I'M MAKING YOU SORRY

I'M MAKING YOU SORRY
CHAPTERS 1. MEETING OF TWO FRIENDS

Karmila or commonly called Mila, a 19-year-old girl, sweet-faced, tanned, long-haired straight-back, who had finished her High School, running around the rice fields and grass to go home. The day was already late in the afternoon after he finished his task of driving away the rice-eating birds by moving the scarecrow and the sounds of used cans with ropes.

Now it's time he cooks for dinner for himself and Grandpa. He has been an Orphan since he was in the 6th grade of Elementary School. He was taken care of by his Grandpa and Grandma. But unfortunately, his grandmother also died when he was in 2nd grade High School. Now Mila only lives with her old grandfather. His grandfather could not go anywhere. So that Mila had to cultivate the rice fields his grandfather assisted his workers.

Mila has no plans yet, after her graduation from High School a month ago. He could not leave his grandfather to go to college or work in the city. He could not bear to leave his grandfather. So, he only cultivated the rice fields to fill his time.

Mila was stunned when she saw a luxury car parked in her yard made of woven bamboo. Mila researched the black luxury car while touching the car in amazement.

Mila gasped when the car alarm went off. A man came out of Mila's house. Mila was a little scared to see that guy. Afraid to get angry. But the guy was smiling.

"You must be Mr. Haris' grandson, right? Hurry in there, wait for your Grandpa!" said the man.

"Whose father?" ask Mila.

"I'm Mr. Soleh, Mr. Edwin's driver. Your grandfather's best friend from the city, "the man replied.

Mila immediately went into the house. Seeing Mila's arrival, her Grandfather smiled as he waved his hand for Mila to approach.

"Well, this is my granddaughter, Mila. Here's Mila, greetings Mr. Edwin, "his grandfather said.

Mila obeyed her grandfather's orders.

"Gee. Your granddaughter is big! Beautiful natural. It's a good match for my granddaughter!" said Mr. Edwin

"Ha ha ha ....! Could you Win! It's appropriate for my grandson to be with the grandson of a successful businessman like you. Your granddaughter must be highly educated. My granddaughter is just a high school graduate and a Village girl. It must not be to the taste of your granddaughter who is a city person" Grandpa Mila replied.

"Bec .... Don't like to be low. My granddaughter would. He will not argue" said Mr. Edwin.

The chatter of the two grandfathers made Mila a little embarrassed. Being the object of conversation.

"Sir, Mila went back to make a drink" Mila said.

"Oh yes. The guest has not been given a drink. Quickly make her drink, Mila," his grandfather ordered. Mila

nodding then rushing to the kitchen to make some tea water.

The two grandfathers were still busy chatting when Mila served drinks.

"Mila, Mr. Edwin was Grandpa's childhood friend, in elementary school. Mr. Edwin's family car entered the river because it slipped. Fortunately they survived, only injuries. Grandpa's family took them in after being evacuated from the river. After two days, help arrived. They were taken to the hospital for further treatment. As long as they were in this Village, they were only treated with village herbs, because there used to be no medical personnel in this Village. There was also no phone call to the village. So that their pick-up process was slow due to communication constraints," Grandpa Mila told me. Mila just bothered,-beard only.

"Since then Mr. Edwin's family often visit here. We are also friendly. Grandparents and Grandpa Parents were once invited to their nice and big house. Grandpa last went to your house when Win, I forgot," Grandpa recalled.

"The last time you went there was when you were married to your beloved girl, Ris," Mr. Edwin reminded.

"Oh yes," Grandfather patted his forehead, "If you were, last came here while with your 14-year-old son come here" Grandpa Mila said nostalgically.

Their conversation continued until Mila finished cooking. Mr. Edwin and his driver were invited to eat with a makeshift menu in the style of the village. Just fry tempeh, salted fish and sambal. But strangely, they look so greedy. City people are weird! Think Mila. They love village food. In fact, the villagers are very eager to eat the food of the city people who look delicious.

Apparently Mr. Edwin and his driver will be staying at Mila's house. Mila prepared the guest room. After cleaning and changing the bed sheet, Mr. Edwin who had cleaned the body, rested in the guest room.

