CHAPTER 86 THRESHOLD DEFEAT PART 2

            Secret cameras are installed near forests and beaches, it shows how Sarayu was finally caught by Knight Five and First and Seventh who eventually lost their lives were killed by a deadly blow from Knight One.

            “Heart rate First has stopped beating.”

            “Seventh heart rate has stopped beating.”

            Ethan hears the operator's remarks under Forth reporting the deaths of two more of his colleagues. Now all that's left is himself, Forth, Ninth and Savior. Ethan knows clearly the ending that awaits his comrades.

            “In the end what I saw kept happening. .” Ethan lowered his head trying to hold back the cries of losing his comrades. “Taking a peek at the future feels so stifling. .”

            Forth, who had always been in his chair and rarely moved while on duty, suddenly got up from his seat and approached Ethan with a smile on his face.

            “Mr. . .our death will not be in vain, if that is the price to be paid to get peace.”

            Ethan thinks of his comrades who have lost their lives: First, Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth. Their faces pop up one by one in Ethan's mind and twist back to their first meeting.

            “I'm sorry, Forth. It should be. . I take you until that peace is truly realized and hope you all face your death the way you want: to die in a warm bed, he said, die in the midst of the happy family you have and die peacefully and with a smile on your face. I wish you guys would get that, but in fact. . .the death that comes to you is really beyond my shadow.”

            “The victories we have received over this time are thanks to Tuan. If it wasn't for Master, we might have all lost our lives long before this day came, Sir. Thanks to Mr. . .we who lost a family because of this war, feel the feeling of having a family again. We all live together, helping each other and protecting each other. We've got what we want, Mr.”

            Ethan, who had lowered his head trying to hold back his cries, was now staring at Forth who was already in front of him. Forth gives the best smile he has ever made and pays his respects to Ethan representing his dead comrades to thank Ethan for trying so hard to protect himself and his comradeshis partner.

            Ethan's tears fall to see how Forth represents his comrades who have lost their lives as if making a last salute to him. “Why did you do i-“

            Buk.

            “What are you doing, Forth?” dylan shouted in surprise to see Forth slam his punch into Ethan's back nape and make Ethan lose consciousness.

            Forth instantly captures Ethan's collapsed body and looks at the monitor where Knight One starts walking towards the base. “I'm sorry, Mr. Dylan. But. . . Mr. Ethan and Sarayu are our only hope for peace. They both have to stay alive to realize what Mr. Ethan once saw when peeking into the future.”

            “You. . You want us to hide and make you with Ninth face Knight One alone???”

            Forth nodded his head. “That's what we have to do, sir. Didn't after our death come, our stone fragments will fuse with Sarayu's stone shards, Sir?”

            Dylan was shocked to hear Forth's words.

            “I spoke with Ninth earlier, Sir and we both agreed to stay and hide Mr. along with Mr. Ethan and Winner. Immediately after our death. . Our stone fragments will fuse with other fragments that have been fused before with Sarayu's. That way Sarayu who is now dying, she can turn this situation around and save the world. That way. . .our death is not in vain.”

            “You've made up your mind apparently, Forth,” said Dylan seeing a smile on Forth's lips.

            “I'm sorry, but I am already determined.”

            Forth then asks some of his operators to take Ethan and Dylan's bodies to the bunker where Winner is.

            “Mr Dylan. . Can you say this when Mr. Ethan wakes up later.” Forth stared at Ethan who was still unconscious.

            “What is it?”

            “Sorry for hitting him earlier.”

            Dylan smiled slightly with pushy eyes. “I'll definitely deliver, Forth. Instead. . . I want to ask you something.”

            “If there is little chance of life for you and Ninth, choose to survive. Ethan and I won't blame you if you run to save your lives.”

            “I'll try to think about it, Mr. Dylan. Goodbye to.”

