Apparently the Gibran meeting took quite a long time. Until lunch ended, Gibran was still not finished with his work. And now, Gibran's colleagues are taking them for a walk around Chatuchak Market, a weekend market open from Friday to Sunday night.
This is certainly the most enjoyable business trip for Maria. He thought business only included boring meetings and meetings. It turns out that after joining Gibran here Maria had a different view.
There are some colleagues who are fond of making their colleagues happy, such as colleagues Gibran this time. The Thai conglomerates are so humble and smiley, they have no doubt stepped on the market of all the people they can actually afford.
Maria herself has often visited this place every vacation to Thailand. But, the antique and unique souvenir still makes him amazed. Maria stared in interest at each stand that lined the left right. Especially fabrics, clothes, bags and some other items with a variety of motifs and models.
He occasionally listened to Gibran and his colleagues' conversations, though he did not understand them. Nick walked behind them with the other assistants.
"You want to go shopping?"
The question made Mary flinch. He looked at Gibran, who was looking at him. Maria grimaced softly, embarrassed to find that she had no money. There are only a few cards in his wallet. While they are currently in the market, of course cash is the most needed.
"No-No" answered Mary. He threw a stiff smile, gesturing through his eyes for Gibran to focus on his colleagues.
Of course Maria is self-conscious. In his current condition he had to put aside his shopping hobby. If Mary used to be free to hunt for any souvenirs while on vacation, then now it is different, she must hold back her will because she does not have money.
That's what he was thinking. Until when they returned to the hotel in the afternoon, Maria was surprised by the arrival of Nick who brought a number of bags containing groceries.
Mary was glued to the door. A few minutes ago, Gibran and I arrived at the hotel. The man was cleaning himself in the bathroom. Indeed, Nick had asked permission to leave for a while. He did not think Gibran's assistant would buy any items, precisely for Maria.
"I-It ..."
"Souvernir for Madam." Nick handed some of the bags to Maria.
Maria was silent for a moment before then receiving it with a look of astonishment. He thanked Nick as he lowered his head and left.
Maria closed the door, just as the bathroom door opened, presenting the refreshed Gibran in full outfit, khaki trousers and plain white body-fitting t-shirts.
Mary looked at the man for a long time. Gibran was drying his hair with a towel. Before long his head looked up, making their eyes meet with a glance for a moment.
For quite a while the two were fighting. Gibran frowned as Maria threw a smile. A gentle and sincere smile that made Gibran fixated.
"Thank you" said Maria.
Gibran flinched as Maria approached. The woman held up her hands full of shopping bags from Nick.
"I know Koko told him to. Thank you." Thank you."
Silent. Gibran remained silent even though Mary stood before him. A few seconds later the man looked up, dried his hair again with a towel, then walked up to the single sofa by the window and slid his body there.
"That's for all the employees at home."
With a flowery look Mary kept all the bags until they filled the bed. Then he walked to the bathroom humming softly. Suddenly he turned around, "Yes. If Koko does intend to give all employees, please tell Nick to buy some more, because this is still lacking."
After that Maria disappeared behind the door, leaving Gibran who was momentarily silent as he blinked in place. The man snorted, but his hand reached for the phone on the table, ordering Nick to return to the market to meet the shortcomings Maria had mentioned.
Unlike the previous night, tonight Gibran invited Maria to eat at the hotel restaurant located on the top floor of the building. The panorama of the sky that was vibrant by the glitter of the city became the scene that Maria found once sitting there.
It seems that this place is very exclusive because it only provides a few tables that are all placed side by side with giant circular windows. While in the middle of the room there is a kind of a large bar table where the waiters mix drinks.
Classical music flowed smoothly between them, flowing tranquility in the middle of a dim and private atmosphere is also elegant. This atmosphere made Mary's heart flutter. A strange feeling that felt familiar suddenly perched without being prevented.
His heart is beating fast. Suddenly Maria felt nervous for no reason, especially when the fragrant Gibran perfume occasionally entered her sense of smell.
"What message do you want?" Gibran's voice broke the atmosphere.
Made Mary fall into a faint and out of the daydream. He opened a menu book and mentioned two options. The boy recorded it and went from there.
Silence enveloped the two. Neither Gibran nor Maria had any voice initiatives. Besides Gibran who rarely spoke, there was a confused Mary who had to discuss what topic.
Maria cleared her throat. In his heart he prayed that he would not do his nervous recklessness. The shameful habit he hates.
"Good, yes," cried Mary, making Gibran faintly frown.
Mary folded her lips while scratching behind her ears. "The place is good" said Maria again half whispered.
Her lips were slightly pursed because Gibran ignored her. The man preferred to stare at the window instead of Maria who was already dressed up pretty in front of him.
Oh, my God, it looks like Laura's right, Gibran doesn't like women. But Maria was also doubtful about the conclusion because they had kissed several times. Errata, only twice, and the first one Mary did not notice.
Before long the waiter came to take their order. Mary and Gibran ate quietly without a sound. Sometimes Mary glanced at her husband, trying to dive into the man's head which was so difficult to understand. But at the ends he surrendered because the Gibran shell was too thick to be penetrated.
"Thank you for the walk today" Maria said between meals.
"It's not a walk."
"I knew. For Koko it's just a job. But for me it was a walk. Because Koko works, not me." Mary smiled behind the glass of wine she was drinking.
While Gibran only glanced at him at a glance while bribing food into the mouth. For a moment Mary looked up at the sky outside the window, then at Gibran before her. The lalaki looked charming with a calm manner.
His smile immediately rose considering Gibran's attention this afternoon. Maybe Maria is overconfident, but she can't prevent her assumption from saying that the groceries Nick brought were actually for Maria.
All the objects inside were items that Maria had held in the market. Is it just a coincidence?
