some business relations. But there is one name that tickles Arjuna's heart, when he sees the name Jenny who sends a message that he has not read.

Jemari Arjuna was immediately addressed to Jenny's name, not wanting to care about other messages.

While Arjuna was pensive after reading the contents of Jenny's message, Arjuna's little heart actually missed Cleo and Jenny. But that belief seemed to collapse from the mind of Arjuna, the name Claudia who actually played a role in his mind.

"I'm sorry papa son."

That was all that was said from Arjuna's lips while massaging the tip of his eyes that held back sorrow and doubt.

The next day Jenny had been on her usual activities, although her heart was still wondering if Arjuna would disappear without any news. Not even Jenny's message last night got a reply. Jenny had already tried to contact Arjuna, unfortunately it only sounded a busy tone from the operator.

What really happened to you Arjuna?

Jenny wondered.

Jenny does not want to dissolve in the complicated love story, she decided to go back to work, because today is a busy day for Jenny to find some catering suppliers and souvenirs for her clients.

"Where'd Jenn go?"

William's question stopped Jenny's steps who had been carrying a black handbag.

"Obviously Mr. William, I would like to survey some typical Yogyakarta catering for our clients. All of you want to find some sampling of the souvenirs too."

William smiled warmly at Jenny's explanation. William thinks Jenny should be busy taking care of her own wedding, but she's busy with the client's wedding.

Jenny slightly teases William with her call, trying to break the awkwardness between them.

"Come on! I'm temenin."

William unhesitatingly pulled Jenny's arm excitedly. This is William's last chance to be with Jenny, before Jenny legitimately belongs to another man.

Today Jenny came home a little late than usual, she was too excited to look for souvenir trinkets. Moreover, Jenny accompanied by William, the man was like trying to slow down time in order to linger with Jenny.

Just as Jenny opened the main door, she was startled by the sight between the boy and the chatting father letting go of longing. Arjuna comes to Jenny's house to meet her son who is now comfortable in Arjuna's lap.

"Ma ma ma."

Call Cleo when she sees her mother still standing at the door with a blank look towards Arjuna.

Jenny immediately put her bag on the living room table and grabbed Cleo from Arjuna's lap.

"Mama mmuach's son."

Jenny kissed her son's cheek, letting go of his longing, ignoring Arjuna's whereabouts.

Jenny's inner self felt like she was being disrespected by Arjuna, feeling neglected by her future husband. Especially when Cleo called out the word papah it felt very stifling Jenny.

"Where have you been, Jenn?"

Now Arjuna who opens his voice, not usually Jenny comes home late without giving news to Arjuna.

"Occusual work."

Jenny replied as necessary, without looking at Arjuna. Jenny was still busy patting the back of her son who was getting sleepy in Jenny's arms.

Arjuna just kept quiet, not wanting to chim in on Jenny's words again.

Jenny still ignored Arjuna, she went to the room with Cleo who was getting sleepy.

About half an hour Jenny had laid her body in the room, accompanied Cleo to sleep, now Jenny stepped into the kitchen. Jenny was a little thirsty, rushing to get some cold water in the fridge.

"Where have you been, Jenn?"

Just as Jenny sipped some water, Arjuna came back with the same question. Jenny thought Arjuna had left her house.

"Not that I told you, I have business."

Jenny gave the same answer.

"Job with another man?"

Finally the question slid from Arjuna's lips. Though Arjuna had already wanted to release that sentence. It's just Cleo's presence that makes Arjuna undo it again.

Arjuna finds out that Jenny is leaving with William. Someone accidentally sends a photo of their intimacy to Arjuna, when Jenny and William break for lunch together.

"As far as you are Arjuna, what will you assume? What is clear is that I went with William about the work I was doing together. Sorry if I didn't give you the news. Didn't you leave yesterday without any news?"

Arjuna just kept silent and did not say a word, then rushed out from Jenny's presence.

If Arjuna knew that actually Jenny's heart felt countless tightness after opposing Arjuna's question just now.

Jenny was just trying to be strong in front of Arjuna. Even if their marriage gets annulled, Jenny will be ready to take it all in. Jenny's heart was tired of being hurt again and again.
