36. Can It Always Be Like This?

“Who are you?”

The first sentence that Ruona asked the tall figure who was the same age as Gideon.

The man did not answer Ruona's question. The man calmly pulled out a chair and sat there.

His calm demeanor and elegant demeanor revealed him as a powerful and high-ranking person.

“Why are you so nervous? Don't worry I won't hurt you. Sit.” The man smiled amiably but the last sentence of his words was terrifying.

Ruona's heart skipped a beat. He sat in front of the man carefully. In a stifling silence, Ruona was filled with tension.

“Who are you?”

The man snorted seemingly dissatisfied with his impatience.

“Why be in a hurry?”

The man pulled the cup in front of him and sipped it elegantly.

“Are you the sender of the letter?”

“You should call me brother.”

The sister?

Ruona frowned and thought. Digging out the information yourself.

Kevin's?

Yeah, Kevin's an adopted grandson. Simon Cross named Kevin as his grandson. At that time Gideon was studying abroad so Simon Cross felt alone.

On his way home from his office, he accidentally meets little Kevin who is sitting on the sidewalk.

Simon Cross felt pity and remembered Gideon so he decided to take Kevin to be his adopted grandson.

As an adult, Gideon returned to his studies. Kevin is separated. Kevin who is used to being number one now feels numbered duakan because of the presence of Gideon.

Moreover, he no longer lived in the main residence of the Cross family home.

Ruona pondered for a moment before hesitatingly saying her name.

“Kevin?”

Prangs. Coffee cups broke on the floor. The man's face changed. His eagle eyes pierced towards Ruona.

“You dare call me by my name only?”

“I'm sorry. I was wrong, brother. Please forgive me.”

Ruona directly lowered her head. He heard that Kevin was a cruel character.

“What does sister mean?” ruona's face paled as she raised her eyes to look at Kevin.

“Have you seen the previous document? Do you really think you can keep it a secret?”

“Sister, what does sister know?”

“I know that your mother is a liquor seller. When you were born, your mother left you in an empty house. Then you were adopted by a couple who were quite rich but unfortunately they died in a car accident and you were sent to an orphanage.

When Liana was sent to the orphanage, you stole her necklace. At first you want to sell it but unexpectedly Simon searches for the granddaughter of his long lost friend and mistakenly takes you.

Realizing that Liana is the granddaughter that Simon's grandfather is looking for you told Johan to hire a criminal to eliminate Liana and her child.”

Suddenly Kevin smiled sinisterly and stared coldly at Ruona's stomach.

“The child in your stomach right now should belong to Johan.”

Ruona's face was completely pale as every word Kevin spoke was the truth. But Ruona didn't think how Kevin knew. Ruona had always been very careful in all her actions.

Why would he know? Did the doctor say it? Or Johan?

Ruona frowned. He suspects everyone close to him.

“How can you know?”

“Are you so stupid? The Cross family isn't as simple as you think. Grandpa, it's old so he can't see what's right and wrong.”

“I've omitted all reports and identities in my past. How can it..”.

“Do you not know, that grandfather has done twice the test on you.”

“What? How could grandpa do that?”

“A fraud like you must have been comfortable calling him grandpa.”

The look on Ruona's face changed immediately. “If grandfather has the results of previous tests, why did he repeat them again? He should have dumped me then and there.”

“Where do you think the second test result came from?”

“Cannot be. Did you do it?”

Kevin faked Ruona's second test result. As a result the second result was 99.999% matched and the doctor who was bribed by Kevin, died in an accident.

Therefore even though Gideon knew that Ruona was a fake, he had no witnesses.

When he first saw Gideon, Kevin already felt that Gideon was a clever man so he anticipated him.

“Ruona, we are in the same position.”

“What do you want exactly?”

“That's obvious, the highest peak in the Cross family. That position should be mine instead of Gideon.”

“But Gideon is the legitimate son of Cross's descendants and he is the most viable candidate.”

“Then from that I have to get rid of it.”

“What?”

Liana slowly opened her eyes. His eyes swept over the ward. He suddenly realized that by his bedside was Daniel clasping his hand tightly. The little boy lay down next to him and appeared to be sound asleep.

Liana initially felt a tremendous headache but seeing the father and son pair holding each hand miraculously was able to relieve her headache.

“Bu, are you awake?”

Damian's voice sounded as soon as the bathroom opened.

“Ya.”

Damian carefully picked up a chair and sat there.

“What happened to mom?”

“Mother is very careless because it can slip from the bathroom and result in injury.”

“Hey mother is not as careless as that.”

“But in reality mom is very sloppy.”

“Yak, Damian to here.”

Damian obeyed his mother's words.

“More near.”

“No, I suspect will do something.”

“No.”

Damian was closer and sure enough Liana pulled her hand from Gideon's grip to lightly pinch Damian's cheek.

“Ah mother..”.

“Mother loves you so much so let mom pinch your cheeks. I'm very worried about you.”

Feeling the loss in his palm. Gideon woke up from his sleep. The man raised his head.

Gideon sees Liana hugging Damian. Damian who was in her arms let her pinch Damian's gaunt cheek.

A warm smile spread across Damian and Liana's faces.

Daniel also gasps when he hears of a quarrel between Liana and Damian.

“Bu,” exciting Daniel.

“Uh, Daniel. You are awake.”

Daniel just nodded.

“Mother give me a hug,” exclaimed Daniel as he opened his hand.

“Let father hug.”

“No! I want a mom who hugs.”

Liana immediately smiled, Daniel immediately hugged Liana. While Damian feels jealous because his area is threatened.

“Damian, let dad hug you.”

“I don't want to!”

“Why?”

“I'm a mother's child not your child.”

Gideon immediately raised his hand and moved carrying Damian into his arms. He didn't let Damian go.

For the first time, he could see Damian this close.

Damian struggles to escape but his efforts are in vain.

“Damian, do you want to play a game with dad?”

“Games are for small children only.”

“And you were a kid. Daniel likes this game.”

Gideon held Damian's body firmly and carried Damian into the air like a flying plane.

“Wah...download me! Wahhh I'll fall.”

Gideon raised his eyebrows when he saw Damian's face pale and frightened. This is the difference between Damian and Daniel.

Damian loves this game because Damian likes challenging things.

“Call me dad.”

“Dad! Dad put me down!”

Gideon immediately finished the game.

“This game is really unpleasant.”

Damian immediately closed his eyes and a tear fell. Gideon was a little helpless to see Damian cry.

Damian hugged her tightly while Gideon tried to calm her down.

“Don't cry, don't cry.”

Seeing Damian and Gideon's unusual interactions. Liana's lips twitched and she laughed out loud and it rubbed off on Daniel.

Daniel did not know what his mother laughed at, but seeing how beautiful his mother was with a smile, he could not help but laugh as well.

“Mother..”

Damian protested, the boy immediately rushed into his mother's arms. The boy buried his head in Liana's chest.

Daniel also directly slammed into his father's embrace.

“Daddy, I really like it. The four of us together. My mom, dad, sister and me. We're together forever.

Gideon remained silent for a while before ending his nod. “Sure.”
