I woke up when I felt a hand caress over my head. It felt so comfortable that I wanted to go back to sleep. Suddenly that awareness made my life collect instantly. I lifted my cramped head up in my neck and looked at my unconscious mother.
"How's mom feeling now?". I asked for a moment with a hoarse voice.
"Drink first, then wash your face". Reply to mother with a loud voice.
I noticed the curvature of his lips that carved a knotty smile, he really looked very tired. I nodded my head following his orders, not wanting to create a contentious situation even with small things. I rushed to the bathroom at the end of this 5×4-sized room. The stuff that was forgotten was back in my mind when washing my face in a toilet full of luxurious nuances. There is a sink equipped with a wall mirror that is wide enough, then the room is separated with a bathroom and a place to urinate. So the conclusion in this one toilet there are three rooms that are in bulkheads with glass walls that give an opaque effect.
Waw!
Who are these mysterious fathers?
I stepped out to the place where my mother was lying weak. Two medics, one of whom I'm guessing is a doctor standing by and examining several parts of the mother's body. I walked over too.
"How's my mom doing, doc?". I asked the figure of a middle-aged man with a pulse and heart detection device hanging on his shoulder.
"Thankfully the condition is getting better, your mother needs to follow the advice to rest for 3-4 days in this room until the condition is completely recovered and normal again". The doctor was friendly.
I nodded at her explanation and she gave me some medicine that my mother should take three times a day.
"Please note the medicine is spent yes". Say the doctor again while giving me a paper containing a prescription drug.
"Tomorrow I'll come check on your mother again". The doctor continued in a friendly manner and she came out of the room followed by the nurse carrying a series of papers and stationery.
"Mom feel better? Want Vana to get you a drink?". I was sitting where I was before.
"Please, mom's throat feels dry". Mother still said with her voice.
"This, I spent ya". I thrust a cup of clear water that I took from the refrigerator side dispenser in this room.
"Mom, why don't you tell Vana that you're sick?". I asked now after storing the glass I had thrust on him.
"It's not a serious illness, son, after all it's just because the mother lacks rest". Mom answered while grabbing my hand.
"You don't have to worry, I'm good". Further again.
I let out a huff of frustration at the answer my mother gave me. I know exactly what makes it this way. I looked at my mother with a sincere smile and she raised both her hands hinting me to hug her. And I was swept away in the warmth of his embrace.
"Mom, the hospital nurse said that the mother was delivered by middle-aged fathers and she left a paper for the mother". My light now while reaching into my jeans bag.
I gave the paper to my mother, and she opened it.
Mom's eyes suddenly glazed over after reading the short handwriting. I scrunched my forehead and asked why she looked sad and only answered with her head.
The mood was silent again. Mother seemed to think of something, and I did not dare to disturb her.
Geck! Geck!
The sound of knocking on the door was accompanied by an officer who emerged from behind the entrance with a tray filled with food on his hands.
"Good night, sorry to interrupt. I'm delivering some food for you to enjoy". Said the officer while placing his tray on the table next to the door.
"ah! Thanks, sorry for the trouble". Greet me and walk towards him while helping him move the food he was carrying on the table.
After the employee passed, I brought this food to my mother and fed her. We ate dinner together in silence. Every now and then mom asked about my days at school and then we went back into silence.
I wanted to talk about the mysterious fathers, and why he wrote such things to his mother. But my little heart seemed to hold back from saying that question again.
After dinner, I gave the mother some of the drugs that the doctor had prescribed. Mom immediately drank it and after that she leaned back on the bed and then I was busy cleaning our former dinner plates in the kitchen sink that was available.
After cleaning up, I sat back in my mother's bedside chair and peeled the oranges brought along with the food.
"Vana, is Dad connected to you?". Ask mom now open our conversation.
I shook my head in response to the mother's question with fingers still busy peeling this fresh orange.
"Bright...".
That heavy breath sounded extremely painful from the mother's voice.
"Mom, Vana will still accompany mom". My words now look into my mother's eyes deeply.
A speck of tears that had been held in his eye patch finally dripped as well. I immediately wiped the tears and immediately hugged her body that felt thinner.
"In difficult circumstances vana tau, sometimes the mother hides everything to look strong, but from now on the mother must share the difficulty also with the vana. Whatever it is, because we're both strong women. And from now on Vana will be a filial child for mother". Obviously I was interspersed with sobs that finally broke to see mother's tears.
We also hug each other and vaporize all the grievances that have been hidden all this time. Mom even said that she and dad will get divorced in the near future. In addition to all that, we also strengthened each other, erasing into the piluan that dripped from each other's eyes.
Until finally mother fell asleep, and I was left with an empty heart but the brain was filled with questions that never had an answer.
