CHAPTER 145
Melani was wearing a red dress covered in the black robe of a Magician Master. She looked beautiful, like a queen, and her eyes flashed when she saw me, then widened as her gaze fell upon me and looked at Devan and Bella.
“ What is this?” Melani asked in her sweet voice, which remained audible until the back of the balcony.
“ You know what this is, Melani,” I said in a low voice. Then, while turning my gaze towards Riana, I said gently, “ I'm sorry.”
Then, I turned to face the nobles of Thorvaldor and shouted, “ You guys have been tricked! You've been betrayed by one of you.”
I heard a rustling sound behind me, and then the queen exclaimed, “ Nal—Amelia Muller. What is the meaning and all this?”
As I turned to look at her, I felt my heart beating painfully. Whatever Melani said, no matter how the queen let those people treat me badly, she was once my mother, once. “ You are tricked,” I repeat it in a softer voice. “ We're all fooled. By Melani Enderson.”

The queen closed her lips until she formed a straight, stiff line. “ What did he do it for? Melani has always been loyal to our family, one of our best advisers. Why did he do all that?”