The driver refused to sleep in a room with his employer. He prefers to sleep on the mat in front of the TV. MIila who felt sorry for the driver, Mr. Edwin, was cold, gave a blanket for the driver's bed, Mr. Edwin, and also a holster to cover his legs.

As Mila was about to go to sleep, Mr. Edwin, Grandfather and Driver Mr. Edwin were heard chatting somehow until what time. Suddenly before dawn around 3 am, the sound of his Grandfather calling

Mila immediately got up and approached her Grandfather. Grandpa's breath was wheezing. Mr. Edwin and his driver woke up to the sound of Grandpa calling out to Mila.

"Mila's. It seems like Grandpa's age won't be long. You go with Mr. Edwin. Edwin, I'm taking my granddaughter. Please take care of my grandson. He has no one else" Grandpa Mila said with a sigh.

"You don't talk like that. You have to live to see your granddaughter live happily. I will take care of your grandson without being asked" replied Mr. Edwin.

Driver Mr. Edwin guided Grandpa to pronounce Talqin. Mila's getting hysterical. Mr. Edwin also seemed to cry restrained. It turned out to be the last day of his meeting with Haris, his best friend after a long time did not meet. I don't know why Mr. Edwin wants to visit Haris Village. He is also in a weak condition. But, out of nowhere, during the trip he felt well.

"Inna lillahi wa innaillaihi rojiun," Driver Mr. Edwin rubbed the face of Grandpa Mila who had breathed his last.

"Grandfather! Grandpa! Don't leave Mila! Hu hu hu ....," Mila added sobbing. Mr. Edwin rubbed the back of Mila who was hugging her Grandfather's body.

"Patience, boy! Break heart. Take your grandfather's departure. Insha Allah Husnul Khotimah" said Mr. Edwin.

"From now on, call me Grandpa. Think of me as your grandfather's replacement. You are not alone, there is Grandpa now who will take care of you," said Mr. Edwin again.

Mila stared at the street from the car window. After her Grandfather's funeral, Mila is invited to leave the village to stay at the home of Mr. Edwin, her Grandpa's best friend. Mila left her Grandpa's house and grave to her neighbors. He had no relatives, because his Grandpa and Grandma were not originally from that village. Grandpa and Grandma haven't been able to tell me about it. But according to the news he heard, his Grandpa and Grandma used to elope. They had no relatives and relatives in the village.

After traveling 5 hours, the car they were riding in arrived at a large and magnificent house. Mila was amazed. The house was like the houses in the soap opera that he often watched.

Mr. Edwin took Mila down. The driver brought Mr. Edwin and Mila's bags. Mila got into the house slowly. Her net was fascinated to see the beauty of the interior of the house.

"Who is Pa?" a beautiful, aged woman came down from the top floor, staring at the two people who had just entered the house. His gaze focused on looking at Mila from top to bottom. Like I was judging.

"He's my best friend's son. From today on, he will stay in this house" replied Mr. Edwin.

Two men came down from upstairs. They looked at the girl Mr. Edwin had brought.

"It just so happens that you all gathered together. Introduce, he's Mila. He's my best friend's grandson who just died yesterday. He is also an orphan. From today on, he will stay here with us," said Mr. Edwin staring at his son, son-in-law, and granddaughter.

"I hope Grandpa won't make this house a shelter for orphans" said Ronald, the grandson of Mr. Edwin, a 28-year-old boy, looking at Mila cynically. According to him, the girl's appearance is shabby and looks shabby.

"Support a little, Ronald! Welcome to you, son! May you stay at home" Mr. Brian, Papa Ronald warmly welcomes Mila.

Mila shook Brian's hand. Also to Mrs Jeny. Mila was hesitant to shake hands with Ronald. Lazily, Ronald reached out his hand to shake hands with Mila.

"Cari! Come here!" Mr. Edwin called one of his servants.

The waiter named Sari, moved - goopoh approached Mr. Edwin.

"Show Miss Mila's room upstairs. Bring bag. Please put my bag in my room.," Mr. Edwin told Sari.

"Mila, you rest in your room" said Mr. Edwin with a smile.

"Good, Grandpa" replied Mila

Sari took Mila upstairs. Mr. Edwin looked up at Mila's departure. Then Mr. Edwin went to his room to rest.

"You guys, sit in the living room! I'll tell you something!" mr. Edwin said to his son, son-in-law and grandson the next day.
