That afternoon, Mrs Brenda came home with a sour face. He immediately threw his body on the sofa in the living room of his house, then threw his handbag just like that.
"Mama why?" griselle asked while slightly linking her two eyebrows together. The girl sat down next to her mother.
"Mama's really upset" grumbled Mrs Brenda.
"Yes, without Mama saying anything, I knew that Mama was upset. But what makes you upset?" ask Griselle again.
"Zitta. When Mama was shopping, she met the woman at the boutique. He came with his two pet men at once and ganged up on Mama there."
"How does that mean, Ma?" Griselle seemed to not understand. All this time, what he remembered was his mother who always bullied Zetta, not the other way around.
"They did the wrong thing to Mama. One of her pet men even pushed Mama until she fell on the floor. Look at this, Mama's knee hurts like this," said Mrs Brenda while showing her two knees that are a bit reddish.
Griselle looked rather bought her eyes seeing that.
"So Mama is quiet? Isn't it usual that Mama never lost to that woman? Didn't Mama try to fight back or retaliate?" griselle asked again with a tone of speech that rose an octave compared to before. It seems he didn't accept knowing his mother was treated that way.
"How Mama wants to retaliate, there are two mistresses who are trying to protect the woman. He seems to be very proud of being now mobbed by more than one man and being big-headed. His behavior was really cheap. You girls have no shame" said Mrs Brenda upset.
Keenan and Helia who just came down from the top floor listened to the chatter of Mrs Brenda. They looked at each other for a moment, then approached the middle-aged woman.
"What's up, Ma?" ask Keenan.
Lady Brenda sneered at Keenan, then snorted in annoyance, just like a child sulking because something made her feel unhappy.
"That damn woman is getting less and less brash. Maybe he could gang up on Mama in front of the crowd" he said then with a sniffle.
Keenan sighed. Unnamed, he knew that his mother meant Zetta, his ex-wife. However, he also knew that Zetta was not the type of person who would provoke people first.
"What did Zetta do to Mama?" keenan asked in response to the mother's complaint.
Mrs Brenda also recounted the unfortunate incident she experienced at the clothing store earlier, of course with a somewhat exaggerated to sound dramatic. It was also that he used his own point of view without considering how Zetta felt when getting insults and taunts from him first.
Again Keenan sighed. He had guessed that his first mother was harassing Zetta.
"Stop bothering Zetta, Ma. You're divorced and you don't have any relationship anymore, so it's better that Mama doesn't bother her so that no such commotion needs to happen" Keenan said later.
"Why do you blame Mama?" ask Mrs Brenda not happy. He thought that his son was supposed to defend himself, instead of defending his ex-wife.
"I'm not blaming Mama, but it's good that you don't have to provoke Zetta like that again if you happen to meet out there" Keenan said.
"The facts are like that, right? While still living here first also he never acted rudely to Mama, even though Mama often oppress him," said Keenan again.
It was clear that Mrs Brenda's eyes were angry. He was so angry to hear Keenan corner him. Keenan is not going to defend Zetta. He just said according to what he had always seen during these six years. In fact, the mama often oppresses Zetta, and not once does Zetta try to fight back, let alone retaliate.
Helia directly mediated Keenan and Lady Brenda. Actually he also felt unhappy to hear Keenan defend Zetta to the extent. But Helia knew, now was not the time to show her dislike.
"Ma, actually now Keenan and I want to go visit Grandma. I heard that Grandma was sick and just got out of the hospital," Helia said then switched the conversation. Now she had called Madam Brenda with the mama call just like the middle-aged woman wanted.
"You want to visit Grandma?" repeat Mrs Brenda. The look on his face turned a little soft.
Helia. It can be seen if his hand is currently carrying something that seems to be a hand for his grandmother Keenan.
Mrs Brenda ended her anger and invited Helia and Keenan to visit her grandmother. The drama of the afternoon was finally resolved on its own after Keenan and Helia left for Amy's Grandmother's residence.
After a while, Keenan arrived at the grandmother's residence. He took Helia's hand into the house. In my heart there was a rush of anxiety in Keenan's heart to bring Helia here. Her grandmother was still very foreign to her lover, so did not know whether Helia would be well received or not. After all, for Grandma Amy, only Zetta is considered the best woman on earth, no woman can match her, including Helia of course.
"Grandmother, this is Helia." Keenan introduced her lover to Amy's grandmother.
Grandma Amy's reaction was normal. He neither welcomed Helia nor invited her to speak, nor did he greet Helia with a friendly greeting.
"Sir, here I bring a herb from the essence of plants that are good to help Grandma's body recovery. I prepared it myself specifically for Grandma," Helia said then while putting something on the living room table, right in front of Grandma Amy.
Amy's grandmother took a quick glance at the package that Helia had given her, then turned to look at the girl sharply.
"You're so nice, Miss. But I'm sorry, I didn't dare drink something given by a stranger" said Amy's grandmother coldly.
Helia froze to hear the old woman's answer, while Keenan seemed to buy her eyes displeased.
"Mom, what did Grandma say? Helia is not a stranger, she is my future wife" Keenan said.
"Your wife-to-be?" asked Grandma Amy in a still cold tone.
"True, Helia and I are getting married soon. I know that Grandma must be a bit surprised because she has not been too familiar with Helia and does not know what kind of figure Helia is. But, right, it's not supposed to make Helia feel bad like this" Keenan said defending Helia.
Amy's grandmother was seen smiling at her granddaughter, but her smile seemed filled with scorn.
"You look like a man full of affection, don't you, Keenan? But why haven't you ever shown that little bit of attention to your wife over the past six years? You speak as if you have a heart. If it is, why are you even pushing my granddaughter-in-law away, like a heartless person!" Amy's grandmother spoke sharply and also sarcastically, making Keenan gasp to hear it.
