"So you're coming, aren't you?" His mother's question made Francoise give up.
"Alright Mom, don't expect much from me. I always told you I'd walk after my heart. And whatever arrangement you make if I don't want to do it, nothing will happen." I reaffirmed him.
"I always expect a lot from you. You still thinking about your beloved Beatrice? I didn't educate you that low." He still railed against Beatrice after all this time, just because I was still under his tutelage I couldn't fight back, but now I'm strong enough to decide what I want myself.
"How my future family doesn't depend on the quality of my wife's property Mom, why don't you let me look for what I want, my standards and the standards you set are different, why do you keep dictating to me as if I were your student."
"I gave you the standard of wanting to see your family succeed. Want to see your name in the future. What part is wrong with all that."
"That living a family if I want it is I'm not you." Francoise had to not be able to tolerate his mother's wishes this time, he no longer wanted to argue what he would do to his mother. "This is the last time I want to go to the dinner you arranged for Mom. Next time there's no more. If you embarrass yourself I don't care."
His mother breathed at his words.
"You should thank me."
"I'm grateful to you. But it didn't get so far."
He knew his mother had been trying hard to guide him and provide assistance for his career until now. But now what he's doing about setting her up is no longer acceptable. He's still sorry about Beatrice and he won't let there be a second Beatrice in his life.
"I'm not gonna let Mom hurt her like Mom did to Beatrice."
"I prepared a good foundation for you. Don't you understand. Even for my grandchildren, for my grandchildren. You just think love. See if your father and Mom's love is enough to last." I laughed at his words.
"Mom, the truth is you don't feel enough about your expectations. If you can't satisfy your expectations doesn't mean you have to put them on me."
"You seem to have been very defensive of your father who ran to Marseilles. She loves quiet life so much, Mom didn't expect you to follow her "Now she's starting to vilify Dad again, I used to think she was right, but after Beatrice's troubles I'm starting to understand Dad's point of view.
"Dad is living well with his family until now, he even has a grandson. His family looks happy in France, and I don't see any shortage of them. They parted ways Mom's career skyrocketed, but that doesn't mean Mom can blame Dad. I never blame Mom, either, it's all a matter of choice."
"Now you're good at talking." I took a long breath.
"Alright, it's up to you Mom. I'm obviously only going to come one last time. If there's another time I won't obey you anymore." Mom looked at me with her own calculations. The president's special staff is amazing.
"Friday 6pm come here. Go I have to meet online with my staff."
"Hour 6pm." This is the last time Francoise has followed suit.
