8. Buried Secrets For years

The sky was getting dark but the atmosphere out there was still dense and bustling. Incandescent lights and tall buildings that emit color as if giving a beautiful impression at night.

Gideon stood before the translucent glass and observed the atmosphere of the night peacefully. His office lights were left dimly lit giving a mysterious impression.

He stared blankly at the busy night in the city. His brows were intertwined like he was thinking of something.

Elsewhere Ruona is at the cafe with Daniel. They buy various foods.

“Mama, I want that one.”

“Good.”

Runna immediately ordered the food Daniel wanted. Ruona always spoils Daniel. Not without reason Ruona spoiled Daniel.

Ruona spoils Daniel because he is the link between her and Gideon.

“Daniel, after this let's go to dad's office.”

“Good.”

They went to Gideon's company. Ruona tells Daniel to wait for her outside while she goes in first to meet Gideon.

Ruona slowly opened the door of Gideon's office. He saw a towering tall figure standing behind him. His back is straight with broad shoulders. It felt like Ruona was leaning there and spoiling.

However Ruona knew it was an impossible and difficult thing to realize. Although many people know that they are engaged and Ruona has been confirmed to be his wife since they were children.

But they are not a perfect love partner. Gideon was always cold to her and it made Ruona very sad.

Ruona carefully put her bag on the sofa and she approached Gideon. He stood beside Gideon and stared at Gideon's strong, strong arms.

“Gideon.”

Gideon glanced at Ruona coldly making Ruona worry about whether she should hold that seductive arm.

“Are you home tomorrow night? Grandpa looking for you.”

“No.” Gideon answered him indifferently.

Hearing that Ruona became sad. He is engaged and will be his wife. Gideon was always cold and arrogant. He was always cold and never showed him any tenderness. Except for Daniel.

Ruona smiled wryly. He took a big step. Ruona walked in front of Gideon and opened her hand, putting it on Gideon's shoulder.

Ruona's eyes looked at Gideon lovingly. Ruona quickly approached Gideon's face and landed her lips on the edge of Gideon's jaw.

The shocked Gideon immediately pushed onto Ruona's body.

Ruona looked stiff in place. He could not help but smile bitterly. Gideon's lips are his forbidden zone.

Kissing is taboo for him. The status is fake.

Ruona clenched her hands in anger.

“Gideon, do you love me?”

Gideon's face did not show any expression.

“You already know the answer.”

Ruona smiled bitterly and felt a deep sadness. Ruona had expected it but she wanted to hear from Gideon's lips.

He wanted his conjecture wrong but his mind was always wandering in terms that made him sick. If only his grandfather had not arranged a marriage, this man in front of him would not have seen it.

Grandpa Simon likes me but you don't even look at me.

“I love you. Do you really want to live with me?”

Ruona's memory delivered her ten years ago. Simon takes her to the Cross family and introduces her to Gideon Cross. From then on, Gideon becomes his first love but Gideon does not like him.

The atmosphere was silent and Gideon did not intend to speak then suddenly the door opened and displayed the figure of a little boy.

“Dad, Mama.”

Ruona saw Daniel's presence and became irritated that the boy was present at an inopportune moment. Not without reason because Ruona did not have a blood bond with Daniel so when the little man no longer needed him. Ruona would look at him coldly and ruthlessly.

Gideon reduced his cold expression.

Daniel hugged Gideon with excitement. Daniel enjoys the warmth of a father. While Ruona was standing at the side like a dazed person. He felt that he could not intervene with the world of father and son.

Gideon held Daniel. “Good.”

Gideon left without taking Ruona along. Daniel who realized that Ruona was not following them immediately turned his head towards Ruona.

“Mama, come.”

“Alright, I'll catch up,” said Ruona with a smile.

Ruona let out a long sigh as the door closed. He took his bag and set out to follow Gideon and Daniel.

As he opens the door, he crosses paths with Johan

“Mrs President.”

“Ya.”

Ruona answered with a gentle smile and her eyes glanced at the envelope that Johan had brought as secretary to Gideon's two.

“What is it?”

“Presdir ordered to investigate something.”

“Can I see it?” ruona asked calmly.

Johan was silent to think.

“I am the future Madam Presidentmu. The President's goods are also my items later.”

Ruona immediately picked up the envelope and read what was inside.

Ruona looked surprised at the information from her family background, education, work.

“Liana?”

The name gave a faint impression to Ruona. Liana has a four or five-year-old son named Damian.

“Isn't he the same age as Daniel.”

His heart suddenly felt bad. Ruona slowly narrowed her eyes as she vividly recalled the events of a few years ago.

Ruona took all the photos that were inside. He saw a very handsome boy. The features, contours and appearance are exactly the same as Daniel.

Ruona finally confirmed her conjecture. His fingertips suddenly hardened.

The kid didn't die? So the woman hid it. The boy is obviously dead, I saw it for myself. Butwhy? Liana why didn't she tell me. Does he want to enter the Cross family with this kid? She is the mother of Damian and Daniel. He could be a big threat to me.

Ruona became panicked and frightened. His face is getting pale. Johan who was in front of him felt strange.

Ruona smiled and pretended to be calm. He read Liana's information again.

His heart was beating even more as he read Liana's information getting further and further away.

“This orphanage..”.

Ruona's memories flew back into the past.

Ruona walked backwards and sat down on the sofa. Fingers trembling. Cold sweat started to appear.

“Why are all coincidences at this time? Why back then, did I not check her background to this extent?”

Runna put that information on the table.

“If grandfather finds out, I will lose my position of being Cross family. Nah! I don't want.”

Ruona looked at Johan with a second-guessing look.

Is he starting to doubt me? That I wasn't the real owner so he had Johan investigate. Impossible.

Ruona immediately stood up and grabbed the sheet back.

“Don't tell me any information about Damian including the woman's past. And also do not mention the origin of the woman who is from the orphanage. Do you understand?”

“Do you understand?”

Johan did not answer him because he felt that his boss was Gideon so he did not need to obey Ruona's words.

“Why silence? You think because you're Gideon's secretary, I can't fire you. I could fire you with grandpa's help. You want to try it?”

“No.”

“Good, this problem you just need to shut your mouth.”

Johan is a loyal secretary to Gideon but he also knows that Ruona is Simon Cross's future favorite son-in-law. He can't touch her.

“Good.”

Ruona left leaving Johan still in his place.