            Forth shuts down the bunker that locked Dylan, Ethan and Winner inside and returns to the command room to lead the entire army and guide Ninth to guard their base. Forth struggled to keep their base, but the defenses were destroyed by missiles fired by enemy planes coming from the sea. In the vanguard of Ninth guarding the base's defenses, it lost its life when Knight One found it.

            “Confirm to you, Forth!”

            That was Ninth's last sentence before losing his life while facing one of the still-connected cameras.

            “Yes, Ninth. After this. . . we will meet with our other colleagues.”

            Knight One continued to pierce through every single defense before him. The tough metal that protected every room was unable to withstand that terrifying Knight One blow. In a matter of 10 minutes, Knight One arrived at the command room where Forth along with all his operators were.            

            “As your superiors all this time, I thank you for your efforts so far. If you want to save yourself, please exit this room through the emergency exit. But if you guys want to stay here with me, then we will happily fight together.”

            Bruk. .. bruk. . amid the efforts of Knight One who attempted to open the door of the command room with his deadly blow, the, Forth gives a choice to all his men who have worked hard together with him. Forth as a member of the World Peace Forces has a duty to protect the people including his current men. Just as Dylan had asked him to think of saving himself, Forth gave the same choice to all of his men who had been working with him for some time.

            “We will stay here together with Mr.” All the Forth operators rose from their seats and made a line in front of the command room door that started to dent due to Knight One's punch.

            Forth sees the loyalty given by his men and in an instant feels what Ethan had felt for himself and his comrades who had died while on duty.

            “Thank you very much for your loyalty.” Forth pays his respects to all his men who stand to form a fence and try to protect him. With a gun in hand, Forth's men stood up fearlessly though.

            Brukk. . . the last powerful blow then managed to open the door of the command room and simultaneously all of Forth's men fired bullets inside their pistols at Knight One.

            “You useless insects!!” Knight One struck where he was standing and made a great shake inside the command room.

            Dar. . . dar. .. dar. . The screeching sound of gunfire, echoed in the command room mixed with thick smoke and a pungent smell of gunpowder. A few bullets might hit Knight One but by using the broken command room door section, Knight One managed to fortify his body from the hundreds of bullets coming towards him. As soon as all the bullets ran out, Knight One swung the door in his hand and left half of the Forth operator dead instantly. Not stopping there alone, Knight One moved quickly hit one by one Forth operator and finally had to face one by one with Forth.

            “Where is Ethan?” Knight One who had given a dozen blows to Forth, gripped the collar of Forth's clothes and asked about Ethan's whereabouts to Forth.

            On the verge of his death, Forth smiled as he spat out blood mixed with his saliva towards Knight One. “You won't find Mr. Ethan, Knight One. While you're coming in here and ransacking this base, we're sending Mr. Ethan out. You lost, Knight One. You will never win from Mr. Ethan as you wish.”

            Hearing the words from Forth, Knight One lost his temper. Knight One threw Forth's already weak body towards the wall tightly. Bruakk. . Forth's body hit the wall tight.

            Hueekk. Forth spewed out his blood again because the collision might have injured his internal organs. With eyes that began to faintly see, Forth looked towards Knight One who was running towards him by clenching his hands with all his might. A smile appeared on Forth's lips.

            “If there is little chance of life for you and Ninth, choose to survive. Ethan and I won't blame you if you run to save your lives.”

            As his death was coming, Forth recalled Dylan's words asking him to think of himself and his own life once.

            “I'm sorry, Mr. Dylan. I prefer to go together with my colleagues rather than live alone.”

            Five seconds before Knight One's punch hit him, Forth saw the faces of his comrades who had left first. They stretched out their hands to Forth as if to take Forth to a beautiful and peaceful place. With a happy smile on his face, they welcomed Forth's arrival.

Kolkkk. . . The supposedly painful blow was not painful as Forth received a helping hand from his comrades and felt the warmth of his comrades pass through their hands and spread all over his body .
