The Elemental Sword Demon King

The Elemental Sword Demon King
Episode 118: The Determination of a Brother

POV: The Victoria Blade

Victoria stood under the shadow of the hall leading to the garden. He had found Kaizo talking to the dark spirit girl while searching for her.

The dark spirit girl was dangerous and she immediately called out to Salamander, but she stopped attacking when she saw Kaizo talking to her.

They were like lovers who had been separated for a long time. Like that, Victoria was passing the time to get out. He could not hear the contents of their conversation well from the hallway.

If he wanted to, he might be able to listen, but knowing about Kaizo's past not wanting to discuss it this way, it felt like he was doing something cheating.

Thinking like that, he ended up just watching and finally he also saw the two kissing.

"Ah," a soft voice came out from her lips in her tears that fell to the ground.

(No way, why are these tears coming out?)

He wiped his eyes with his uniform sleeves, and muttered in his heart, (Why, why am I.).

(Why this, my chest hurts. And also, Kaizo does not hate him, he does not fight at all.)

The tears that were overflowing did not stop. Victoria ran away from that place and ran down the hallway.

POV: Mia Vialine

_____________________________________

The underground caves of the floating island of Wind Palace within the sacred ground. A place that no one should enter except the daughter of the Divine Ritual Obsession maiden.

Right now, there were two sets of footsteps that resounded there. One belonged to the orphan from the Instructional School, Lina Flame. He read the report for his master in front of him.

"Mia Vialine loses the Death Gun in battle. The military executive of the country will be furious."

"Let them. They're just a bunch of grandparents just thinking about how to protect themselves."

The listening party said it in a merciless tone. The girl with long black hair who fell to her waist. Wearing a black coat with a deep red mask that looked like a ferocious god covered his face.

Lina was not at all surprised by her master's reply. Their supposed ally, the Alphen Territory, was just another tool for him to achieve his goals quickly.

"But Cardinal, supply of military spirits from now on..."

"Lina, I've taught you not to use that name here, right?"

"I'm sorry, Miss Rei Assar." Lina shivered at the cold voice of her master.

Footsteps echoed throughout the silent underground cavern. The spirit stones they carried were reflected from the strange carvings on the walls.

It was a mystery why the passageway in the underground cave that was even forbidden by the daughters of Divine Ritual Obsession girls, this was known to the two. Perhaps high-ranking princess girls as well as those close to the Queen could enter without permission was strange.

"It looks like Alicia has contacted him," said the crimson masked girl claiming to be Rei Assar.

"Yes. He ignored your orders and..."

"The spirit of darkness is not subordinate, but equal in organization. He has no obligation to listen to me."

"Yes." Yeah." Lina bit her lips, dissatisfied. It frustrated him because of the pieces gathered to help his master move on his own.

The people who had sworn an oath to the Cardinal and to Rei Assar, consisted of Lina only. His orphaned fellow from the Instructional School thought of nothing but Kirigaya Kaizo and he had no idea what the dark spirit girl was thinking.

"I'll see him tonight too."

"Are you going to the dance?" Lina asked in a slightly incredulous voice.

"Rei Assar was the previous winner of the Sword Style Festival. There's no way she's not present."

"But preparation for what to wear..."

"I have at least one dress. Even though I left most of it to my little sister."

"You have a sister?"

There's no answer to that question. Thinking she had let down her master, Lina quickly changed the topic, "Mia reported that she doesn't seem to be awake yet."

"We don't have much time to wait for him. If he could not hold it in, then that was his value as the successor of the Demon King. We just need to change the plan."

"That's not gonna work. It was Mia's job to wake up sister" said a voice from within the darkness behind them. The one who appeared was the girl with gray hair, Mia Vialine.

"Mia, what are you doing!?" Lina raised a sharp voice.

"I'm just messing around a little with the naughty princess who ruined big brother."

"Act yourself! You used another military spirit without permission."

"It's not something that matters. Only use the special military spirit Sycte. Though too weak and dead. I wonder if I can use a better spirit next time."

To Mia who was puffing her cheeks, Lina responded by holding her head with her hands.

Even if it was Sycte, who was not a pure war-class spirit, it was still part of the military might of the Alphen Territory. Those military executives wouldn't be happy if they heard about this.

"Hmph, we've been acting quite tame."

"That's because you ignored the orders and lost the Death Gun."

"I just want to play with my brother." Mia pouted her lips.

"Anyway, be nice until the actual Sword Style Festival begins. Don't touch it until you receive the order."

"Governance?" Mia tilted her head in wonder. And the light in his eyes disappeared.

"Hey, Lina, who will rule Mia?"

Shivering, cold sweat ran down Lina's back. His entire body became cold with fear. It felt like someone was holding his heart in their hands.

"Hey, tell me..." The spirit seal on Mia's right hand gave off an ominous light.

"Mia Vialine." Rei Assar called out to him.

"Yes?"

"You're equal to me in the organization. No one will rule you."

Mia laughed with a smile, "it's okay if you understand. The only one who can order Mia is big sister."

With Mia's mood recovering, Lina heaved a sigh of relief.

"But it's disturbing. I can't play with a rogue princess without a military spirit."

"Then why not try using this, 'Queen'." Rei Assar took off his ring and threw it at Mia.

"This is?"

Mia looked at the ring with curiosity. It was a plain silver ring. The thin character of the spirit language was engraved on its outer edge.

"Spirit of annihilation, Tiamat. A spirit weapon created to fight against the armies of the former shadow Elemental Lord. It was customized by belonging to the Divine Ritual Obsession. It can hold Trick"s Murder well."

"You gave this to Mia?"

"Use as you please."

"I don't really understand why. Well, it's okay, I'll take it."

"Mia, military spirits aren't toys!"

"They are toys, at least for Mia." She shrugged her shoulders at Lina and licked the ring that now adorned her middle finger.

"Live a little more, brother. Mia will get rid of that nosy naughty princess." While walking through the dark underground cavern, Mia smiled to herself.

When she was taken to Instructional School, she was only four years old. Born in a cold village on the Empire's border, he was not of noble blood but had the ability to contract spirits.

The villagers rejoiced at having given birth to an elementalist and raised him dearly. And then they brought him before the spirit of the village guard on his fourth birthday.

They wanted Mia to make a contract with the guardian spirit so that the village would prosper. But when he made the contract, the guardian spirit went wild.

The fire that had been protecting the village now burned it and the spirit also destroyed itself. Mia's power, she has an incredible ability to drive spirits crazy.

After being dumped by her village, she is picked up by an instructional school. There, he became a monster. His heart was gone, the Cursed Armament Seal was engraved on his young body and he was taught nothing but slaughter techniques.

Due to her innate ability, Mia could never connect with a contracted spirit. The days that were only filled with isolation and slaughter slowly carved out his heart.

In the middle of the day, he met a boy who was taken to the facility.

"You're always alone, yeah."

"That's right. Mia was always alone. The only ones Mia wants to talk to are the ones Mia killed."

"Then I'll be your friend."

"Hmph, that's stupid. Speaking of friends in this place."

"Then the brother. Mia is my sister."

"What do you decide for yourself, you idiot."

His first conversation with him. It was something he definitely did not remember.

"Sister is Mia's only possession."

When he emerged from the underground cave, the sun had mostly set. It is time for the Sword Style Festival ceremony to begin in the castle.

"That's why I won't forgive them. I will definitely get it, and get rid of those who attach themselves to big brother."
