6. Crisis

Liana let out a slow breath while avoiding the various torturous thoughts that haunted her mind.

His eyes looked at Damian who was arranging the porridge in the bowl.

“Mother, let's eat.”

Liana immediately held the bowl and ate it greedily.

“Mother eat slowly. I won't ask for yours.”

“Take it easy. It's the slowest way to eat.”

Damian had already not moved his spoon and was only silently watching Liana. Damian looked at Liana with a smile.

“Mother, can I ask?”

“Hm.”

“My father..”.

Damian wasn't done with his words but Liana was already choking. He coughed. Damian with a smile pushed a glass of water towards Liana.

Liana quickly drank it up the toilet. He looked at Damian with a surprised expression. Liana panicked and it was clear on her face.

“Do you know something?”

Damian saw the panic in his eyes and with an innocent smile, Damian replied, “I don't know.”

Liana breathed a sigh of relief. He lowered his back which had stiffened. Damian asked the same question about his father. But at that moment, Liana simply answered the origin to cover up the past. He could not remember the answers in the past.

If the answer is different now than before. That would indicate that Liana was lying.

“Ah, dear. Why not continue with your food? Eat a lot. You are still in the infancy of.”

Damian got up from his chair and sat down beside Liana. Damian looked at Liana's face and felt suspicious.

While Liana became worried. Liana failed to hide her panic.

“Mother, when I called mom. An uncle answered him. Who's that uncle?”

“The uncle did he say anything? Did you ask your name?”

“No. Even if the uncle asks, I won't tell him. Mother taught me.”

“You are really smart!” Liana looks very happy.

Damian cutely propped up his chin with his hand and smiled. “But Damian asked the uncle, to raise mom's salary.”

“Damian will never leave mom right?” liana asked carefully.

“Why are you asking like that again? Damian won't leave mom.”

Liana asked carefully and hesitated a little. “If..” Liana swallowed her own saliva. “If one day, your father comes and tries to take you away.”.

“No! Damian is a mother's son. Damian will only love mom.”

Upon hearing this, Liana's heart became moved. He hugged Damian tightly. The anxiety and fear he felt in his heart suddenly disappeared.

Damian let go of his mother's embrace and took a look at Liana's face. Her small hand traced Liana's face and stopped on her lips.

“Mother, what's wrong with your lips?”

Liana's eyes twitched while thinking of the right reason.

“Oh, when mom eats. Mom accidentally biting mom's own lips.”

Damian looked at Liana suspiciously.

“Mother really accidentally bit her own lips.”

Damian's eyes narrowed “Who bit mom?”

Liana got a headache because of Damian.

Their genes are troublesome. Why are father and son so similar?

“Mother accidentally bit her.”

Damian as if pouting, “Mother just tell me who's bothering you? I'll protect you.”

Liana's laughter exploded instantly upon hearing Damian's words. He was so amazed by Damian's imagination.

Seeing his mother laughing, Damian could not help but laugh. He admired his mother so much. He loved his mother so much.

Damian puts a warm smile on his face but his heart aches when he sees a flashback of his mother's struggle to raise him.

Liana finished her education and had to work plus she had to take care of it. It works until the pain is ignored.

Damian was sad when he saw his mother had to be strong. There was a time when Damian wanted to tell his mother that he could take care of their living expenses and to protect her.

This afternoon, Liana opened her email hoping that there would be a reply from every application she sent. Unfortunately, there was no reply from any of them.

Liana gave up and put her phone on the table. He looked up when the doorbell rang.

Liana immediately got up and opened the door. When the door opened, no one was there. Liana turned to her right and left still not finding any trace of the person pressing on her house bell.

Just as Liana was about to close the door, she accidentally saw a piece of paper in front of the door.

Liana immediately picked it up and saw who the sender was from.

Liana directly closed the door and headed towards the middle room. He sat there and opened the envelope.

Apparently the envelope was an unpaid bill last month. When Liana opened each one of them.

Liana could not hide her surprise.

The salary he got and the rest couldn't even close the bill.

“Mother what's wrong?” ask Damian who just came out of his room.

Liana turned to Damian and fixed her face. “It's okay.”

Damian knew that his mother was lying and his eyes went straight to the paper that his mother was holding.

Damian instantly found out what Liana was trying to hide.

Damian immediately sat down beside Liana.

“Mother, I am sure we will be able to get through this predicament,” Damian said with gentleness in his eyes.

Liana smiled and threw away the paper she had in her hand. His eyes were curved like a crescent moon.

In the evening Liana and Damian visit Sanjaya. Liana got word that her stepfather had come home from the hospital.

Liana knocked on the door and looked down to see Damian.

When the door opened Liana was immediately treated to a pair of cold eyes belonging to Luna. Luna looked at Liana's face with disdain.

“What are you doing here?”

“I want to see dad.”

“For what did you meet my father with your rotten fruit.” Luna looked at the fruit Damian had brought.

“I want to meet dad. I heard he's back from the hospital.”

Liana tried to barge in but was immediately blocked by Luna even she dared to push Liana.

“Dare you enter my house, I will kill you.”

“I want to see father not to quarrel with you.”

“But when I see you, I want to slap you.”

The sound of slapping sounded there. Luna proudly grinned as she managed to land a slap on Liana.

The sound of a slap times louder than the first. Luna looked at him blankly. He felt the heat on his cheek.

Luna immediately shouted, “You dare slap me!”

“Ya.”

Luna was stunned, she could not believe that the cowardly and timid Liana now dared to hit him.

“You! I'll kill you.”

Before Luna's hand managed to touch her cheek. Liana had already caught up to him and Liana as fast as lightning instantly pushed Luna down.

Luna's anger exploded. He felt ridiculed. He rushed to stand up and wanted to hit Liana. Luna threw her punch but again Luna's wrist was immediately turned off by Liana.

“What are you two doing?”

Sanjaya's screams sounded there.

Liana turned to Sanjaya. The originally cold eyes had now turned into a pair of helpless eyes.

“Dad, Luna has gone too far..”.

Liana tried to cry as if she had just gotten into big trouble. Liana looked weak and helpless.

Luna who saw him could not hide her stupid expression.
