Light Cultivation
Eps. 15 — Dragon Empire

Jian Wu coughed softly as his Clan Leader looked at his son without blinking, the girl was a little misbehaved when she realized that his actions were making Jian Wu smile meaningfully.

After all, her Clan Leader was still a girl, it was no wonder that she could be attracted to the opposite sex just that Jian Chen was too young for her.

“Mm... Isn't Chen’er now 14 years old?” Jian Ya tried to be as graceful as possible, he continued the topic of the previous conversation. “For her age she was enough to enter the Academy in the Capital City. But unfortunately..”.

“Chairman Yes, can not you bring one more person, bring Chen’er there.”

Jian Ya smiled faintly. “I can't choose to take him there but if Senior Wu wants me to choose him to enter the Academy he should be eligible to enter there.”

There was always a quota per year for each Clan to enter someone into the Academy. In this year Jian Ya had chosen those children and now her quota was full.

Jian Ya did not choose Jian Chen because he was too young, usually he would appoint a 15-17 year old first.

“Layak? So Chen’er there is still hope to enter?” Feeling that there was an exception, Jian Wu became hopeful again.

Jian Ya nodded. “I have to test his abilities by fighting directly with me. If Chen’er has abilities that match my criteria, it is not difficult to enter it into the Academy.”

Hearing that Jian Wu's gaze turned to his wife for an opinion, Jian Ran nodded slowly and agreed.

“Chen’er, can you?” Jian Wu then turned to his son who was immediately taken in by him.

Jian Ya inwardly laughed a little. Actually the main purpose of him here was to want to see and test Jian Chen's ability.

Beside the courtyard where Jian Wu used to practice, Jian Ya and Jian Chen were facing each other. Jian Chen had been told the previous day by his parents there was a possibility that he would have to show his strength in front of Jian Ya.

“Chen’er, you can start it first, I will see your ability first.”.

Jian Chen nodded. “Then please guide the chairman.”

Jian Chen moved forward while giving a blank-handed attack, using his punches and kicks Jian Chen could make Jian Ya so wary.

“Trade Lotus Flower?!” Jian Ya's eyes opened wide upon recognizing the technique Jian Chen was using. He looked at the other side right towards Jian Ran who was watching because this was a technique that came from him.

‘So, Chen’er is a bare-handed expert, I think he will become a swordsman like his father.’

Jian Ya thought while dodging Jian Chen's attacks easily, not because Jian Chen had not properly used his technique more clearly Jian Ya had already memorized the technique.

You could say Jian Ya could also use the technique so she knew her weaknesses directly.

On the other hand, Jian Chen smiled faintly, he could only use the martial arts that his mother taught him. If not for fear of his parents being suspicious, he had a deadly technique that made winning easier.

Feeling that it was enough to dodge now Jian Ya unleashed a counterattack that made Jian Chen change his defensive position.

Attack after attack Jian Ya showed but after a while no one could hit Jian Chen. It was even as if Jian Chen was dodging the attack easily.

Jian Ya had even seriously used his best blank-handed science but no one could touch Jian Chen.

Of course Jian Ya did not use any inner strength when attacking him, it was not difficult to defeat Jian Chen in actual combat. The empty-handed science was not Jian Ya's original skill.

On the other hand, Jian Chen continued to avoid it with the minimum possible movement. Jian Chen might not be able to attack his opponent but dodging for him was not difficult.

“Ran’er I did not expect you would train Chan’er as great as this, he could even avoid the attack of Chairman Ya so easily.” Jian Wu who was watching was extremely astonished and shocked.

Jian Ran smiled faintly, choosing not to answer him. If her husband had known the day she trained Jian Chen, it might have been surprising that now was just the beginning.

Still remembered on the first day Jian Ran taught his son the science of bare hands, every time he showed his technique to his son, Jian Chen could instantly imitate him perfectly in one experiment.

Even so perfect was the technique that Jian Chen imitated, Jian Ran so gained a deeper understanding of bare-handed science.

“Chen’er, you can enter the academy year now.”.

Jian Ya did not have to win in ending this match, after knowing Jian Chen was so talented he decided to accept him as a candidate who would enter the Academy.

Jian Chen smiled happily hearing that, he immediately bowed and thanked him over and over again.

“No need like that, Chen’er.” Jian Ya smiled warmly. “It's fitting that a talented person like you is indeed worthy of the Capital Academy.”

The capital Jian Ya was referring to was Qianshan City which was the Capital of the Lightning Dragon Province. Lightning Dragon Province is one of the 12 provinces of the Dragon Empire in the east..

The Dragon Empire was one of the archipelago-shaped empires, if one were to look at the territory of the Dragon Empire from afar then they would find that the territories of the 12 provinces were like islands that were adjacent and circular to one island in the middle.

There are 12 islands of which each island is a province, such as the Wind Dragon Province, the Land Dragon Province, the Ice Dragon Province, and the other 8 provinces. The place Jian Chen was now in was the Lightning Dragon Province.

There is one island that has a fairly large area in the middle of the 11 islands that surround it. The island was the Fire Dragon Province, the capital of the Dragon Empire.

In his previous life Jian Chen had ventured into various provinces which made him know the world quite widely. The province he lived in today even had an area that was nothing like the other provinces.

Jian Wu and Jian Ran then approached after feeling the match was over. They had already heard that Jian Chen had been accepted and was about to enter the Academy so both of them expressed deep gratitude.

Putting a child into the academy was a pride in his parents, Jian Chen even at the age of 14 years was able to enter it while generally having to be 15 years old.

“No need to hesitate, Aunt Ran, Senior Wu. Chen’er is a gifted child precisely if we limit it here another year makes it not develop necessarily.”

In the Academy one will learn many things and one of them is martial arts. Letting Jian Chen enter faster was the right choice as it could make him more potentially.

“Then Chairman Yes, can you attend the dinner. My wife will cook a nice one as our thanks.” Jian Wu spoke while giving the deepest respect.

“True Chairman Yes, don't you like seafood. I'll cook it for you a lot.” Jian Ran also added.

Jian Ya actually wanted to refuse but seeing the family in front of her so sincere to nurture her it felt so hard to resist.
