Bebegigs
Chapter 78's

The air that night was hot and humid. The tree frogs groaned nonstop in the trees. Somewhere away from the forest, a dog howled sadly, waited for an answer, then howled again.

"Ughhh!" Orange swatting a mosquito.

Yasa looked up at the trees, still deserted, a single photo.

They stepped further into the forest towards the lake, the flashlight of the orange cell phone illuminating the narrow, grassy path before them.

"I'm as if you're coming along" Yasa said half-temptingly. He pulled out a handful of tall grass that blocked his path.

"That's because I feel safer in your deck" grunts Orange.

Yasa smiled faintly in response. Whether Orange noticed it or not, but his words made Yasa feel a little flattered. Though impressed by judes.

The dim moonlight pierced through the dense trees. Its silvery flickering makes the forest look unreal, like a place in a spooky fairy tale.

The atmosphere was very quiet, Orange could hear every breath.

All of a sudden the tree frogs stopped screeching. Now the only other sound that was heard was the rustling of their shoes scratched on the soft ground, along the way the two passed through the winding path in the forest.

Fear ambushed the orange instantly, as if sneaking from behind and pouncing on it. He stopped and tried to hit it. But his whole body was trembling. His feet were as soft as paper. His head is pulsing.

What the hell is going on with me? he wonders. Perhaps this is because he had heard the story of the lake at the end of the forest, where many terrible and mysterious events occurred.

Probably because he was close to the lake where he almost drowned a few nights ago.

Perhaps the spirit of Aruna was trying to dissuade them with its invisible negative energy, to prevent them from approaching the lake, lest Yasa find what she was looking for.

Yasa stopped a step behind him. Waiting for Orange to continue its steps. But don't say anything.

I had to keep going, thought Jingga. la pointing her flashlight towards the path and started to step again, forcing her legs forward, forcing herself to ignore her trembling body and her throbbing head.

Soon they saw the lake. It looked gray under the dark sky. The water hit the edge of the muddy lake, almost without sound.

After feeling a little relieved to be free from the forest, the orange began to run across the tall grass towards the water.

Yasa smiled faintly behind him.

The lake seemed bigger than usual, so vast, both sides vanished into the darkness.

Rows of coffee shops across the lake, only a shadow protruding in the distance.

Orange took a deep breath.

What are you keeping from me, lake?

Why do I always dream of you?

Why do I always come to you in my sleep?

Why did Aruna's ghost bring me to you?

What terrible secret are you hiding from me?

The orange sits on the edge of a small wooden pier that extends a few meters into the water. His fear had already disappeared, yet his body had yet to stop trembling.

The water below was so beautiful, so soothing.he almost took off his rubber boots and put his feet into the water when he heard footsteps on the grass behind him.

He hoped to see Yasa not far behind him.

Turns out he's alone.

Where is Yasa? think Orange panics.

"Sa—" Orange Voice is just a whisper. His body seemed to freeze. He breathes with difficulty. Next to his shoe came off, the other side still stuck to his feet. While trying to put back on his loose shoes he looked at the darkness.

"Sa! Where are you?" His shoelaces were still knotted, so he could not put his feet in. And his hands were so trembling that he could not break the knot.

The orange jumps down from the dock, carries his shoes next door, and searches for Yasa.

There was a sump of shrub several tens of meters from the edge of the lake. He heard the sound of a twig cracking. Footsteps on loose ground.

"Sa?" calling out to him in a strange voice, his throat was suffocated by fear.

The sound of steps again, getting louder. Then…

"So here's your native habitat?" shout a sound.

Too late to run.

"In the swamp?" The voice sounded familiar in his ears.

The heart of the orange is beating fast. He lifted his shoes, as if using them as weapons.

Suddenly the man appeared, stepping out of the darkness towards the silvery moonlight.

"Vi—"

"Why are you here?"

"Because you're here!"

"Where would I have been here?"

"From your uler nature!"

Orange frowned.

Just a few seconds ago Orange was excited to see Violet. But when he saw the jacket Violet was wearing, Orange suddenly flinched.

The jacket was given to him a while ago. Why would his jacket be on Violet again?

Orange imagined Violet who was lying in the hospital, her arm wearing a cast, full of slang. A wound to his stomach.

Then the words of Yasa…

"You can, you better get away from him!"

Now I understand, he thought.

He's not Violet!

Violet is possessed like Yasa.

The fear within him reappeared. The orange is trembling again. Dizziness.

Finally, Jingga decided to cover her fear with anger.

He won't let Violet know that he's scared.

"How can you heal a piece of this?" ask Orange.

Violet smiled cynically. "Why? You're disappointed I didn't go into a coma?"

The coma? think Orange is confused. "Gue—"

"Lu's afraid, aren't you, your secrets are exposed?" cut Violet.

A secret? The orange is getting confused.

"What secret?"

"Unfortunately the cave just fainted how many days!" sergeant Violet. "No memory loss."

Fainted?

Memory loss?

The orange is getting clueless.

"You mean what?"

"Stop the saintly pretentious in front of me!" Violet growled as she snatched away the collar of the orange jacket. "You called my bokin, attempted murder. Still want to deny what?"

Attempted assassinations?

Orange jerks and turns.

"Lu definitely didn't expect, could I just smell a piece of this? You must be at a minimum even though I'm living my memory loss, right?" Violet tightened her grip, pulling the orange face closer to her face. Then smile wickedly. "Ck, tsk, tsk, kasian…"

"Vi--regardless!" The orange squealed with a suffocating sound.

Clutching the collar of her jacket, Violet pushed the orange towards the lake.

The orange thrashed trying to escape, but Violet's grip was like a tang.

Violet dropped the Orange from the small pier into the lake, then bent down, snatched the head and neck of the Orange, then pushed the Orange face into the water.

The orange rebelled, trying to stay on the surface of the water, trying to breathe air. "Yasa! Please…"

"How does it feel to be between life and death?" violet asked very calmly, too calmly.

"Yasa!" orange Jerrits.

Yasa did not answer.

Where did that guy go?

Did something happen? thought Orange was getting panicked.

Violet pushed her head back into the water and held it there.

"Sa—" the voice of the orange was stirring in the water.
