Love is Unrequited

"Is this love?" Lucia asked back to bow her head.

For a moment Lucia tried to feel what was in her heart. He wanted to see Legolas constantly, but remembering Legolas's rejection of him wanting to stay back with the young man made him want to cry.

Without him noticing, tears came out of his eyes and it was the first time he cried after a long time that he did not cry.

"Ced, suddenly I can't hold back my tears." Lucia looked at Cedric.

Cedric immediately stopped his car to the edge and looked at Lucia. He was convinced that the girl actually loved Legolas.

"I became like this when I remembered what Olas had said. What's wrong with me, Ced?" Lucia asked trying to wipe away her tears even though her tears were still flowing from her eyes.

Cedric was only speechless to see Lucia, himself becoming sad because the girl he loved loved another young man. But with an unbearable feeling when he saw Lucia in tears, Cedric pulled Lucia in his arms.

"What is this thing called love, Ced? Why don't I feel good when I feel it?" Lucia asked who was in Cedric's arms. "Why does it feel painful? If it's like this I don't want to feel it."

"That's because your love is unrequited, Cia, because it feels painful." Replied Cedric who wiped the corner of his teary eyes because of the tears he held back. "This is one of the worst things about loving someone. You will also feel pain at the same time as you love her. It happens when your love claps one hand."

In a different place, Legolas drives Chloe home in a new car he got today as a work facility. He stopped his car when he reached the end of the alley of Chloe's house.

"I'm sorry, Chloe." Legolas.

"Sorry for what?" Chloe asked back so Legolas turned to her. "What are you apologizing for, Olas?"

"Everything." Answer Legolas.

"Everything?" Chloe asked again. "Can you mention it? Because I don't think there's anything that makes you apologize to me."

"I'm sorry that Lucia suddenly came and she just hugged me without me expecting it. He also said he wanted to stay with me again." Legolas did not stare at Chloe, while the girl kept staring at her. "I'm sorry because it seems like what happened is confusing you."

"Twool..." Call Chloe. "Do you really love me?"

Legolas looked at Chloe hearing the girl's question. To him, the question Chloe just asked was very strange. It was very clear with the answer. He had been in love with that girl for a long time. He had also said about it before but now why did Chloe ask again? Was he in doubt because of Lucia's presence?

"Olas, you better think again."

"What does that mean, Chloe?" Look at Legolas in surprise at Chloe. "What should I think about again? Ever since I loved you, I also wanted to marry you. Then what else is less clear than that?"

"You mean I'm lying, right?" The tiredness of the young man today makes him easily ignited emotions. Legolas is now out of thought because of Chloe's accusations against him. "Do you think I didn't mean it to say I was—"

"It's not like that, Olas. I didn't say you were lying." Cut Chloe trying to explain. "I mean maybe your feelings for me have changed."

"What do you mean?" Legolas looks impatient to hear the words Chloe who had thought. "My feelings haven't changed."

"Then it means your love for me has been replaced..."

"Say everything, Chloe. Your words confuse me."

"It seems you love Lucia now. When Lucia left and didn't live with you you became different, and when Lucia left you kept daydreaming even to the point that you didn't listen to all the words I said to you."

Legolas pulls his gaze from Chloe. He tried to think something. The young man felt that what Chloe said was wrong because he felt that there was nothing different after Lucia did not live with him. And regarding her dreamy self after Lucia left her house, it was because she became worried about the girl whose eyeball color had already looked different, and if it takes longer to change it means Lucifer's time coming into the human world is getting closer. But he can't tell Chloe all that.

Legolas who looks dreamy now makes Chloe feel more confident in her words.

"Olas, it seems you have to ask yourself the truth." Chloe held Legolas's arm.

"Chloe, you're wrong, I love you not Lucia." Legolas replied, looking at Chloe. "So I don't have to ask myself anything."

Chloe pulled out her hand that was holding Legolas' arm. He no longer knew what to say. Although the girl actually loved Legolas as well, she did not want to force her love if the young man she loved did not love her anymore. He does not want to be with someone who does not love him because it will only make him continue to grieve.

"Alright Olas, I'm going down." Chloe said to get out of the car.

But suddenly Legolas held the girl's hand and stared at her fixedly.

"Do you doubt me? Aren't you sure I love you? Is that why you haven't answered my invitation to get married? Don't you believe me?" Ask Legolas.

"You know Olas? When I was with you, even though you saw me, but I didn't see my reflection in your eyes. Your gaze is always staring whether you think of what. I know there's no me in your mind even though I'm in front of you." Chloe said with a flooded eye. "That's really painful for me because anyway I've liked you for a long time and wish we were together. But once we're together it seems your love for me has been replaced. I know that you keep thinking about Lucia. You look very worried about that girl. He's always on your mind even when we're together. Maybe you don't feel it and can't realize it but surely anyone near you will know about your hidden feelings for Lucia."

Legolas could only be speechless listening to all of Chloe's words spoken with tears streaming down her face. He's still trying to convince her that Chloe's words aren't true. He did not want to admit that he was worried about Lucia because of his love for the demon girl.

"You better think about it, Olas. I don't care if it turns out you love Lucia." Chloe wiped her tears and looked at Legolas with a smile. "It would be more painful for me to be with someone who doesn't really love me."
